Description
(as listed on BBTS)
The SCP Foundation is a supra-national and supra-political organization that is responsible for capturing and containing various paranormal/supernatural phenomena unexplained by mainstream science, while also keeping their existence hidden from the rest of global human society.

Produced by Dragon Horse, a new product line of 1/12 scale action figurines has been launched based upon the world of the SCP Foundation series! As the third product of this product line, Dragon Horse brings you the 1/12 scale action figurine of Class-D personnel, a.k.a. the "human guinea pigs"!

D-Class personnel primarily handle high-risk situations involving life-threatening anomalies, performing simple tasks like facility cleaning and direct contact with SCP objects. They are often selected from death row inmates. Wearing bright orange jumpsuits, they are housed in quarters upon the completion of their duties, provided they remain alive.

This 1/12 scale action figurine is based on the appearance of former D-Class personnel, "SCP-181 'Lucky'" while "SCP-035 Possessive Mask" and "SCP-075 Corrosive Snail" are also bundled. Also included are some common tools frequently used by D-Class personnel such as mop, cleaner, and crowbar. Furthermore, a paper craft set including facility floor, bloodstain effects and SCP-075's containment case will also be included, offering excellent support for figure display and photography.

What a weird release! I'm guessing it's based on something, cause that would be too random otherwise. Laughing

The orange jumpsuits bring to mind the original GI Joe figures from the 1960s... except, with an axe and a pack of Lucky Strikes!

This whole line is based on  the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCP_Foundation.

Which is a collection of stories about various anomalies (some of which are extremely creepy, other more humorous) organized as reports written by a secret (MIB-style) organization tasked with dealing with these things and hiding them from public view.

While two previous releases were somewhat more generic (though still sourced from SCP setting), this is refers specifically to several entries from SCP wiki:

But can be used to represent class D personnel, the expendable people (often prisoners with death sentences) assigned to deal with potentially lethal events and experiments.

bounce  Ah! I remember this! In fact, I was thinking about it a few weeks ago, but could not for the life of me remember what it was called! Some online friends, quite a number of years ago now, were involved in this project, creating realistic documents about mysterious phenomena with strategically redacted content.

How could something as arcane as an online collaborative writing project spawn a line of action figures? This seems really weird and unlikely to me. Indeed, it is sufficiently weird and unlikely and implausible as to serve as the basis for a report by the SCP Foundation.

If the SCP Project can lead to action figures, what High Strangeness will we see next?

LiveJournal action figures?

43Things sculptures in anime style?

Plurk plushies?

MySpace minifigs?

Interesting set. I like that they tried to include pieces for several alternative options, but feel like they missed some obvious things, like ungloved hands. Is the floor just a piece of cardboard? It and the "stains" work effectively enough, but it's almost funny.
