Hot Toys Life Size Baby Groot - *At the German North Coast* (1 Nov 2022)

well, having just posted 1:6 Groot and Rocket from my archive, my big Baby Groot screams for some screen time too.

I have briefly searched for pics of Hot Toys‘ Life Size Baby Groot on this board but have not found any. Wonder what I have done wrong - I am sure there should be some? We will see. I will search again.

But for now some of the pics I took when I got him. Still love him but have not taken any new pics for quite a while now...

How adorable!! All the pics are excellent, though my faves are actually him eating the candies along with him reaching for that butterfly with his long tree fingers and then having it all fall on him in a pile. So freakin' cute! :'D

Given his popularity (Hot Toys did a second edition/ slim version of him after all), I would have expected some folks on the board would have him. As he is life size you do not need to scale dioramas which makes taking pics that much easier.


Here is one of two more comprehensive „shootings“ with him, telling a basic story.

A long while ago our cellar was in a particularly - greatly above average - cluttered state and badly needed some clearance. I thought this to be a good opportunity to put Groot into his Ravager outfit and get going...

Not a great start as he did not seem to like his outfit:



However, he did not have much time to start complaining as some distraction on 8 legs caught his attention...













































... better late than never it became clear we needed to get out of the cellar lest we risk serious injuries (and an even bigger mess than before)

LOL I know I said it, but I'll say it again. Cuteness Incarnate yet again. I liked seeing him interact with the environment. And with the (fake?) spider.

More cute pics. Love all the mischief he got up to — though finding the severed thumb is a bit creepy. Did he ever catch the spider?

So cute!!! I was just thinking "this doesn't look much like work or cleaning up", but then you basically said it.

Especially loved the dowel and cable shots. Very inspired.

Oh my gosh, these are just incredible. He feels so lifelike....the different/swappable mouths and fingers make a huge difference in that regard. And the poses and scenarios are all just delightful!

It is a fake spider, yes, fortunately.
No, so far he has not caught it.

as for the severed thumb: I just assume that most of you are familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 ... for those who are not: that is a reference to a scene in the movie where he is supposed to find a particular item and returns with various useless stuff, including a severed thumb/finger
(I just thought it would work nicely with the electric saw. )

He sure seems to like to go exploring.

The very first item I made myself was for Baby Groot in March 2018. I made a walkman for him.





I am not sure where he picked this up - as The Bangles are not part of any of the Starlord's "Awesome Mix" tapes - but he seems to have seen it someplace...









too bad the batteries are low that quickly...



I know I could easily make up the following and it is hard to believe but it is true:
when I went back inside after taking the pics, The Bangles' "Walk like an Egyptian" had been playing on the radio. That was a bit creepy. Given the song's age, it is rarely heard on the radio anymore... I would say not even twice a year...
