We completely agree about the body -- the point was it is not even vampiric, although in this light the mismatch was less. As for the body type, well, why not an emaciated, wasted pale vampire? Smile Don't worry, even though it was just a random head and light experiment, you have now motivated me to redo it. Should I review the light source? Which is an actual sixth-scale campfire.

Randam Hajile wrote:Lost Boys! The lighting looks great ... very fitting for a vampire. Smile

I'm glad you got it (or were you also reading the MAF body review?). Funny what venues one goes on from a couple of variables (skin tone match issues and light).

A retake, using two different types of fire electrical fire effects. But Ralf has to remind me how to keep the dark skies on the screen from lighting up on the photos.

I'm glad you agree! Jabba did not become a major crime lord for nothing! And, as Han said, he's a wonderful human being!

This is actually quite difficult. Your best measure against lighting up the screen is to work as far as possible from the screen using a small light source. Depending on the scene you can also try to orient the lamp parallel to the screen, thus minimizing reflections. Still, it is mostly a trial and error process... Sad

Thank you for the advice. The lamp parallel to the screen trick I know, although in this case the only sources of light were the screen (albeit displaying an actually dark image) and the little light sources for the fire. With the lamp parallel to the screen, there is the problem of it possibly lighting up the back of the figure, which can then be reflected on the screen (depending on what is shown on it, it can look quite obvious). The other problem is, of course, that the farther you put the figure from the screen, the less screen background you get to work with.
I think part of the problem here is that, by relying on the "fire" as the sole source of light for the figure, the camera actually allowed the background to look lighter than it did to my eyes. Definitely something that requires more experimentation.

What kind of camera are you using? To compensate for the camera opening up the aperture in response to a dimly illuminated scene, find the "exposure compensation" control and set it, for scenes like this, somewhere between -1 stops and -2 stops. Usually the adjustments are in 1/3 of an f-stop. That doesn't matter. Just select -1 or -2. Then the auto-exposure will be darker than usual.

And here I was thinking you were burning one of those vile vampires on a stake!

Anyway you could give him a scarf to hide the neck.

Btw is it ever too late to wish a happy new year?

Thank you for the suggestion. I will see if I can find the appropriate controls. The camera I used (and usually use, out of convenience) is just the phone cam on my Samsung Galaxy. I do have a real electronic camera somewhere, but that would require excavations.

Ooh, I like the way you're thinking. I'll keep it in mind for later on. Smile

Nope, it is never too late (besides, I think I read it is the lunar new year today). Happy New Year to you too!

Someone wanted to know what this head (SDH025-C) looks like on this body (TBL S47B)... so here it is:

Thank you for the kind words. I love all versions of this head, and can't seem to put them away (I had to make an effort to substitute another head for variation in the comparison to the WB body shot). The dunes I have used mostly for Star Wars (Tatooine) purposes so far, but they came in useful the other day for this and a photo that ended up in the anniversary thread. Unfortunately, at some point sunlight messed up the left end of the backdrop (not visible here).
The dress is nothing too fancy, but easy to use (it is stretchy) and safe to use (on the seamless bodies). I have several of it. With the right accessories, it could conceivably even be used for something non-modern.

Yeah the sun can be pretty harsh with those backdrops. I only have a few but might get some more soon. They do come in handy for stories.

Yes this dress and some similars can be used for different settings if you restyle them a little but. I like these simple ones.

She looks good on this body, I feel like this 47B is smaller and more compact, compared to my old S17b, the shoulder almost reaches unreasonable 3 heads on a girl's body, which made my girls look so board, so wide Laughing Laughing ..........

Thanks, I think so too. Yes, S47B (and S46A) has narrower shoulders, which is what you are observing. And it is mostly a good thing. It is, unfortunately, a little too tall. In terms of height, my favorite TBLeague / Phicen female bodies are S29B and S25B.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked them. I didn't know from your message about the lightsabers whether you would manage to post something and I figured I needed to do something in your honor. So thanks for the gentle push.

Yeah, move over Adam Driver lol. I'm glad you like the group shot. I know he's the plainest, but the new white clone trooper is my favorite.

Nice to see your Anakin again. Also great to see the different Troopers in action with him. Do you have any favourite among those three?

And where was your thread where you were making that artifical hand/arm for him? Wink

Thank you, Simon. Yes, I think I like the plain original Second Phase trooper best -- most iconic; the others are the same with color additions.

There wasn't a detailed coverage of the artificial arm/hand, but the thread is here:
https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t6294-custom-nelvaan-anakin-updated-part-iv-heads

and the specific response to your question here:

The vambrace part is just printed on paper and self-adhesive label paper, built up a little bit (for "relief"), and painted over with the same acrylic paint as the plastic hand.

Just did a bit of a kitbash from the i8Toys Yi sets, and decided to see how she looked next to my other Chinese kitbashes and sets -- of which I have very few. Very loosely inspired by Emperor Tang Xuanzong's favorite concubine Yang Guifei's favoritism for the general An Lushan. The male figures are actually mostly Ming Dynasty, but what's a few centuries between dynasties and courtly fashions? Smile
