LOL, that was an excellent association. And something I had not seen before. Thank you!

Thank you for stopping by and taking this in, Paul. Yep, Luke doesn't have any happy headsculpts. Come to think about it, only the emperor does, as far as Hot Toys Star Wars is concerned...

Yeah, subvert expectations for real for a change. Smile Thank you for the kind words, Jonathan, I appreciate it. Been stopping to make more photos, but the review is cooking. Coming soon, for real-real.

I don't know if I should admit that here but I don't know much about the Star Wars universe Embarassed and only have basic knwoledge about the "who's who"... but anyways some are quite iconic and it is a nice trio you have here

Thank you very much, Poulette, I appreciate it. Just be warned: I like to "change the story" of the Star Wars universe, so don't mistake my goofiness for official Lucasfilm canon.

Thank you very much, Mark, I'm glad you liked it. Yep, Luke's gone dark, the insignificant rebellion is over, and peace and prosperity reign over the galaxy... Smile

Might be more fun, according to "Dark Helmet." And the women from the new Disney Star Wars show.
There is a photo of Luke taking the emperor's chair, you know... plus he does voice villains in animation. Smile

Haha! I'm running late, but I really liked the fourth beach scene. Looked most convincing to me. But nice display of these two great bodies and their shorts! Smile

The Darth Reunion was awesome, too! Great fun dance!

Thank you for "playing," Diana, better late than never. Smile Yeah, the shorts -- at least the red ones -- are meant to potentially double as swimwear, if I recall. Hence, the beach scenes.

Glad you liked my new inroad into goofiness.

You know, there have been sightings of Leia on the emperor's chair, too, somewhere in HERE.

29. Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher - head painting

I enjoyed the first two seasons of Reacher and wanted to try to make a Reacher figure. This is still in the making (unless you count the just in jeans look), but I did manage to get a nice Alan Ritchson head from Etsy seller DaishoCreations3D, and its owner James was nice enough to print it in sixth-scale for me. Although it was meant for a smaller scale, it was still a very fine sculpt, and I think it works well enough. Obviously, the hair stranding would have been nicer if it were finer, but beggars can't be choosers. As it is, it is giving me a little trouble with the highlights, which end up rather chunky, but I might mess with it a bit more. I tried to give the face the worn, weathered look of the character. I painted it to match the TBLegue M35 body, which seemed appropriate both size-wise and color-wise.

Great paintjob! I really need to get around to watching season 2 of Reacher.

I do see what you mean regarding the hair. Maybe a darker shade of blonde could mask the lack of sculpting detail.

Looks pretty cool. If I may suggest, add a bit more brown to the paint for the lips to tone down the pink some.

Thank you very much, Jonathan, I appreciate it. And that is the plan for the hair -- a very diluted warm medium-to-light brown to make the differences a bit more subtle and realistic.

BAMComix wrote:He looks great Ian, top work Very Happy , What look will you go with for him?
Thank you very much, Dal, I'm glad you like him. Probably at least a black t-shirt and some shoes, ideally maybe a nice beige coat, but that might be hoping for too much.

Thank you very much, Mark, I appreciate it. And I would be the first to agree that lip color, especially for men, is the bane of my painting experience. I have such a hard time arriving at anything reasonable, that is not too pink or too orange or too light (especially in contrast to the fairly tan skin). But you are right, and I will be trying to do that.

30. More custom painted heads

Encouraged by your comments, I revisited the Alan Ritchson / Jack Reacher head, and also finished up the other four heads that I have been painting alongside it. I think the Alan Ritchson repaint is an improvement, with more subtle and realistic hair. Again, the head is by DaishoCreations3D on Etsy.

The next head I painted up was that of Jan Michael Vincent / Stringfellow Hawke. The head's size made it suitable for the same bodies and outfits as Alan Ritchson, so I swapped them up for the photos. The head is from Collectible Carnage (carnage717) on eBay.

The next head was that of Tom Selleck / Thomas Magnum, or various other roles (he tended to look more or less the same in everything). The head is also from Collectible Carnage (carnage717) on eBay.

The next head is that of Simon Kassianides / Axe Woves. The head is from onesixth_modeller on eBay. I should thin out the walls at the base of the neck a little bit so it would sit more naturally, but you all know how much I love working with resin...

The last head, actually the first one I finished, is that of David Hasselhoff / Michael Knight / Mitch Buchannon. Head from myactionfigurelab on eBay.

Some of the clothing choices were dictated by what was handy or what was handy that would fit, others by reviews I needed to make for Etsy (more on that another time). Anyway, here's a group shot of the five heads with their (makeshift) bodies:

Maybe it's caused by lighting - most of them have red eye contours somewhat more pronounced than usual.
