... or any other tourist spot

In the good old days when I still had been travelling a bit more, they were ubiquitous (and rather annoying): young men assidiously pursueing the mobile trade with high quality luxury goods...

In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Dimitri01nkkpp

"Sir?!!... wanna buy watch? Good price, good price ... take a look...!"

In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Dimitri02jtkym

In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Dimitri03t5kr3

(Admittedly, pocket watches are not really in great demand, but Dimitri is hoping for their comeback. His factory does not know how to produce wrist watches yet. So he is offering what he can source.)

"Glasses? ... Sun's hot... need glasses, Sir?!!!"

In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Dimitri047bkee

"Visit beach? need towel? ... nice towels here, Sir!... very soft... feel it ... make price only for you, Sir!"

In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Dimitri059zk6q

(Valiarde planted this idea in my mind mentioning beach vendors once I showed pics of a pile of my pocket watches... and I just had to quickly bash such a character.
Pics were taken in front of a neutral backdrop as it had been a requirement for a little custom figure competition in a German forum.  Actually he was supposed to be quickly dismantled again as he has borrowed some items from figures that might miss them... I just could not bring myself to do it yet.)

I was enjoying looking at your figure , and thinking how cool he looks , and then to get the superb looking diorama with those fitting accessories was the icing on the cake . The Lambreta / Vespa like most 1/6th vehicles looks a little underscaled is it ? Nice interesting and different figure .

Dimitri is absolutely precious. Interesting source of inspiration, and beautifully recreated. Also, fun sequence, and excellent backdrop, accessories, critters, and other distractions! Poor Dimitri never stood a chance.

Everything is so beautifully done, right down to the last detail. That last shot with the squirrel is priceless.

Omg, what a unique character , I love all those mini- pocket watches! Also his pants are amazing. Laughing

The vespa sequence is hilarious, and I love all the details of the rubbish on the ground.

Question....did he run over the cat?? Shocked

Thank you. Yes, the Vespa seems a little small. After all it is not specifically intended for 1:6 purposes (at least I think so). He looks particularly odd on it in the first pic - but it just adds to the weirdness of the scene.   alien

Thank you! finally a moment to use some of all the stuff that keeps piling up in the drawers and next to them  jocolor

Thank you! I am glad I thought of using the single chip in that scene.

affraid - no, of course he did not run over the cat. The cat is way too smart cat  -  she was there to signal bad luck (black cat crossing from the left)

FUN FACT regarding the pants: my aunt sewed them more than 40 years ago for my Ken doll. There are a couple of pretty old items from my Barbie period left... I think they work really well on Dimitri. Very Happy I will have to show him to her and ask her whether she remembers...

I’d like to think his Vespa is another of his ‘high quality and totally legit’ products for sale XD

I love the who setup, and especially the crash scene - you can see what’s about to happen long before he does which makes it extra hilarious.

Dimitri's collection of pocket watches for sale is impressive and comprehensive. His pants are awesome, and your aunt did a great job.

What a cool idea and execution. Not a fan of these scam artists/barkers in real life, but I can get behind what you did here (especially after he gets in the accident). Clever photos and story behind the figure.

I recently got new cabinets/cupboards and tried to get all my figures behind doors... After quite some arranging and rearranging (which for sure is not over yet), two had been left and I parked them in the hitherto empty kitchen...

This is what happened there:

Great kitchen. LOL... they speak German at Rome? Unexpected twist, considering Dimitri got into a crash after ogling a blonde.

Laughing Laughing Thanks Gub -
Had it been Madrid, I could have given my Spanish a try... but Italian... no. His Italian probably is about as non-existent as mine anyway Cool

And as for the blonde: he is just an open minded man with a variety of interests and can appreciate anything of beauty In the streets of Rome... "Honey, I'm home!" update 1st June 22 Smilie_engel_065

I really like that Character. His Hair is so slimy like his personality. And i saw this vespa already and thought what i can do with it. But this little story is perfect for that vehicle. That little crook is intrested in both, he look at the sexy lady and at home waits his friend . That shows why Casanova is a italien. Laughing

Sorry Illusion. I think we highjack this great Thread into a direction Illusion don´t want to show with it. Wink

That's some seriously cool kitchen items. What a hard worker Dimitri is, hopefully next time he gets that ice cream.

Thanks guys… glad you are having some fun. Smile

well, Dimitri is no Italian even though he chose Rome for his ventures… but can‘t there be a Casanova in everyone … who cares about nationalities Wink

(as for the kitchen: I still plan to get the cupboards a little higher by adding a base .)
