Hello!
I've divided this in two, first part is how I'm doing here in PR, second part is about the wall, they've been highligted with the good ol' bold button.
What's been going on in Puerto Rico and how my family and I have been dealing with.

I would like to start by saying that this week hasn't been the most permisive when it comes to me spending time doing things, as some of you may know Jan 7 an earthquake hit the southern part of Puerto Rico, while I live in the north (Arecibo) it still shook my bed like if 7 little dwarves where on top of it jumping, after that there's been a few we have felt up here tho all of them are felt down south where the towns of Guanica, Guayanilla, Ponce, Peñuelas and Mayaguez have suffered the most, other towns such as Utuado have also reported some damages. Power for us came last night after a 5.2 shake that jerked me off my seat and instantly led me to putting on my hardhat grabbing my backpack and getting all others up and ready to go.
While the situation hasn't been the best I've still spent some time doing stuff to keep the mind occupied with something else that isn't "Is it going to shake?", "Is my family in Utuado fine?" all those questions run around the mind and can break you down so spending some time coming up with stuff is a good way to relax and a good way to save data and electricity. Hopefully all of this will come to pass and we can return to a more normal state of life where we aren't tense or so alert that the mere pressure of the wind makes one jump off the seat.

Why did I make this wall? The answer is simple I think, I've built smaller dioramas and bases before, mostly in the 1/32 scale range but also using plastic soldiers. Back when I started to post photos I knew that the canvas cloth I use would get stale and fast, I could switch it for another color but to me that's a bit boring and too sterile looking. So after some inspiration doing a small house for christmas (a gift to my mother's christmas village) I decided to tackle this, I chose foam board as it is easy to work with, durable I have very easy access to.
I don't have any photos of the early stages as I always forget to get those, I pealed the glossy cover on the ghostline foam core (22 x 28 inches) in order to get a nice rough surface, I then added created the supports out of a thinner piece of foam board which I reinforced the inside with pieces of cardboard then hotglued to the back. After that was done I went over it with some spackling which I applied with my hands since using a spatula would result in a smoother finish which I did not want. Once dried I remembered that the moisture in the spackling would warp the board so I had to reinforce the back with some hot glued large icepop sticks (no biggie), once that dried I applied some slightly watered down PVA glue (white glue) to hold the spackling in place so I could paint it more easily.

The windows are also made of the same thinner foam core, a coat of PVA mixed with black paint to help see any missed spots and then another coat of black and then silver, I haven't weathered them yet or added any special details like warning tapes or anything but I do plan on it. Each window has a magnet that allows it to be sticked anywhere in 9 different magnetic spots in the wall, this will allow me to move both windows and any other pieces around.
Well that's all for today, I was originally going to post this on Wednesday but due to the lack of electricity and all the stuff that was going on I didn't so instead I post it today on my usual figure friday/saturday. I hope to get back to posting figures once this is over, as always stay safe out there and try to have some fun.
