I like the torso detail but it is ruined by having seams on the shoulders and waist.

GF and Sky, thanks for the info and link. If it is meant to be him then they have made the physique proportional to his size and I suspect like most basketball players he is a bit lanky. Smile However, I am pleased with the proportions as I could do with a giant to scare all my heroes!

I suspect they didn't care about that because the seams are intended to be covered up by the basketball uniforms.

GianToy have got some of these up for preorder:

Quite pricey... also, there seems to be no deposit option.

The whole listing for the tall body is a bit screwy, now I look at it more closely... there are two types, but no option to pick between them, apparently, unless you get both bodies for that price (which seems very unlikely).

EDIT: Seems like they were editing the listing as I was posting the above, the options are there now Smile

Interesting Times at GianToy...

How in the world are these more expensive than a male tbleague body.....

It's interesting that the 'standard' Asian bodies are almost half the cost of the others...

I'm still sorely tempted to get one of the very tall bodies, but that release date might be problematic for my wallet.

A couple of the newer Worldbox jointed bodies fetch higher prices than a TBL body, but they are very well-manufactured.

Interesting. Well... not sure I find that viable. I'm willing to pay a high price for a TBLeague body, to a point, but not sure I'd be willing to do that for these, even if they look interesting. By the way, my experience with World Box has been occasionally underwhelming. Yes, they are tough, but occasionally there is a rather loose joint that ruins the whole thing.

That is my baseline too. No matter how cool these or worldbox bodies might be, if i can get a tbl for same price or cheaper i will always buy a tbl instead.

I need to replace my M36 (who broke his neck in a fall - no, really) so I'm sorely tempted to get the big guy.

I really like the variety of bodies they've come up with, here. But who am I kidding, I'll probably just get another M36.

I'm not overly enthused about them either, tbh. From an aesthetic standpoint, they are a lot nicer than most visible joint bodies, and I like how durable the material is, but they are not very compatible with various different 1/6 footwear (and even some headsculpts).

Given the price of these, I would maybe consider one, but only if I really needed that skin colour/build.

Funny, everything is relative. For years I have been suggesting World Box feet as an alternative when TBLeague feet are too big to fit into this type of footwear; but I suppose even that isn't always a safe bet.

I probably should have specified better -- I mean moreso that the ankle pegs don't always have compatibility with other bodies or footwear. The foot size I didn't notice, becuase I was trying to use non-hollow boots.

Oh ok, I guess I misunderstood. Yes, there seem to be a few standards.

The very tall figure might be difficult to shop for. Smile I want to give him a cuirass and they just don't make them in his size.

Would the heads look too small as well?

I agree about the price. I want the giant because he is genuinely a different product from anything else available. But what is the point in paying more for less on the others?

shazzdan

Way too expensive. That price can only be justified if they use a steel skeleton.

In that case, the torso detail is wasted because it will be covered up by the basketball uniforms.

You're right of course, but Jaiou still use plastic skeletons and seem to get away with charging almost as much as TBL.

I'll shop around first (although GT are usually one of the less expensive sellers), but I think I'd try one of the cheaper 'standard Asian' options here before I committed to buying one of the Big Lads. If the cheaper ones are better than just OK, then all well and good. I do like the POC bodies, but the tatts are not a major selling point for me (AD-15 and one of the others seem to be a Middle-Eastern skintone and look ideal for my Iraqui Special Ops sculpt that needs a better body, but GT aren't offering those bodies, sadly).

I've got half a dozen POs on the boil already though, so these are at the back of my buying queue, to be brutally honest.

Jiaous have steel skeletons.

Actually, Jiaou’s are hybrids now. The joints are metal, the bulk of the armature is still plastic.

These have all mysteriously disappeared from GianToy's site... did anybody PO one?

If you contact them, they are likely to get back to you. I will not get too specific, besides it would be speculation. As base bodies, I don't imagine these were either pulled out of production or made lower profile due to any branding issues.
