Lovely. I'll look into those. Never can have enough code cylinders.

Neat stuff. Have you considered doing some of the background droids or scene/set elements?

I'm hoping for some simple set elements, but haven't gotten around to supplying him with a proper presentation.

added more, this time DC15-S's since I was asked previously on a different site to do it (I did already 55% of it done already for my DC15-X so thought why not)

Did both the typical DC15-S Carbine plus the Book of Boba Fett version in 3 variants each (no stock, folded stock and open stock) plus loaded the folded and open stocks only in case they are of use.

Well, I have been told that I may need to thicken the 1:12 ones up to avoid print failures so I am still a noob if making such fatal error. I will update the blasters over time with thicker stocks and trigger guards etc.

jaztermareal

jaztermareal
Been busy revising my models to be thicker so they don't easily break at 1:12 and 1:6 scale. If anyone here was planning to print any files I uploaded please check you have the revised versions if applicable so you are safe from missing trigger guards etc.

Fingers crossed no more noob mistakes going forward.

EDIT: and I think this may be the last of my existing models to be updated to address thickness unless I missed one. Although intended as a fix for 1:12 scale this file can be used for 1:6 (scale to 200% before printing) if you want a sturdier version for your 1:6 figures. Back to new model making after this!

Thanks! I just want to make stuff folk can use for customs without them having to pay. Free files for as long as possible is my plan.

Those are actually very nice, good job!

I'm curious, I wonder what the differences would be if they were printed by a normal 3D printer (one that is fed plastic via spool) vs one that prints via resin. As far as I know, printing via resin produces smoother, more accurate results, but if they work on normal 3d printers, that would be super awesome!

I think they should be able to print on FDM printers but no idea if the result would be any good at small scales given all the layer lines. Worth a try maybe. Powder or resin printers are the way to go for miniature items. Resin printers are getting more and more affordable as the years go by and the resins available now are awesome (some resins are flexible, some are for joints as they do not grind down, some are really tough, some show fine detail etc etc)

My latest model: the 1990's Kenner POTF2 Stormtrooper rifle. I am nostalgic for this rifle so decided to make it. I plan to print it 1:6 scale.

I have uploaded it as 1 piece and parts in both 1:6 and 1:1 (provided my calculations are correct) as well as thicker 1 piece version for 1:12. All 3 sizes include optional strap.

Thanks Smile I may need to adjust the scale then re-up as I think it looks a little large in the photo from someone who printed it. May revise the others too to make sure they are all properly scaled

Thanks!

I have since added 4 variants (because I like making variants):

No folding stock attachment (to make it more pistol like) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5399042

Been updating all the Force Unleashed phase 3 clone armour parts and they should now all be scaled to 1:12, 1:6 and 1:1. I also created from scratch a new version of the shoulder pad which has better thickness for figure use and also includes an extra thick version in case extra strength is needed : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5414220

Very nice parts. I'm not collecting SW stuff from that trilogy (etc) but I know many do, and even I could use that last pistol.

Thanks Smile I do intend to make more original trilogy items too, I just have a huge list of things to make so am working through the list one item at a time. Also been updating regularly items already made to fix issues I noticed. Hopefully by the time I post more OT items my skills will be a bit better too Smile

I have opened a shapeways store for those who do not have a 3D printer and will (slowly) be uploading models there over the next few days. Since I have not been able to test print anything yet I may hold off uploading certain models I feel could be problematic until I can get confirmation that they print ok.

here is my first item (phase 3 shoulder pad) which is my test to see how this all works, I will likely upload the rest of the parts tomorrow when I have more time
