Oh look, the B version is pale again. This is the new normal for TBL after years of making the A & B & sometimes C versions all be suntan. Not bad, just different.

Now let's play the Guess the Body game...  I think S50/S51 to promote their release. I can't tell from the promos if the feet are removable or not.

They are not my genre but I like the blue one and might end up buying her. I don't even hate the base since it's not another ugly rock. The price is a concern though. $300 each at Giantoy.  

Either way, I'll for sure be picking up some of the new hand shapes loose. Nice to see those.

Absolutely gorgeous. I also prefer the blue one, but both look great. A lot more show-girly than the supposed point of inspiration (the Dunhuang frescoes). Probably would have been nice to make the base optional. The feet look removable to me, but I can't guarantee I'm right. The pale body choice might have to do with Chinese concepts of beauty, especially for a "music goddess."

Perhaps, but I have to respectfully disagree. If that were the case, shouldn't they both be pale? Both are Chinese. More tellingly, this is something I've been tracking since I unexpectedly received a pale Ghost Soldier B. All multi-version TBL boxed figures prior were suntan. Then this:

I think TBL missed the chance of giving them a different instrument, since they already went with different clothing and hairstyles. That would tempt some people even more on getting both versions.
As for the feet, I believe they are seamless.
Thank the old gods and the new that these figures are not my cup of tea, cuz 300 bucks is just out of my range.

Looks nice, but I'm being more choosey this year about what stuff I buy and $300 is too much for these. Might pick up some of the jewelry on ebay when it gets parted out.

Well their suntan is almost as pale as their pale. That Nephthys and the Mohegans, being Egyptian and Indian, are suntan (which is still not nearly tan enough) is understandable. Are the A versions (of the sets that have pale for their B version) suntan? Normally with base bodies, A is pale and B is suntan, but even there they are not always consistent in labeling and skin tone.

You're right about the Egyptian and Indian sets making sense to be suntan but I have to wonder if that wasn't a result of the sets being finalized out of order and the decision to have one of the versions be pale hadn't been made yet when they were designed rather than any effort or thought of what makes sense. Maybe Ghost Warrior just beat those sets to the factory?

It's a new/original idea at least for TBL, so I applaud it to that qualified extent.  Nice to see them try anything different.  But it's not really a concept that would work for most of their figures, so I doubt we'll see it again.

The double price whammy of that decision comes not only from double-purposing the ornaments as jewelry, but making them electroplated 925 sterling silver.  This isn't cheap and probably cost TBL some premium money, especially as it would require a specialized jeweler/manufacturer outside TBL's normal range and without the prospect of repeat business or big volume manufacturing discounts.

This idea of making the ornaments of a 1/6 scale figure do double duty as something wearable by the buyer is actually fairly common for some retail fantasy dolls, like Monster High, Ever After High, maybe Bratz.  But it seems risky to me where the cost is not $30 but $300, and the buyer isn't a 14-year old girl.

My list is slightly incorrect. It should read:

They reversed it on those two just to make it more confusing though it's still true that now one version is pale and the other suntan when for years it's been double suntan. But yeah, because it's not standardized in the product ID, you can't know which is which by the letter assigned, you have to scrutinize the promos and do this weird skin-tone-in-a-photo contrast analysis, or wait for them to come out, or just not worry about it

I like my Dunhuang goddess from previous offering, so maybe i will give this a miss...

It's not to my tastes, but it's nice to see TBL branch out into something a bit different.
The price is crazy though! I assume this is down the jewelry included? Which seems like a swing and a miss to me. Male collectors (of which there are many more) aren't going to be very interested and are unlikely to give it to their partner, as it'll diminish their $300 figure.
Seems it would have been better to do a deluxe version with the wearable jewelry, as an option?
And as Brassco points out, it does look a lot like a (not-as-nice) copy of HST's version.

These are pretty, but the price is just ridiculous. More than some Hot Toys figures, even....

I'm with everyone here, I like the blue one too, but once I saw the price point, it's a pass for me.

Also on the last picture, looks like the armband may stain the body.

Good question, I just took their word for it, since I didn't notice it myself.

For anyone in the States, Timewalker has these for $250 (still too high to me) and you can get free shipping if you bundle ($350 total) your orders.

It's not written anywhere, which is vexing. It's clear from the promo photos if you examine them carefully. Sigh. Feel free to ignore my 'opinion', time will prove me correct.
