Yes I agree, they look fantastic together. Could the head look to be sitting too high because of a camera angle? They all look god to me.

They all looks really good!! That head is amazing. My favourite body is the tallest one though, despite the slight crinkles in the suit. I just prefer the proportions.

Thanks, everyone.
I most likely didn't pick photos with head sitting higher. Only the first one, when he is looking down.
And I feel the same way about proportions, BMS Steel justice looks better in this regard.

Little Armory Shoots Again

(and probably not for the last time)

The XM2010 has been my favourite sniper rifle in both 1/12 and 1/6 scales.
In 1/12 it is represented by a Little Armory model kit. I've kept my first sample unpainted, though it seems to have accumulated some dust (and traces of sticky tac to strengthen the foldable stock hinge):
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7721

However, I've recently acquired another one, and decided to paint some parts of it to match the 1/6 scale version:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7722

I went a bit overboard with it actually, the larger version is still mostly black except for scope and suppressor:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7723

Still, I'll probably add some paint to the first all-black rifle too. It may benefit from painted rivets, and maybe the barrel.

In addition to XM2010, I've also bought a M24A2 model kit, and painted some parts of it too - though here the difference between painted and unpainted doesn't stand out too much:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7724

It also comes with this catadioptric scope attachment (which is most likely a night sight):
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7725

It won't dethrone the XM2010 because the latter has pistol grip which is easier to fit into hands of action figures. But it's nonetheless a fine addition to my 1/12 scale weapons collection.

Nice work indeed, and nice weapons too. I often dry-brush model kit weapons too.

Your work reminds me of an old comedy film, "Austin Power 2" with "mini me", where the bad guy had made a little copy of himself.

BAMComix wrote:I often dry-brush model kit weapons too.
I like model kits because different parts can be painted differently (or left unpainted) without any need for masking.

Diana wrote:I enjoyed it despite not being a weapons person. Smile
Glad to hear Smile

French wrote:where the bad guy had made a little copy of himself.
Yeah, it's inevitable for me with multiple scales, especially since I recreate my 1/12 scale in 1/6.

The real challenge is to write this adventure (working on it).

Winter Soldier

AKA Masked Killer by Nota Studio.
Since he is available at Giantoy right now, I decided to post a mini-review of him.

Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7942

I've actually received him several weeks ago but was busy.

The release was delayed significantly. The package includes a note with apologies. Apparently they had to move production to another factory and redesign the figure. The most noticeable sign of that is a mismatch in the scale of weapons: they seem to be TBL/SHF size while the figure is Mezco scale.

Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7944

Prosthetic arm is single-jointed - IIRC it was double-jointed in promo pics. It still bends way past ninety degrees though, but the manual warns against leaving it in this position for long.

Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7943

There are several face plates and multiple hair pieces (at least in Deluxe version). The variety of looks is really impressive. The likeness is probably not so impressive. But Sebastian Stan is often said to look similar to Mark Hamill, who is very hard to capture in action figure form.

Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7947

The deluxe version is really loaded with accessories. Too many to list them individually. Guns, knives, muzzle effects...

Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7945

Of note, there is a second version of a Barrett M82, in gold (a good illustration for Awesome But Impractical trope) - listed as a gift item (both rifles attach to his back magnetically)
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7946

...and the shield with special holder attachment for the shield capture pose:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7948

As mentioned earlier, he is Mezco scale, but proportions are somewhat different:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7949
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7951
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_7950

Anyway, my overall impression is I'm glad that I have it (especially since I've paid for it literally years ago and don't remember how much), but I wouldn't be too sad if I didn't.
It is the only representation of Bucky in the "cloth action figure" category at this scale. Other versions may have better articulation or likeness, but this one works for me.

Would be better with rooted hair Smile But alas, I've seen it only on female figures at this scale.

Riders of the (post-)apocalypse

The human part of protagonists at some time during the sequel (which is not posted yet but being worked on).

Pictured with two 1/12 scale motorcycles (by Maisto and Aoshima) and G. I. Joe Stinger (which seems to be more properly scaled than MMMtoys M2101).

Nice shot of humans and machines, all nicely scaled. Also like the somewhat drab feel of the city street backdrop.

The backdrop is Extreme Sets Building 3.0, it already became a staple in my collection. The only downside is that I use it too often (but it's not really a flaw of the backdrop itself).

I've learned of existence of VAMP too late, and it was some kind of exclusive. But when Stinger was announced, I've ordered it immediately. Both of them work perfectly as vehicles for my setting.

I guess the Stinger is not post-apocalyptic in a strict sense, I just use it in a post-apocalyptic setting Smile

Whisky Club Marc

A recent - and somewhat problematic - acquisition: Whisky Club Marc figure by Bigaddict (there seems to be a running theme here with naming, heh).
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8322

I don't remember how exactly I learned about it. I think I've stumbled upon a review of another figure by the same company, and when I tried to search for that figure, I found this.
But now I can't even find that review.

Anyway, on the second day after delivery the pin connecting left arm to the torso snapped. So I had to 3d-print a replacement:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 2024-110

The resulting joint turned out a bit looser than the original one, but it works:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8323

Rare shirtless look (kind of showing it is not intended to be displayed like that):
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8324

I'm not sure whether these dark purple spots are supposed to be tattoos or just stains from the shirt. But left forearm clearly has a tattoo on it.

Which raises a question of who this guy is supposed to be.

Various comments to youtube reviews and some ebay listings suggest he is Tyler Rake from Extraction, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth.
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8325

If that is the case, the likeness is definitely off (if even I can see it...)
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8326

But that actually plays into my hand because he can fit into my setting, without any real life resemblance.

Marc comes with a reasonable set of accessories - 3 pairs of hands, two Glock pistols, a shotgun and an assault rifle (though weapons are somewhat small)
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8327
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8329
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8328

Articulation is mostly great except for ab crunch.

Another noteworthy thing is magnetic head joint. In theory it's a nice idea, but I wish the magnet was stronger - the head falls off too easily. Plus it makes it incompatible with everything else.
The only other figure with magnetic head I'm aware of is T800 by Great Twins:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8330

And I've seen it somewhere that the T800 figure was actually manufactured by Bigaddict.

More size comparisons:
Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8332 Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8333 Visisonor-induced visions - Page 10 Cnr_8331

Like the Hasuki Black Ops, Marc is in the sweet spot between Mezco and "true" 1/12 scale, fitting more or less OK with other lines. But the base body could be better. I thought of replacing it but magnetic neck makes it harder. I may still try something with one of Notaman bodies (some of them come with detaching necks), but if it doesn't work, at least I could fix the broken shoulder joint.

Great looking figure, and I think the poor likeness to what seems to have been intended is indeed a good thing. He scales great with the other lines. I'm glad you were able to repair him.
