I really wish I COULD afford it. I'm expecting an inconvenient bill any time now. Time to hustle!

I am amazed by these InArt figures, although this would be my first one so far. As shot by Justin (and this is not meant to be critical), the face does look a little bit less impressive than I originally thought, but I wonder whether that would not be different in hand. Surprisingly, to me, the molded hair version appeared slightly better to my eyes than the "real" hair version, although on principle I prefer the latter.Diana wrote:GubernatorFan wrote:Looking forward to this. Holy cow that was amazing!! I was at first a little disappointed about the face. It does fall short of the prototype, but everything else compensates for it. All those details and display options... It's insane!! Truly the best figure I've ever seen! (There are probably some samurai at this level of quality that I paid little attention to).
Good points, I think. Justin is indeed very careful with his "own personal copy" of each figure, as he states in just about every video, so he avoids any extreme tests or other actions that might cause a potential problem.skywalkersaga wrote:I think the problem with the face is actually the eyes. They look weirdly small and I think that throws off the proportions of the face -- nose, cheekbones, eyebrows, etc.
This is just me being biased against rolling eyeballs perhaps, but that is where I noticed the main difference.
ETA: Also, for some reason, Justin doesn't 'futz' his figures ....he said he wouldn't touch the hair, out of 'respect for the artist'. Which I thought was ridiculous, because real hair on 1/6 figures ALWAYS needs futzing in order to look halfway decent. So that probably also changes the appearance quite a bit. The sculpt needs strands of hair in front of the forehead to look like FotR Aragorn.
