TBLeague hasn't shown me anything recently that I've felt compelled to get. They are clearly only working for the Asian market at this point.

I do like the boots and the jacket and coat. But I doubt I'll see a head sculpt I'd actually like to display that S37 with any time soon. So she will turn into Sailor Moon and that'll be my first and last TBL anime figure.

The side straps on the bikini bottom look thin. I hope they are more durable than the plastic bikinis that come with some of the TBLeague bodies, which are often broken before being removed from the packaging.

You'd think they could include an optional little short skirt or something, as an option for when, not if, those straps break.

And they seem to have misjudged that market too. The comments on BBICN are not favourable!

And their not wrong, imo. Aesthetically, I think these might be the worst TBL figures yet!

It's about time for TBLeague to come out with a new bodytype, I think. Not interested in these figures.

Between the anime-ish design and the underboob, hard to take this seriously.

Honestly, it doesn't even look like an official TBL figure. I really had a hard time processing this was actually made by TBL, cuz it looks more like one of those unknown companies with cheap figures.

That looks off even for Tbleagues usual sexy skin standard. The underwear outfit just doesn't fit at all to the rest and the cyberpunk theme. Looks like she forgot to dress with that jacket and nothing else. Overall rather boring imo

Even if some of the clothing accessories do seem OK, they'll be tailored to fit an anime body which I have no interest in whatsoever.

I'm still crossing my fingers that the next female body (S50/51) will be Viking Woman at long last, but once that's out of the way I agree that we are well overdue a new (interesting) base body, be it male or female.

I agree with all the negative or hesitant comments posted above.  These figures aren't just disappointing but they are just too much of a detour even beyond some of the qualities that we may find a bit dubious in the "usual" TBL fare.  So much so, that I am convinced there must be some specific explanation, though we may never find out what it is.  Like, maybe TBL just hired a new sculptor/designer from some other company, who brought these particular designs in with him.  Or, TBL is seeing these as a pilot project for a new product line, because they're seeing enviable success on the part of some competitors (most notably I'd say TOYSEIIKI with their Gantz:O figures, or Selvaria, which these most closely resemble).

This isn't an all too new trend. They did announce five anime figures recently: the white and the green snake, and there have been others before.

And this green version very much made me think that the green Ghost Soldier must have sold well, because this is pretty much the same color scheme. Copying themselves again.

Well, no. We're talking about something very specific here (at least I was) and nothing anywhere as broad as the range of TBL's "five anime figures recently." The present figures have nothing whatsoever stylistically in common with the mentioned TBL's previous White and Green Snake (except maybe something "anime-ish"), but they are extremely cookie-cutter close to the specific TOYSEIIKI style, to the point where they could easily just have been TOYSEIIKI's Gantz:0 or Selvaria Version 2.0. So I think for TBL this is indeed a specific new direction, being borrowed from their competitor.

Has anyone compared in hand these PL2022-201 bodies (released Nov. 4, 2022?) with the S50B/S51B bodies (released Jan. 25, 2023?)? Comparing them in photos, they appear to be virtually the same.

Can anyone advise if the body type of this figure can suit YMToy heads?  (I understand they are on the smaller side and look better on slim frames)

This body type is either the pale variant of S37A or the newer S50A.  

The only difference I found between those body types is that the S50A is slightly (~1cm) taller

I'm not sure any of us have figured out exactly what this body is for certain, to confirm or deny this conclusion. In principle, the smaller heads should work for the various petite bodies, perhaps especially S24/S25 (+ letter of your choice: S24A=pale, S24B="dark brown" (which is lighter than the other option), S25B=suntan, S25C="dark skinned".

Mystery solved, I actually sent Phicen an email request asking them about the figure,  and it's confirmed they advised me that it's actually body type S50A being used as the base for this particular figure

Based on extensive additional research I have done, I have found that in fact, the S50A body type is identical to the original S40A figure.  I have feedback from a YouTuber who has both these bodies.  

I have found from further research since S50A and S40A are identical, in fact these bodies are a fraction (~1cm) taller than the S37, the difference being the S37 has more dramatic, anime type hip waist ratio but those are very, very close.  So easy to get these bodies confused.  So in conclusion S50A slightly taller than S37, slightly different dimensions as well.  

Smaller Head fitment is more about proportionality to slimness rather than height.

The waist hip ratio on the S37 is more dramatic.  S50 just a hair less dramatic waist:hip.  So it's actually a little bit different.  Still totally anime-like large bust proportions.

Based on the proportions of shoulder width+ waist size, although this body results in a taller figure, proportions are super petite , and people report good results with marrying YMToys heads to these bodies (a few people have done S40 with the Ymtoy heads, works just fine) So that does answer the second part of my question..
