See subject.

We've all read instances of how some collectors experienced a quality mishap with the VERYCOOL female bodies where the arm separates from the connection that is attached to the torso at the shoulder level.

It's basically a "peg" component that appears to be fragile.

I too had that mishap today when handling "Villa".

My situation though was not that severe, but I had to partially undress her to access the breakage area.

I didn't take any photos, but the left arm section fell out where one piece of the peg was stuck on the upper component attached to the shoulder/torso area.  I managed to insert the arm back in, but connection was a bit loose.

I used some LOCTITE control gel and sparingly applied it to the interior section and reattached the arm. I gently rotated the arm as the LOCTITE dried to build tension and ensure its functionality and placement.  It held firm and was not loose.

Problem resolved.

I had to redress Villa and futz with her a bit.

I believe the problem is common among all VERYCOOL female bodies and it's due to design and quality of the plastic used.

I consider myself very fortunate it was an easy fix for me.

I guess this incident is now forcing me to spend a bit more time with Villa get her fully decked out.

She's been chatting with "Nachshol" since she arrived and they're both giving me angry looks and corralling the other 1:6 military female figures into a #meonesixthtoo movement demanding I spend more time with them.

It does seem to be a pretty unfortunate circumstance with the bodies used by quite a few companies.

That's a shame, so, is there a body that can serve as a replacement?

Shouldn't they be demanding you spend less time with them and keep your paws off them? Even when you are trying to help? Wink Glad you were able to fix it. I, for one, did not know this was a common issue, and will have to be careful with my three VC figures.

I have a friend that uses plastic wrap to deal with loose joints. He'll wrap the ball before popping it back into the socket, and it's often enough to tighten the joint up a bit. you can trim off any excess, and it's a bit more forgiving than glue. Not always the right fix, but it's a good other option to have. I know I've used too much glue in the past, and created a bigger issue, so thought i'd pass that trick along.

Only one of my VC figures has had a problem. The first Shooter developed some splits around her neck. Maybe I had her in a shooting stance for too long. It was simple enough to replace the body as they're not expensive.

Yet another alternative to the plastic wrap is to use Teflon plumber's tape to tighten up the fit of socket type joints. I've been using this for years.
