Thank you, Shaun, I think most of us do.
Just finished repainting the head.

30. More custom painted heads

Encouraged by your comments, I revisited the Alan Ritchson / Jack Reacher head, and also finished up the other four heads that I have been painting alongside it. I think the Alan Ritchson repaint is an improvement, with more subtle and realistic hair. Again, the head is by DaishoCreations3D on Etsy.

The next head I painted up was that of Jan Michael Vincent / Stringfellow Hawke. The head's size made it suitable for the same bodies and outfits as Alan Ritchson, so I swapped them up for the photos. The head is from Collectible Carnage (carnage717) on eBay.

The next head was that of Tom Selleck / Thomas Magnum, or various other roles (he tended to look more or less the same in everything). The head is also from Collectible Carnage (carnage717) on eBay.

The next head is that of Simon Kassianides / Axe Woves. The head is from onesixth_modeller on eBay. I should thin out the walls at the base of the neck a little bit so it would sit more naturally, but you all know how much I love working with resin...

The last head, actually the first one I finished, is that of David Hasselhoff / Michael Knight / Mitch Buchannon. Head from myactionfigurelab on eBay.

Some of the clothing choices were dictated by what was handy or what was handy that would fit, others by reviews I needed to make for Etsy (more on that another time). Anyway, here's a group shot of the five heads with their (makeshift) bodies:

I hope you like them.

What a colorful bunch of characters Smile

Maybe it's caused by lighting - most of them have red eye contours somewhat more pronounced than usual.

Thank you. And yes, there is red in there, partly as a result of the painting process (which includes a reddish brown layer) and partly purposefully left on the inner edges of the eyes.

Thank you very much, Dal. Glad you liked him (he is more complete of specific than most of the others).

Somehow, I have missed the new posts in this thread. Sorry, Ian!

Your self-painted heads are of excellent quality. Really impressive craftship. I wish I could do some paintwork on a similar level.

I think you did a great job with matching the colors to the bodies (except maybe Kassianidis in the close ups)! Smile
Quiet some unique charcters too. Always fun to see someone doing some not so standard characters in the hobby

No worries, Ralf, I'm glad you made your way to them in the end. Thank you very much. My painting skills are still a work in progress, but hopefully yielding decent results. I can't claim perfection (God help me paint eyes! and lip color is the bane of my existence), but they do say practice makes perfect!

Thank you very much, Simon, I was aiming to match the color. In the end it was slightly warmer/darker, especially with the Tom Selleck and Simon Kassianides heads. The mystery is why them, considering I was painting the heads in parallel, using the same mixture of Vallejo colors. Perhaps the bodies themselves are slightly different, although I was swapping bodies and heads across the lot; the amount of protective powder might also influence the look. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the somewhat random bunch. In terms of working on specific characters, these are clearly still very much in progress, some more finished, others totally random, merely for temporary display purposes.

Thank you very much, Mark, I'm very glad (and relieved) you like the improved Reacher.
