Since you guys are already here, any advice is welcome. I only know what to do to a very limited extent.

You're going great guns so far, all I can really think of is for you to keep it up. Maybe, if DFC is up for it, a Loose Bits or Non 1/6 section. There are some exciting things coming from DAM and Coomodel in the realm of 1/12 and members with less space and money might want to know about them.

So I have sent out some informal invitations to several prolific members of the old forum, asking them to check this out. If they join and start posting on here, I suppose we can make a more general/open invitation. Perhaps this will take off, and hopefully, though more remedial, it will not suffer from the troubles experienced by the old forum (I, for one, am so tech un-savvy, that I will not be messing with much, if anything) .

No problem, I've posted a link on The March Up Country on FB, so, we'll see what happens. Once a few key players are in place, I see no reason why others won't follow.

Roger, I agree in principle about these basic areas (marketplace, non-sixth-scale, etc), but let's see what input a certain admin might provide before creating permanent sections of the forum. Part of me wonders if everything in one place with tags that allow for easy searching and sorting might not be preferable. Also, I am not fully cognizant of the limits of our capabilities. But I am open to advice and will follow consensus.

It is not working for me, but I notice that others have had luck with the "humor" option.

Just messing around, updating my profile. Now I need to figure out another photo-hosting site. Tried messing with Flickr; guess you need to be a rocket-scientist to figure out how to even upload photos over there, and I don't have the time or patience to keep at it.

Hi. Good luck with the photo hosting site, but don't the links work when you paste them in your post? Between maybe? Or use the little Insert Image tool. I am now using google photos as the source for my images.

Honestly, I could never even figure out how to get my photos from my iMac to Flickr. It says drag and drop... well, that didn’t do a thing. So after messing with that stupid site for about an hour I gave up. I’ll see what Google photos is like.
