Nice looking horses Stryker! Seems you got a nice pile o stuff arriving!

I quite like that Peggy head sculpt better on the figure than the original Winona!

Glad to see your horses arrived, Stryker. They look nice. Sorry for the disappointment about the colours, but unfortunately Mr. Z is very inconsistent when it comes to the horses' coat colours, and their interpretation of 'bay' coats seems to be something they really struggle with. For what it's worth, the Akhal-Teke colouring seems the more realistic of the two, but the 'red' one is ok, too. If it were me, I'd probably customise the 'red' horse into a dark chestnut by re-hairing it with a flaxen mane and tail. It would probably look quite similar to Delanie's Illi horse that way.

Re: the Mina Harker.... the Hayley Atwell head looks a lot more convincing on it!

This J Scott Campbell Red Riding Hood statue went up recently (part of the Fairytale Fantasies by Sideshow):

So, I decided to pick this up from MonstersInMotion (it was their last one/warehouse find) to go with it -the Mezco The Wolfman from 2009, based on the Benicio Del Toro movie - in the meantime I have it with this early Phicen (pre-TBLeague) Red Riding Hood:

Red Riding Rood is another Xenoscope character from Phicen’s run on Grimm’s Fairy Tales along with Robyn Hood, Van Helsing, Dante, and one other that I can’t remember.

It’s very encouraging to see that there’s no faking or peeling on the pleather after all of these years.

Yeah, as I mentioned in the flaking pleather thread, ideal environmental conditions helps more than anything.

Davidd helped me recently track down a sculpt, (huge thanks!) that MiskatonicNick used for his Victor Champion character. I have copied the outfit Davidd used his his version, should come in handy for crossovers in our comic Very Happy . I re-bodied mine using an M33.

Nice. That’s a great head sculpt, and fits that big burly look perfectly.

It's a cool sculpt. I think I have one somewhere. Always thought it might come in handy if I did an Assyrian king or something along these lines. Nicely used, and seems to be appreciated even by your sixth-scale ladies.

That would be an interesting custom figure Ian. Do you think you will ever create the figure?
Yeah, the ladies are certainly impressed by Victor, I guess it's all his tales of adventure that interests them bounce

That’s not a Richard Marchinko sculpt is it? It reminds me of a figure I had back in the day.

Maybe this version of him is more considerate of their feelings. Smile I don't know if and when I would get to such a custom; currently working (on and off) on a pharaoh. And that is definitely not the sculpt for one of those -- unless he were a Persian ruler of Egypt... Smile

I always wondered if an alternate universe existed where that holds true.  Although going on 31 years of mariage, I guess the good guys do win eventually.

Deluxe Legolas: Battle of Helm's Deep from Asmus arrived yesterday. Sorry for crap photos, I really need to get off my lazy ass and change out the backdrop to something darker instead of using the packing foam that the whole thing arrived in. A couple quick shots -- my one nit is the floor of the base needs to be double the size (since it's so high with the Orc ladder that it won't fit in a typical Detolf anyway, to accommodate the "torch" and for more dynamic poses. Otherwise, it's a really cool figure and diorama.

Thanks, Alex. Yeah, he's pretty cool. And I'm so glad Asmus went with the combination hair (sculpted/real) this time, as it makes posing him a thousand times easier.

I finally managed to get out First Contact Picard & Data, so here's a couple quick pics to show them off.

These Star Trek figures turned out quite decent.  Your Latest Purchase... - Page 23 1f44d As a big fan, I should really add some to my collection.

Here is a little update on the Mina Harker headsculpt, I have recently purchased (see above).

Your Latest Purchase... - Page 23 51628376622_393040b976_kCJ3A3052 by Randam Hajile, auf Flickr

I was going for a Winona's "Reality bites"-haircut and trimmed the head, so that I could mount the hair pieces from a HT "Resident Evil Alice"-figure. I also repainted the eyebrows slightly. While it's not perfect, I think it is already an improvement. Still, the mouth on the headsculpt is slightly to small ... but there is very little to be done about it.

Very nice work, Randam. Definitely an improvement. You are the master of the molded hair transplant, among other things. If you make this a permanent character, perhaps consider how to make the head sit just a little lower on the neck.

Thanks for the nice feedback!

@Gubernatorfan
You are right that the head sat quite high on the S33 body in this photo. I corrected it in consequent pictures, but then found that the light in the initial series of photos was better. Crying or Very sad It sometimes drives me crazy how every flaw (dust etc.) is revealed in toy photography.

Here is a shot with correctly seated head (but ugly ankles):

Randam, I'm glad you caught it yourself and are able to rectify it. And that seated photo is very nice. Yes, if one looks for it, one can see the ankles. But you know what? I'd rather have (or see someone have) a functional action figure that can stand than perfect ankles that are good for nothing but lying about. Wink Your photography is beautiful anyway.

Where would Professor Victor Champion be without his loyal companion, Louis Marques? Adventurer, explorer, playboy, suave Frenchman, debonair hero and member of the Royal Kadath Society.
