It's about as celtic as a samurai! The shield is the only thing that comes remotely close, but hey, it's fantasy, I guess?
Also, the HS is super Asian. Lot of celts in the far east? Maybe a holidaying Chinese warrior, during the dark ages?

Fantasy liberties aside, its a fairly boring figure and the face looks like all their other recent 12 year old, round faced kids.
It's a no from me, as you can probably guess. 😄

P.s. what's up with that tiny pinhead she's rocking?

The gold one would be a good basis for a Red Sonja figure.

Yea, I dunno why the tbleague heads all look to be on the smaller side these last couple years. The base is kinda neat though.

I think the "pinheads" became their solution to the dilemma of making helmets look a perfect size - so the heads within had to shrink accordingly -- and it's just become their de facto standard.

I agree with Ghost808, even within the wide scope of pure fantasy there's nothing here that calls out Celtic, even the broad whimsical definition of it -- it's just another unspecified warrior woman. "Celtic Bravery Wildheart" seems to resonate specifically with "Braveheart," so I expected a gender-swapped version of Mel Gibson, but there's no trace of that. Blue face paint could have been cool.

I think they made the recent heads smaller to accommodate helmets, but these don't have helmets so I don't know why they're doing it.

With all these releases, TBL is saving me a ton of money. I guess for the foreseeable future all I’ll be getting is their individual bodies.

The undersized heads might look better on the more petite bodies not used in these boxed sets. I was expecting a half-blue-painted character. In and of itself, I think it has some interesting features, although I cannot take it seriously. The silver version, which I find aesthetically least appealing, might actually look ok next to Mr Toys' He-Man, just color-wise.

The silver version seems to be pale again, no? Might look good next to the orange Pompeii warrior.

I think the head of the golden version is absolutely gorgeous! The silver version doesn't work for me. Are these even the same mould? The silver version seems rounder...

Aaaand another warrior wearing armour on skin.... awesome. Rolling Eyes

I like the base and the boots and the redhead. That's about it. I really wanted to want this, but I really don't. (Except for that head. Crying or Very sad )

I take one quick look and go .... 'meh', no thanks.

And even after a closer look, I would say the red haired version looks marginally better than the second one, but still not really anything interesting enough to stand out from every other figue they've done recently.

The only cool thing is the base and banner.

Damn, this display base is awesome. Unfortunately, this raises the price of the figure by a lot on "free shipping" Asian stores. It's going for ~US270.

I liked the armor design, though for me it lacks a pauldron or shoulder pads. I would also put a pleather (or similar material) corset or some kind of cloth on the torso region to be more aesthetically pleasing. Another thing I'm worried is how restrained the leg movement seems to have, due to those belt straps. The material they used on the whole armor doesn't seem to be flexible enough.

One last thing I didn't fancy were the HS's. The red hair on the A version is an odd choice because the cloak is also red. I long for the day when TBL will update their HS's and make more mature faces more suitable of a warrior.

... boots and shield are neat though.

$272 at OSK. (No offense to Kit)… but..l BWAHAHAHAHA! I’ll wait to see if I can get the base loose at some point, but there’s nothing else about these sets that appeals to me. I’m with you FreakinLobster, they need to go back to more stern expressions, and something less “teen” like, for these sets.

Edit: $210 ($202 PO) at Timewalker.

There is indeed some sort of generic typical TBLeague look to these heads by now -- one could almost tell by looking at them even outside of their context. They are better than some of their early tries, but are too similar to each other and often enough a little off. They should invest in new sculpts or new sculptors. It is not just a question of youthfulness -- there is an unrealistic quality about it -- though usually short of going into anime.

Must be the size and weight of the base that is upping the shipping costs. Last time I went through my sideshow retailer to get a tbleague figure which was considerably cheaper. probably better to PO through a stateside retailer with these.

I think those descriptions are insightful and quite accurate. I always hoped that their relationship with ARH Studios could have led to more than just doing a few character licenses, because exposure to that kind of sculpting talent would have done TBL a world of good. Not because they are bad right now but they could be so much better.

Agreed. In fact, it is worth noting that their production quality is quite consistently good. It is the design that sometimes leaves something (or a lot) to be desired.

True that.  It can be the most regrettable thing really -- otherwise talented people, showing some failure of ambition.

Very cool! I appreciate the unique diorama bases Phicen gives their figures!

They should have called her mystic elven warrior princess etc., I think the super clean high fantasy designer fashion armor and the face don't fit the wooden shield or the war torn base with it's tattered flag and grimdark skulls at all.

It's something we have seen often with the tbleague releases, great craftsmanship and complicated designs etc but at the same time it feels thrown together randomly and non harmonic.

100% this, I'm right on the same wavelength. TBLeague is looking cheaper, and more plastic every new release, and if this is some variation of Viking Woman/Month body again I really am done with those bodies. The necks on these new figures man, lol, you need 3rd party head sculpts to make them work, slide down some of the way on the giraffe neck. Most TBL heads, without modding, result in some kamino cloner looking shi...I mean, it doesn't look great, you know?.

It's weird Royal Defender (I am not confident I picked the right name out of my memory but the one with a full chainmail underlay) and this came from the same company.

The designers need to delete deviantart from their browser and try asking Executive Replicas or Zenescope to lunch, or hey maybe a coffee. See how they're doing, you know, isn't it great to catch up, how about giving it another try, they know things were good together once, right? Let's do another Robyn Hood and Mercy Dante, what could it hurt? Lol, haha I am sleep deprived right now and far from home so don't mind me.

Laughing I hear ya.

I'd love for therm to do archetypal stuff, like medieval fantasy sorceress dark/light/neutral or modern day adventurer or... ENDLESS possibilities, but nooooooooo... Wink

I’m guessing Executive Replicas took the license for those comic characters with them when they parted ways.
