2023 BAM Files!

Trying something a little different, and as a nod to the marvelous Fantasy figures here, I thought I have a go myself. I've used one of my Elven females as a fantasy Elf princess, walking in the forest at night. Her dress is a piece of black material and her belt, a sea shell necklace. Hope you like the pics.

Who is this? I do not remember this face or character.

The shell belt is a cool accessory!

Awesome shots all the way! I always enjoy the setups and the posing which is always perfectly lifelike

These are really nice. I’m curious about this elf girl and how she fits into your world (or does she?).

BAM with a nod to fantasy, nice! But some long time readers are a bit irritated of that direction it seems

I like theat Elf girl head. Colorful pictures, she seems like some kind of animal whisperer. And not just any animal, dangerous ones.

many thanks Dave, she is actually one of the two elves from the space crew. I just borrowed her for this shoot.

Ah no, the elf girl was more of a one off, unless I decide to create a few characters in this genre, which I might.

Hmmm, irritated by fantasy, how strange, in some ways, isn't everything we do with figures fantasy, or play time , I do get what you get though, Fantasy characters, like Legolas or Grog (from Vox Machina) are fun! still ever onwards! Really pleased you enjoyed the pics. I kind of liked the idea that she could communicate with all creatures .

While on an adventure for the Royal Kadeth Society, Louis Marques has finally caught up with Conner, a know treasure hunter and freelance thief! Conner holds in his possession, a map of ancient origin that will lead Louis to his mentor and friend Professor Champion, who was last seen heading towards an ancient temple...

Cool action shots. Love how you have him trying to grab that artifact from his hand.

Connor's white suit is going to be a mess after rolling around on the jungle floor in the mud and dirt... and probably blood!

Nice action sequence. Fun to see Louis Marques in a real punch-up!

Yeah! his suit will certainly need the dry cleaners if he gets away! I thought it would fun to get Louis involved, he is usually over shadowed by the Professor.

Louis and his smug smile really give him character, he looks like a archetypical 60s Action Hero whose adventure films are set in the 30s and 40s. And of course the villain is wearing a white jacket. His colorful shirt is beautiful, fits right in the colorful jungle.

I also get the impression the elf is an ancient animal charmer. And that cowry shells totally fits the scale, as they come in so many sizes, some larger than a hand.

Also great plant foreground framing with those Tabi shots.

Your spot on Ovy, that was what I was trying to get too, and the shot I will post in a moment will hopefully reflect that? The head of Louis certainly does have character, I believe it's originally a Zorro head? I also based Conner on the typical confident bad guy, very flamboyant, so I pleased his attire reflects that .

I was quite pleased with how the female elf pics came out, but I feel I can do better, so I'm going to really try and develop her as a character. I agree about the shell, it worked nicely with what I was going for. I also quite like the idea that she can communicate with the beasts of the forest. Hopeful, the 2.0 version will come out a little better?

So, having been inspired by Ovy's brilliant black and white shot of California the other day, I figured I'd have a go.




Then I figured I'd try and add a background. I'm not great at using photoshop, and thats an understatement, I don't understand it at all! So, using comiclife and altering basic editing, i.e, saturation, brightness, highlights, shadows and temperature. These were the results.

I really like the second pic. The legs and posing looks so darn real.

The bikini bottom with chain side clasps is cool! Did you make that, or modify an existing piece?

Great job! They really put so many details in those bodies you made shine with the lighting. I think some of the particles on there even give it a texture. And thanks for paying homage to California, maybe Jeepwoman is an ancestor from hundreds of years ago.

And the BW Louis shot looks like a movier poster.

I had to make a slight repair and so added he chains to repair it. I bought the rings originally as wrist bracelets but they also work here.

Who knows Ovy, maybe! Maybe thats where she gets her musical influences from?

Bouncing the light helped highlight the body. I used four lights to light the scene. Two studio lights and two tiny storm lantern type things, but they did the job. Yeah, lint on the bodies can be a pain, but in some cases it works to our advantage .
Pleased you enjoyed the b/w shot of Louis too .

Great shots. I especially like thew pictures of Tabi standing in the open door. Is the door handcrafted?

Thank you! Yes, I made the cell door from hardwood, brass paper fasteners and foamboard .

A friend of mine set Kat against a beach . The Angels are well traveled!  

That’s a nice PS pic. Seems appropriate considering her attire to be on a beach.

Louis looks really cool, gives me Brendan Fraisier in the Mummy vibes, the guy in the white suit with the colorful shirt looks so cool though, I can picture him in one of those 80's movies about drug traffickers. And also the latest bikini shots are top notch.

Thanks so much Theboo-bomb, I love your thoughts. They are very close to my own . Pleased you enjoyed the bikini shots too, but you have to thank Ovy for those. If he hadn't posted California looking so cool, it never would have inspire my own pics .

An overabundance of gorgeous lush imagery, and those black and white photos were beautifully (if suggestively) posed and imbued with surprising nuance. That fight scene was particularly effective, and more of a mini story.
