the laser rifle was an "original" from threezero included with the t-45 power armor figure, the laser pistol was the result of a 1:1 prop scaled down to size and spray painted.
all in all i´m quite happy with the limited stuff i got available, usually i´m awful when it comes to colors and mixing them.

i know what you mean, its what gives fallout that special something and makes the world after an atomic war much more immersive, still makes me play it every now and then.

jawoll.....

thank you and glad you like it, the skeleton itself though is a coo model. have it for a few years now, but recently the "mego melt" kicks in, especially in the joints. as i only use it for backdrops i don´t move the limbs that often, resulting in yet another leg breaking at the pelvis joint. luckily its a location you don´t see the details so i cut a spare peg from another figure down to size, gave it a hair dryer treatment and popped the leg back in. worked like a charm until the next joint turns stiff
as for the 3d printer, yeah its a fine toy, though it takes a lot of effort and time to get stuff running properly. the other day i had some severe issues with the "retraction" after having the printhead upgraded. the new thing didn´t keep the heat on the same level as the old one so the filament cooled down far to fast and resulted in a constant jam.
not a major thing, lowering the retraction settings worked like a charm. still, being the novice i am, i wouldn´t have thought of THAT as a fix myself, so i had to consult the company producing the printer.
luckily they´re almost a stones throw away and i keep it profitable for them by purchasing my filament and stuff solely from them, so they remain generous with the info.
the models i use are sometimes 1:1 scaled props which can be scaled down by using the 16,6% factor easily. but some thin layers, like scorpions mask right now, prove finicky sometimes. after scaling them down there appear some holes and gaps meaning the print would be flawed or even jam the printer.
its a hit or miss with constant monitoring of the printer being advised.
bummer when the print takes up to 30 hours for an item

again, glad you like it. given the theme and the open world it´s only a small fraction of what makes fallout stand out in terms of atmosphere and immersion. don´t have the space, funds or skill to build any bigger
so in the next few steps i´ll put some lose ends together, spread some debris and clutter and have a look at how many figures will fit the dio before they look "stuffed in" for the sake of it.
oh, before i forget, for everyone interested there´s a 3d model of a X01 power armor available on the net for purchase. haven´t made up my mind wether to spend 100$ on it or not, but the guy seems to put in a lot of effort to make it fit the threezero power armor frame, places for magnets included.
kind regards
