The Dark Side of Kamiko and the alliance against Redbox

This is meant to provide a bit of context to those of you who are not on AMMO but have been following the Joint Comics between BAMCOMIX, Kimono Troop Command and SCU HQ and others and is meant to explain some of the sub currents in those stories. What follows started off rather spontaneously and independently as part of as part of a seemingly unrelated thread which veered way off into deep left field but eventually developed into several collaborative projects between our HQ's. What started it all, was an encrypted video message by Demetri Redbox, giving advice on how to be a bad guy. As luck would have it, both BAM HQ and Kimono Troop had broked the encryption and were listening in. So as you will notice, the first set of images in this thread were created by Dal, not me, though in reality they were part of a much longer thread posted by another AMMO member and which had nothing to do with the topic at hand.

It was great to explore one of my more evil and sly characters! I will get to posting some more updates soon!

Mister Redbox has rubbed a number of characters the wrong way:

With this much grand-standing and bragging, it's arguably difficult to see who's the good guy, and who the bad. But I suppose nowadays it's all about blurred lines. The collaboration in such projects is quite impressive.

Only some of this was collaborative, although some more of that is coming. A lot of it was just back and forth and one upmanship, but those of us involved know each other's characters and the parameters of each other's little universes (which we've pretty much integrated with our own) that we know how to respond without crossing over any red lines. As I've stated many times, I look at this as sort of playing with our figures like when we were kids, except instead of playing with the kid next door, we are playing with (overgrown) kids thousands of miles away from us. It's worked out pretty well so far.

The point here, fellow OSF-ers... that sounds oddly impolite, doesn't it? Anyway, the point is that photo-stories, even interactive photo-stories, do not need to be complex or sophisticated or difficult or fancy. Set your character or figure in place, snap a few pictures, and think to yourself, "how would this character respond to what we have just seen?" Then write it down and post it up!

That statement so completely and succinctly encapsulates our approach.

That was a particularly fun collaboration also, and a revealing one as well.

True. Kamiko has yet to stop spitting poison and Redbox has not stopped getting under her skin.

The shadowy lighting in Kamiko's scenes in this segment is superb, suggesting late afternoon, or perhaps early morning.

Early Morning. Note That Kamiko greets Jenna with "Konichiwa" which is "Good afternoon" because it would be afternoon in the UK, but Jenna answers with "Ohayo gozaimasu" which is "good morning" because it would be very early morning in New Mexico.

Impressive attention to detail! Nice!

It certainly was an interesting chapter, that's for sure. This is the point where Jenna and Kamiko form what I am sure is to become a lasting friendship.

Yes. Whereas Michiko is family, Miyori and Gogo are friends from Kamiko's years spent in Japan, Jenna being American, from California and, like Kamiko from northern California as well as probably around the same age, Jenna would be someone to whom Kamiko could relate to for the American part of her life experience. While Laura is also from California, she is from Southern California, under Kamiko's command, and far too much the nerd and geek for Kamiko to relate to the way she might relate to Jenna. Furthermore, they both care about Jake, albeit for different reasons; Jenna because she is his girlfriend: Kamiko because she has a deep respect for him as a soldier and considers him something an irreplaceable asset to their joint cause.

A great comic and read, you guys put some great scenes and take some fantastic shots it's beautiful work.
