Maybe it's caused by lighting - most of them have red eye contours somewhat more pronounced than usual.

No worries, Ralf, I'm glad you made your way to them in the end. Thank you very much. My painting skills are still a work in progress, but hopefully yielding decent results. I can't claim perfection (God help me paint eyes! and lip color is the bane of my existence), but they do say practice makes perfect!Randam Hajile wrote:Somehow, I have missed the new posts in this thread. Sorry, Ian!
Your self-painted heads are of excellent quality. Really impressive craftship. I wish I could do some paintwork on a similar level.
Thank you very much, Simon, I was aiming to match the color. In the end it was slightly warmer/darker, especially with the Tom Selleck and Simon Kassianides heads. The mystery is why them, considering I was painting the heads in parallel, using the same mixture of Vallejo colors. Perhaps the bodies themselves are slightly different, although I was swapping bodies and heads across the lot; the amount of protective powder might also influence the look. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the somewhat random bunch. In terms of working on specific characters, these are clearly still very much in progress, some more finished, others totally random, merely for temporary display purposes.Valiarde wrote:I think you did a great job with matching the colors to the bodies (except maybe Kassianidis in the close ups)!
Quiet some unique charcters too. Always fun to see someone doing some not so standard characters in the hobby
Thank you very much, Jonathan, I'm glad you liked them. Also happy you like the improved Alan Ritchson.Zes wrote:A great set of head sculpts! The Alan Ritchson head is a definite improvement!
Thank you very much, Mark, I'm very glad (and relieved) you like the improved Reacher.Stryker2012 wrote:Some excellent repaints, Ian. I especially like the improved Reacher — he looks excellent.
