That might be useful, but at a fairly late stage of the process.

I have done a bunch of rehairs over the years, but always going from plastic molded hair to real hair (like Sky mentioned). At any rate, some of the steps (past getting rid of the original hair) would be the same. Here are a few of the more informative ones I've posted --

Halfway down here I’ve got a step by step of how I rerouted a silicone scalp on a Kumik head with mohair if that’s any use!

Arnold works well, given the type of Warrior hair required - slightly messy, wind-swept, in a time when shampoo as we know it had not been invented.

Bucky Barnes - i sense a slightly darker shade of hair color would have fitted better with the front plastic hair area.

Aquaman - the best of the bunch. The real hair with product works very well on his head.

Tibetan mohair, punching it in. That must have taken some time. The results were worth it.
When my head sculpt and wig arrive, i will attempt to make the wig work! without the need for hole punching.

You can adjust the look by adjusting the amount of hair product (conditioner) that you use. The more hair product, the wetter, more condensed look. Keep in mind these are macro photos, and things tend to look better in hand -- at any rate, I consider Bucky close enough. I was too worried about it, I could have just whittled off the leftover sculpted hair -- but I find it helps to keep it in such a spot, especially as it was already there to begin with. For Aquaman, I had to mix two or three hair colors to get the highlights look about right.

I don't know if it is mohair. The Morezmore method is with lamb hair. You don't need hole punching, glue works.

It was mohair I used, but not the tibetan lambs wool kind, I got this from a doll hair stockist here in the UK and I think it’s from goats, and isn’t curly. It’s definitely a little harder to work with in some ways but it’s definitely far more realistic than synthetic hair. Punching in the fibre did take a while but it’s exactly the right kind of thing to do whilst watching/listening to a podcast or something so I quite enjoyed it!

I like the results of both tibetan lamb hair and actual mohair, even if I tend to use more of the lamb hair since i'm used to how it reacts to various products, etc.

Kudos for having the patience to punch the hair in all the holes, I'm wayyy too lazy for that. Perfectly happy to just glue it directly onto the head. 😅

Oh trust me, I much prefer gluing it in some ways, BUT, rooting it means you don’t need to be so worried about the glue loosening over time or discolouring.

My 1st scalping..

At first i thought the plastic that held the hair in place was held/glued in too tight.
Using a letter opening knife, i pushed around at the lower neck area. Within 30 seconds, the whole hair piece popped off! Smile

Next comes the difficult part, attaching the new black hair piece (when it arrives..)
Assuming all works out well, the plan is to trim the hair into a different style.
