I wonder how much of an improvement there will be. I actually don't find their current bodies that bad, but I know they are not well-liked by some collectors. If they are not expensive, they will do (especially with the double joints) for fully-covered up characters.

I’ve never been a fan of their bodies — they are usually floppy garbage. If these are an improvement, and I’ll probably try at least ONE to find out, then they may be acceptable for background, fully clothed, figures. But for anything important, I’ll stick to TBLeague and WorldBox. But, yeah, I’m skeptical if these will be anything but the cheap fodder that’s already on the market.

Hmm, odd that they made them noticeably smaller/shorter. One of my custom Anakin's is on a coomodel body, and I'd consider swapping it for one of these upgrades, but it's kinda annoying that it would not be an exact size match. I'll still consider it though if it's enough of an improvement.

(And yes, I know there are better bodies out there, but I've already tried using both tbleague and worldbox for this particular figure, only to run into compatibility issues with the Hot Toys footwear.)

Aside from any other considerations, with TBL female bodies being so tall, how is making a male body more incompatible by making it smaller an improvement?

No potential at all to mix brands for scenes there.

And these still seem pretty generic in terms of body design, there's nothing approaching the variety that Worldbox offers.

Received a couple of these bodies. The MB001 (Standard) & the MB003 (Muscled) bodies.

Pros: Stiffer joints & toe articulation in the feet to help with the atypical one-knee on the ground while shooting pose we often see.

Cons: Pretty short -- shorter than most male bodies, pretty close to the same height as a female TBLeague S12D body (didn't shoot comparisons with those, but stood it up against one). The coloring is weird -- it's similar, in some ways, to the TBLeague suntan (a shiny grayish cream color), that doesn't suit any of the male heads on the market. These bodies, though more muscular perhaps, would work for shorter men, but then you'd have to find heads to work with them, and you'll probably have to paint the exposed parts of the bodies to match.

Overall impression: Aside from the stiffer joints these bodies are still a waste of money to me (unless one is going to cover up the entire thing completely, and don't mind how short they are).



I did make some comparison shots against a couple WorldBox bodies for side-by-side viewing.

Here's a size comparison of the WorldBox bodies with most of their other bodies for some reference as to height differences.

It's quite an odd decision to make them so short. The only COOmodel bodies I own are the old 'extra tall' types. I wonder why they didn't offer a tall or extra tall one as an option on this supposed 'new and improved' version?

They did offer a "taller" version, I just didn't PO any of those, as I wanted to see what these were like before committing. Now that I have them, I won't be getting any further. Too bad, they are a "cheaper" alternative to WorldBox, but the off-putting color and height is an issue for me. (I guess I've been spoiled by TBL & WB like many folks).

Thanks for the mini review, Mark. They actually look reasonably good, and as you say might work for fully covered-up characters. Perhaps you can find some ankle pegs that fit and use them to increase the height (slightly), as done with some other bodies (HT, DAM).
