First, I was dumbfounded that they did not take the opportunity to sex-switch Shiva to female (like they have done with some Egyptian deities). Then I noticed he looks nothing like Shiva's classic imagery (not to mention the absence of extra arms). They did try to make a nod towards a more slender body by choosing the M32. Given the darkness of the photographs, I can't tell whether they bothered to darken the color at all. Otherwise, kinda neat, I like the head and the cobra. Divided on the base, except insofar as it is bound to increase the price.

as simple as this is i really kind of like it.
i was about 4 or 5 images down before i even noticed his 3rd eye which i think is really cool.
i agree that if this wasnt labled as shiva you would NEVER guess who it was supposed to be, unlike the other company that has done 3 gods [i forget the company sorry].
the head seems to be the main part of this as the rest you can easily kitbash, although i guess the body will be a new colour maybe?

Oh, interesting, body looks like a darker colour to me?? If so, gives me hope about male bodies with darker skin maybe on the horizon…

I wonder if they'll be doing brown skin versions of all their previous male bodies in the near future.

Speaking of which, the female brown skin bodies were originally scheduled to come out in November, so I wonder if they're coming soon or not.

The body does look dark-ish, but the male suntan was always one of their darker skin tones, and the lighting is not very strong, so I remain uncertain if they bothered actually changing the color. They do have the one S36B body that is indeed meant to be for an African basketball-player body type. So this could be like that or it could be the regular suntan, or something new.

I do hope they give us both lighter and darker male bodies, because both are needed. I have preordered a couple of the darker skinned female bodies and have not yet received shipping notices about them.

It looks substantially darker to my eyes, GF. This is how they introduced the darker female bodies, via a vaguely 'Indian' looking figure. So that's why I thought maybe they are doing the same for the male bodies now.

I really like this release. I also really like the third eye, the head overall looks great, and I really like those pants and necklaces and all. So really pretty much all about it, except for the base. (I'd love the rocky part if it wasn't for the skulls. Skulls everywhere all the time! Sheesh!)

The two of them clearly have different skin colours, with the red version being darker.
They went with the same colour schemes as they did with the Divine Goddess sets. There the red/gold version had brown skin, while the orange/silver version had their standard skin colour. My guess is they did the same here for consistency, though it is indeed hard to tell.

I also pre-ordered two darker bodies and haven't received a shipment notification. I hope they got enough orders in to motivate them to do the same for the male bodies.

And considering that they repeated the offering of a figure with a darker skin tone with these two releases, I'm guessing the red/gold version of the Goddess sold well enough. And the announcement of the darker skin tones followed shortly after...  

I'm clearly putting way too much thought into this.
