Very cool. I believe it's the first of its kind, but what do I know? Smile As always, I would have preferred an articulated animal, but I bet this one is going to be much stabler.

This is the same company that did the lions earlier in the year. I’m really digging the direction these guys are taking, and though I don’t have any immediate plans for something like this, I’ll get at least one just to keep them working on animals other than horses, dogs and domesticated cats. I’d give anything to see a silverback gorilla in 1/6 scale, or a cheetah, tiger, rhinoceros, elephant, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, alligator...

Finally!!!!!! I have a very undetailed wooden one, which is actually just an ornament, in use with my French Foreign Legionnaires. This will be ana amazing addition and will really bring the diorama to life!

There was a 1957 episode of Have Gun Will Travel where Paladin out maneuvers a team of bad guys riding an army surplus camel.

I've already built a Richard Boone Paladin and I'm sorely tempted by this to complete a tribute. It's a great episode.

In case anyone cares, the name of the episode is The Great Mojave Chase.

Nice trip down memory lane, dadrab. I’m thinking an Arabian Nights theme myself. Or The Mummy...

Lawrence of Arabia sprang to mind, but, the one Peter O'Toole rode had only one hump. Maybe they'll do that version later.

Perhaps they are more familiar with the Bactrian (two-humped) camel in China, or consider it more iconic.

The difficulty is going to be deciding which color. I’ve seen pics of all three colors, but no explanation as to why they vary (is it breeding, elevation, temperature, season...). Maybe I’m being too picky, and I should just go for the one I like the most...

Ha! Good one.

Anyone have the Prince of Persia figure? You could always have him with it, too. Now if there was just Gemma Arterton figure...

Well, I've been putting off commenting on this (I received my Version A camel about a month ago), due to an issue. I received this the same day that I received both of my Hyenas from Alert Line (https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t731-new-product-alert-line-line-play-model-1-6-hyena-class-dog-crocuta-crocuta-2-color-al100025a-b?highlight=hyena). Unfortunately, my camel arrived with one of his hind legs broken in half -- this beast is one big solid piece of resin. I had ordered from Timewalker, and Steve said he'd contact the Distributor about getting me a replacement, or if that didn't work, something else would be worked out. Nearly a month later, and after a few emails and phone calls, I talked with Steve today. Neither of us are completely satisfied with the outcome. (Me less so than Steve -- who I feel bad for). He had been in contact with the Distributor every other day over this issue, and was at first told I could get a refund if I sent the item back. Steve didn't think this was acceptable, as the manufacturer should stand behind it's product -- and I agree with him -- so he kept on the Distributor to get an answer from the manufacturer. None came. Steve's solution, and one that I feel bad about, is that he had ordered one of these camels for himself -- though version B (darker color than the one I ordered), and he's going to send me that one (assuming it's in good condition), and take mine as his replacement (also he'll be sending me a return label for the product). I'm completely satisfied with the service and concern that Timewalker gives to their customers, but I'm a little disappointed in the "Send it back for a refund" attitude of the Distributor. I'm even less impressed with JXK (the manufacturer). As many of you know I've been one of those who has been wildly excited about all these "exotic" animals, and have been more than happy to support a company for making the effort to provide something other than dogs, domesticated cats, and horses -- but this whole situation has left a pretty unsavory taste in my mouth, and I just can't support a company that wants to play in the expensive 1/6th world if they aren't going to stand by their product. So, JXK -- if you guys are reading this: You lost a good customer with your sh#$y (or lack of) customer service.

Edited: I was too angry when I first posted.

Very sorry you had such a bad experience with something you were looking forward to so much. It is nice of Steve and Timewalker to to handle it this way, but you're right that the distributor or manufacturer ought to have replaced or refunded the item, which was either broken or packed improperly/insufficiently.

Thanks. Yeah, a big shout out to Steve/Timewalker — the service there is awesome. And, as I said, I feel bad that he’s taking my damaged one for his — but I understand his reasoning, and I’m glad to support his store.

The clothing looks like it can be removed and backpacks/satchels are always useful for many projects. The price seems ok, especially since it includes a second head.

Your contract was with Timewalker, not the supplier. The seller should have handled it entirely on his own without even mentioning the supplier. Steve should have immediately replaced or refunded the order and then taken it up with the supplier later, without you being involved. If he cops a loss, that is the cost of being a distributor/reseller. If he doesn't trust the quality of the product, he should be doing his own quality control before sending it out. It is disingenuous and unprofessional for him to be passing the buck to JXK. The responsibility is entirely his own.

I can see your point, but I don’t necessarily agree. When Hot Toys screws up on a product, regardless of where you order from here in North America, the seller has to contact the Distributor (Sideshow) to get a replacement. In the case of Sideshow and HT, SS orders more than necessary stock to accommodate not only additional sales, but any problems. In TW case, these large animals are ordered in limited numbers (ie, filling only POs), so extras aren’t just handy for replacements. The Distributor still has to be contacted, who then has to contact the manufacturer— but if the manufacturer doesn’t ever respond, or doesn’t care to back their product, I don’t see how that falls solely on the shoulders of the seller. From what Steve told me, he had sent out a number of these camels (aside from his own), and mine was the only one with an issue. I would say that the onus falls directly on the side of the manufacturer, who packaged it poorly. Car dealerships don’t eat the cost of recalled manufacturer defects — the manufacturer does. I don’t see that as passing the buck, I see that as holding the manufacturer accountable. Now, could Steve have asked me to return it from the start, and handle the situation behind the scenes, without my knowledge of the happenings, until the issue was resolved one way or another... Sure, I guess. But that wasn’t what was agreed upon by me when I first contacted him. So, if anyone’s to blame for pointing out what an irresponsible company JXK is, blame me. And frankly, I have zero problem pointing out to others that JXK likely won’t back the products folks receive if there is an issue — it’s bad business on their part, and if it means they ultimately lose further trust and business, they only have themselves to blame.

So sorry for the disappointing situation with this one. Would still be curious to see how it turned out, once you have an undamaged one.
