Hello everyone!  Very Happy

I recently just got the interest in building 1/6 dolls, but I haven't even bought anything yet because I'm trying to be careful to not waste money on the wrong things. I know there's a lot of things to consider like skin tone, bust size and head size, so I thought of coming here for some guidance. Please give me any tips and tricks you are willing to provide!

I have two main things that I want this to revolve around : one is that I want the doll to fit most Barbie accessories (mainly the shoes since I saw there are different feet type for dolls) because I have a pile of them already which means I will spend less on buying new things for the doll, and two I would like for the head of the doll to be proportionate to the body as I feel that would bug me a lot if it's too big or small and the same goes for the skin tones of both head and body.

Here is what I plan on getting so far, please let me know if you guys have other suggestions and I'll see if I can find them in our online/local stores :

Body Options:
1. TBLeague S24A S25B S26A S27B
- https://shopee.ph/TBLeague-S24A-S25B-S26A-S27B-1-6-Scale-Super-Flexible-Female-Body-Model-12-Action-Figure-Doll-Toys-i.63630878.2141123409
2. Jiaou Doll (I'm not quite sure the version/edition)

This is the head that I want to use : SUPER DUCK SDH030
- https://shopee.ph/SUPER-DUCK-SDH030-1-6-Scale-Beauty-Girl-Head-Sculpt-Model-For-12-Female-PH-TBL-Figure-Body-i.63630878.23628729438

I saw that some Super Duck heads can have their hairs changed? I'm not sure if that goes for all the heads, but I couldn't find any that specifically said "removable scalp" yet so it would be amazing if anyone can confirm or deny this because I'm also dying to know if I can have options for hair.

Here is an example of the Super Duck scale wig I found : https://shopee.ph/1-6-Scale-Wig-For-12-Female-YMTOYS-Gactoys-Super-Duck-Head-Sculpt-Model-i.137757170.22305380825

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCED TO EVERYONE WHO WILL HELP I love you

Hello Waffles, and welcome to these boards! Very Happy

I have that head and I also have an S25B. Too late in the day for me now, but I'll see about posting a photo (tomorrow if I remember) unless someone else beats me to it. ^^

I'd wait to see what Diana shows you. Very generally speaking, Super Duck heads tend to be relatively large, and the bodies you are considering (the TBLeague ones) are petite, so make sure the head does not look too big for the body. Also, take into account how the body would be dressed (which can make a difference when it comes to proportions -- also how the clothing looks on the body). The petite bodies are indeed more likely to work with Barbie clothing than the others (more so in terms of the clothes' tightness than length) -- but I would still recommend looking at clothing made for curvy Barbies.

Thank you so much to both of you!! Smile

Here are the photos. I suppose it is a matter of taste. It could work, but it is not realistic.

And nevermind the state of the body. It's my shoe cream experiment gone wrong. Will see whether I can salvage that body. ^^

The head sits very loosely, but that can be rectified with foam etc, so the head can sit higher.

Hi Waffles, and welcome! Smile

I can confirm that the s25b (and presumably the s27b, which is smaller) can fit into certain Made-to-Move Barbie clothing. Particularly skirts and and certain dresses. The only place it gets tricky is the sleeves and maybe bust areas, so obviously can't guarantee those bodies will fit every single Barbie item, but hopefully that helps.

Another type of doll clothing that fits these two types of smaller bodies (s25b/s27b) is Obitsu clothing. Particularly Obitsu 26 and 27 clothes.

As for Barbie shoes, I'm not sure what type you are referring to. The Tbleague bodies have much bigger feet that are proportional to their bodies (compared to the tiny Barbie feet). So if we are talking about Barbie shoes that come with official Barbie outfis, then I doubt they would fit, but if you mean custom made shoes for Barbies and other similar fashion dolls, that might work depending on the make. But you might end up having to alter some of the feet (like shaving off toes, etc).

Thank you everyone who helped! I will update here once I've made up my mind on all the purchases Cool

Barbie shoes would almost never work. Maybe Barbie sandals of some kinds would, especially since these are the smallest of TBLeague's feet.

Diana -- maybe you could apply oil pastel to the body and fix it (not sure it will take after the shoecream).

On wigs, Monique Doll Wigs are excellent quality - they have 4” size made for Barbie/integrity toys which should work on action heads? They don’t have that fleshy transition and more options for colours and styles. No longer in production sadly, but you can find them on eBay or specialist doll sites like fleurdelys dolls (France). Good luck!
