That's an odd one. They have been known to revisit characters and sets from other lines, in this instance I think CM (CooModel). The coloring is too light, but works aesthetically. I don't remember the likeness perfectly myself, but it is at least vaguely there. Can't say the hard plastic open jointed body was a good choice -- at one time they used TBLeague bodies and this might have been a chance to get a darker one (not that they went dark enough with the skin tone on the head and hands). Those pants, however, look very much out of place (maybe suitable for an MC Hammer back up dancer?).

Is it supposed to be Peter Mensah? (the villain from tears of the sun) I'm not familiar with the source of this figure, but it looks vaguely like him.

Indeed Peter Mensah, but not Tears of the Sun -- rather the role of Oenomaus which he played in Spartacus (which fits more logically with the HH HY Romans and Gladiators theme).  Indeed Oenomaus was done 1/6 at least once before and there are other Mensah sculpts out there.  This one feels a little late though as I think Spartacus fandom may have somewhat cooled, and the figure per se doesn't seem to resonate with me as just a general trainer of gladiators etc -- maybe it could have used more accessories.

Now I'm seeing MC Hammer pants too but actually they are not too far from screen accurate -- just that the curvature of the line pattern should run outwards rather than inwards and probably they flare too much -- which all throws the look off.

For these two companies which usually do outstanding and complex costuming, this one looks like a cheap toy — plastic instead of leather? Big fail on so many fronts. Too bad.

Thanks for the photo reference MBAM. Yes, I see it is less weird than it looks (I suspected they were trying to go for an actual screen look), although even the onscreen pants are a bit questionable.
