Predator Killer Armour WIP New Armour Idea...

Again from the 2018 movie, this is what the Predators were fighting over, one wanted to give it to the humans for a fairer fight against the new genetically modified Predators (GMP), whilst the GMPs didn't like the idea or their creators didn't so that GMP aka Assassin Predator was tasked with retrieving the technology before the humans could use or understand it.

The suit gets revealed at the very end of the film after both Predators are dead so we only briefly see it morph onto an unsuspecting scientist in the lab like a nanotech suit, display itself in all its glory then return to its container, a hovering mini craft/drone that was inside the recovered escape pod. The hero of the movie (an Army Ranger) declares that he wants the suit so perhaps if we get a sequel we will see more of it.

I've got to go through all these boxes of SCI-FI related build parts that are surrounding me at the moment, to build just one suit! LOL.






















To build this or something inspired by it at least as I may invoke my right to artistic license periodically!  

I've been slowly whittling my parts mountain to a parts hill... still got all the Bionicles type stuff to go through..and the rest... I'm also keeping parts out for my Chopper and Celtic Predator mods/builds.

Well I've been itching to do another mechanical build as those are my favourites and this ties in well with the last two builds as well as scratching that itch! I'll get back to the Dwarves after this, do a few then take a break and do my Punisher builds, then back to hopefully finish the Dwarves.

This has always been one of the creepiest horror characters for me and you did an excellent job putting chills up and down my spine! Wow!

Another amazing adventure is about to begin. Man, I wish I had your drive.

Cheers! I'm just a person of extremes, no moderation at all, used to be a party animal now I'm a hermit! LOL a blessing and a curse, often for others too!

Done an initial mock up, the armour will be shades of silver then parts covered in black netting to keep with the Predator look and concept art; I also think the netting has something to do with the camouflage technology like a wire mesh grid, I'll use hoses as the dredds but they will serve as a life support system with built in chemical stimulant boosters for added endurance, these will be connected to supply canisters on his back. I need to create the tricky exoskeleton piston system that dramatically increases the human wearer's strength and speed as well as mini thrusters for jumping and sudden manoeuvrers. Going to change the boots for armoured tabi boots.

Pretty slick progress already. I haven’t seen the movie yet (I’m a little concerned after all the bad reviews), but I guess I had no idea that a human can now wear the Predator armor. Was that how the movie ended? With a setup for the next sequel?

Yup, that's exactly what happened which is why even though it got bad press I really hope there's a sequel, would love to see this suit in action! As for watching the movie, it's you time to use as you wish but I recommend it as a great fun romp with a good cast (Thomas Jane is really funny as he suffers from tourette syndrome which is not a mockery as Shane Black the director actually has tourettes). There are plenty of funny/cheesy (on purpose 80's style) references back to the original film and yet it's still an 'R' rated movie so plenty of violence and gore with really cool special effects. It won't win any Oscars but it won a place in my favourite movies of 2018.
Just down load it, we all know how to do that .

This is already looking like a ton of fun!

I do need to see the new movie too. Bad reviews rarely scare me off.

Thanks! And glad to hear bad reviews don't put you off, I'd never watch anything if they put me off, critics are paid to be critical! Usually are fed up watching films anyway!

Spent most of yesterday juggling figures, literally in some cases while balancing on a ladder over a glass table! Ended up removing half the figures from the table so I could pull it out of the way since it weighs a tonne! After a lot of shuffling and figure repairs (HT Alien Warrior found new places to break, cloaked Predator had warped and wouldn't stand up as he's really heavy and the City Hunter Predator needed his head glued on, also had to take parts from the Celtic Predator for the Chopper Predator build and make room for that figure when he's finished too..) I managed to fit my two new Predators on the top shelf as the Assassin is way too tall for the other shelves. I stole the armoured tabi boots from my Harradim Wraith and gave him a pair of black tabi boots so I can use the more SCI-FI looking boots on my Predator Killer Armour (PKA). I also started work on turning the HC Scar Predator into the Chopper Predator and need to make a net gun gauntlet for my Celtic Predator.

The fact that you can remember which Predator is which is remarkable. Sounds like you have even more work ahead of you.

That figure looks great already, fine work as ever.

LOL, I've got a few.. 5 custom ones now too not including the 3 I'm working on now, well the PKA isn't technically a Predator but in the same family of my collection. You should see the NECA line up of Predators! They have them all from the movies, comics, computer games, special editions, even ones from a fan made film.

Thank you and good to hear from you Peter! I'll get back to the Dwarves next as I explained above.

Since rubber and paint don't mix I'm using tight elasticated silver material (from Doctor Evil 9" figures of all things!) to make some of the armour I can't paint silver, it seems to show off the texture of the armour well enough. Cut down the torso armour to add articulation and allow the crotch armour to fit better. Ideally i'd like the guns to be a combo of the two diaclone ones and the MSG ones but only have one MSG and to get another is expensive and would have to be ordered from Japan, so I've gone through my cheapo weapons bag to find as many matching pairs of rifles that might work with the diaclone rifles instead; still undecided what I'll end up using. The hs has the look of a guy who's been up against Predators before and has a reason to hate them, perfect to pilot the suit imo.

Sorting out helmet parts now, I want the faceplate on a hinge so it can open upwards.

You have been a busy bunny! Nice to see you found an immaculate BBI G3 among that lot. One of mine has gone AWOL and the other was one of the brittle ones and has fallen apart. I can see another winning Chop build emerging from this, just what we like to see!

Nice car collection and paint on the Wolf Man! About as dusty as my General Grievous and Battle Droids shelf! I really need to sort that out! Been meaning to make his lair like he has in The Clone Wars with all the spare Hasbro and Kotobukia GG parts I have. Those aren't G3's mate or BBI, they're cheap bendy GI Joe/Action Man type rubbish not really scale versions of any existing rifles but they have a bit of a G3 vibe to them I guess, like the other black ones sort of look like SA80's. Talking of guns... just ordered two new gas blow backs, a Black P90 (go Stargate!) and a black SCAR-H! Some really nice kit!! I seem to be on a Belgian binge this month with FN Herstal!

Actually a lot of my Prequel stuff is looking pretty dusty!! It's the Dremel's fault I swear! LOL.

The Ollie Reed bust was the last thing I did before my eyes went. I will pick up my brushes again when I move. I'll also find something less dusty to put my figures in.

Wow it never ends. You really know your predators. The Dust Wars Collection is also very impressive.

And I watched the whole Predator-Type video. As someone who only knows the original Arnie movie, I am even more confused than before. xD

Well done for making it through the video! The 'super model' is a character called Machiko, Hot Toys made a really nice figure of her which I also have.





I've been building his helmet harness and hinge system, I'll put a balaclava under the 'metal' parts, not doing a Robocop, screws are just convenient, I'll hide them later.

Cheers Mark! I can't take any credit for the faceplate as that was sculpted, cast and painted by a very talented guy on eBay some years back, so were the other ones in the pics towards the top. I did however get a hinge system working that seems to blend in with the design well and even complement it by echoing the shape. It's just parts of a cut down bionicle foot that happens to fit just right in between the two struts of the other bionicle part I used as the back of the helmet.

That’s an impressive solution using the Bionicle parts.

A bit of luck too as they aren't meant to be a hinge, the decorative disks on the toes just happened to pop perfectly in place between the two struts under the correct tension. Added his coif, hoses next..
