For anyone interested in the Ranger cloak who has this on order, there is an interest thread here:

Well, here are my crappy photos. They don't really do this figure justice. I honestly didn't have to mess with the hair much, as right out of the "container" it was pretty cool looking.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Valiarde does with this fellow. His pics are going to be epic.

He looks great, and very realistic, actually, in your photos.

I thought I had wandered into a dream

Congratz! That's a top contender for the title of the best action figure ever.

That last pic is one of the most realistic Aragorns i've seen great lighting on the face. Very well done Mark. What a great figure. Now we need some cool diorama ideas for Display and combination with other lotr figures...

Thanks, folks. My plan is to display the entire Fellowship (or at the least the 3 bad-asses and Gandalf, depending on how the Hobbits and Boromir look next to the two InArt figures I have). But I’ll de damned if I haven’t been able to find decent location backdrops that aren’t just logos or locations that are from far away.

Wow, your figure turned out fantastic , Stryker! He looks absolutely amazing!

ETA: re: the backdrops.... I wonder if you figure out the names of some of the New Zealand filming locations and then just find some high quality landscape photos?

I actually did search for that but of the ones I found, none of them were big enough (file wise) to work well if blown up (at least that was what my searches found). I didn't find any specific to the locations in the film, but then I don't know the names of the places (my memory is crap these days).

I was going to suggest what Sky suggested. A couple of places that might not come to mind immediately are Wallpaperflare and Wikipedia. The latter sometimes has user submitted images at the original photo resolution, which can be resampled at whatever one desires. My now sun-damaged desert backdrop for Tatooine was from a Wikipedia photo of the "Empty Quarter" in Arabia.

Great photos, Stryker! His hair looks perfectly fine straight out of the box.

I've been inspired by ElBundy's AI backdrops. I'm planning to dabble with AI for my backgrounds the next time I post a custom.

Maybe you could generate an AI forest or tavern as a backdrop.

The photos are perfect. Thank you. I now know that selling this figure is not an option. Ugh. Ouch. He is magnificent. Not letting this one go. ^^

I wouldn’t. Despite having some really great figures in my collection (purchased and customs), this and the InArt Gandalf are hands down the absolute best figures I own. Stunning to say the least. The only gripe I have with both of them is the magnetic hand system these guys use. The hand holding onto the pommel of the sword keeps wanting to fall off.

I’m glad I have another premium version on PO (just lucky it’s not from the first PO window).

He's awesome. Mine just arrived, and am currently unboxing him.
Mark (or anyone), is there a trick to opening the jar containing the head? I don't want to force it the wrong way and damage anything, but it is certainly not opening easily...

EDIT: Never mind, managed to dislodge it open. Yep, awesome!

I had to open the jar at the top and carefully pry the foam out.

So mine was not the only one that was really tightly stuck. I saw enough on unboxing videos to know the bottom is supposed to come off. Eventually I grabbed it with my hands around the transparent cylinder and used my thumbs to apply pressure to the bottom to start opening it up.

That is so good to read! Very Happy Feeling more and more relaxed about keeping him. And bravely taking the financial hit as and when it comes in. Laughing affraid

Thinking about a horse for Aragorn: Pure Blood, Akhal teke or Hailar horse? Not sure he needs one for the display, but just in case.

Perhaps the bay coloured Akhal-Teke? I think this one is the most dynamic and looks appropriate for being ridden under saddle.

Thank you Sky for your opinion and recommendation. I also kinda like this one as it is also a nice dynamic one. Might just be it!

Was also looking at that john Dunbar horse from DiD which could be nice with a repaint (and comes with a saddle, even if it is not accurate)

I need to sell my Duweime horse first to make funds and space though Razz

I’m thinking about going with this look so I can use the Elven cloak, the vambraces, the bloody hands, and show off the look without the jacket.

I have just received my invoice for the final payment of the pre-order from KGHobby. :-)
Then they usually deliver very quickly after payment.

It's only the standard version but I'm still really looking forward to it!

It will still be glorious. Careful with the bow, the string on mine snapped (well, came undone, but there is no tying it back) really easily.

Congratulations. You can now have an Aragorn family reunion, with twins and other siblings. Whom will Arwen choose? Smile
