Excited for the Fennic! I already PO'd the double pack so I don't really need this even though it does look awesome!

Right there with you. I hope she actually gets put up for PO (unlike the teased in the foreground but never put up for PO Bespin Han Solo).

Can someone explain the pricing to me: how the hell does that completely unnecessary Dr. Strange Iron Man cost $440, but this Boba with the throne is $390…?

I just want the throne.

The throne is very cool, but I also love the unmasked head sculpt. By the way, thank you jaztermareal, for posting these.

I would say that it is mainly down to demand and supply. The usual reason for such pricing. Iron anything sells.

I think the head is actually one of the best head sculpts HT has done. I came here to see what folk were saying about the figures but there weren't any threads on them so thought i'd get the ball rolling Smile

I broke down and POd the Deluxe of this, even though I already have the previous version of Mando Boba on PO. That throne and this look (along with Fennic) is something that I can actually use in my Jabba diorama if I feel like switching things up.

Also understandable. The throne is very sweet, and I noticed the little monster heads are actually quite close, design-wise, to the ones on Jabba's platform, a little bit like a cross between those and a diminutive Rancor hear. Is there enough overlap to just cancel your previous PO or are you going to be selling it? Or build a Boba Fett army? Smile

I POd both through Timewalker, so I’m not inclined to cancel my POs, even though there is definitely some overlap. I can always use some parts, or one of them as a whole, for my Darth Stryker universe — need some villains after all.

That is commendable of you. And looking forward to seeing what you come up with as custom characters. By the way, the usual places have been parting out a bearded version of the Darth Stryker head. Wink

For anyone curious. Ming Na Wen's character (Fennic Shand) is getting her figure made. Received the email from Sidshow today to sign up for the RSVP for when the PO goes live.

To be fair no official HT announcement yet so not certain it will happen yet (I am 99% sure it will be announced and put up for order but there is still the small chance it gets stuck in development limbo like so many others. just look at sideshows coming soon list for many M.I.A. figures HT decided to skip)

If it happens I am interested just so long as there is an unhelmeted Ming Na headsculpt

Like jaz, if she comes with an unhelmeted head -- absolutely. If it doesn't, then no.

Makes sense. I looked her up. She has the potential of being a relatively interesting character in a collection -- remember, I'm talking without any actual knowledge of the series. But, yes, such a thing is truly worth it if there is an unmasked head sculpt.

Sweet shot, interesting lighting. I take it your Boba is going to be a lot cooler than the one in the series. I happened across a series of YouTube reviews that eviscerated it. I know that there is room for different perspectives, but that was convincing enough for me.

Yeah, sadly, I’ve heard nothing good about The Book Of Boba Fett. So like a lot of things that those worthless a-holes at Disney and Lucasfilm are doing lately, I’ll just think of these characters on my own terms.

That photo is awesome! Love the attitude. Very Happy

And while there were some cringe-worthy moments in The Book of Boba Fett, I did enjoy the show very much. Sadly it's difficult to not be pulled out of the moment when there are certain modern day (fiction) elements like cowboys, biker gangs, etc. presented in such a on-the-nose way. We get it! Star Wars did have the certain inspirations, but it was so subtle that many had to watch behind the scenes type stuff and interviews to realize it. Now you can't even ignore it. Have they never heard of "Don't change a running system"? Why did they feel the need to change strategies here?

But I think at least a few of these campy characters came over from The Clone Wars, where they were popular, no? (I've only seen a few episodes.)

Anyway, bottom line: I enjoyed it. Many beautiful moments that made up for the other stuff.

Diana, you identify a major source of the complaints, but while even the Original Trilogy displayed serious problems with plausibility and plot armor, apparently this is on a whole different scale. I'll spare you the links, lest they detract from your basically positive experience. I like that some of these new Star Wars-themed shows often look more like classic Star Wars than what we have seen since the 1980s, but looking is not always enough. Smile

Haha, I guess he is having his Kneepad Rockets reloaded by his servants! Jabba will love him by his side looking menacing.

Yeah the show looked beautiful sometimes but it was all over the place and had no real focus. I think it got much worse in Obi Wan.

But seriously, my space fairy tale friends, if you want good Star Wars watch Andor. It's by far the best thing out there period. It's very different from the other more campy/fan service heavy shows, it feels more like a dystopic Spy Thriller. It has the best writing, casting and acting in all Star Wars I have seen yet. It's a slow burner with great payoffs. Characters feel like real people and not like cartoon villians. The Empire is competent and terrifying. Underground resistance movements have different approaches and are not united. Cat and mouse game between agents. We see a lot of bleak every day life under Imperial rule. We have Mon Mothma for the politics in beautiful Coruscant set pieces and costumes. It can be quite brutal for Star Wars. It's taking itself quite seriously, killing is no fun adventure. Look and minimalistic music create a somber atmosphere with a spark of hope. George Lucas might not like it though as it's less morally clear and probably kids wouldn't like it.
It's at 10 of 12 episodes of season 1 and Episode 10 was the best TV I watched this year. And I didn't really care about the character of Cassian Andor before.
And don't waste too much time on YouTube reviews (they often thrive on negativty anyway for clicks and will probably spoiler) just trust me and watch the first three episodes in a binge.

[/Crusade end] :p

tl, dr : watch Andor
