Star Wars Black Series figures.

I recently picked up this Luke Skywalker Heir to the Empire figure. (For those that don't know, This now falls into the Star Wars Legends, and sadly not the movie Canon. However, it is great book trilogy by Timothy Zahn. It's also where we are first introduced to Admiral Thrawn.). I took a few pics of him and Ysalamiri, in the recent cargo bay I built. The light saber effects were once again added by Mr.P.

Excellent photos. And great special effects again. Is Luke trying to steal Thrwan's pet?

Nice photos again - the cargo bay looks great!

I don't have this Luke, but it seems to be similar to the one from Dagobah 2-pack with Yoda (maybe a recolor)

Thanks! Yeah, looking at yours it could well be. actually looked at getting that one the other day, but went another way. I will probably still pick one up at some point. I actually ordered a Chewbacca, and a Leia. Hopefully, they won't take long to arrive .

Leia found her mother's Geonosis cape
I know it's different color and accurate to some comic appearances, but I really think this figure should have come with cloth cape. This, at least, is not unheard of in Black Series.
But imagine how she'd look with fully soft goods body. it's a beautiful headsculpt after all. Makes me want to kitbash something like this.

• Clone Commander Obi-Wan Kenobi
  
• Asajj Ventress
  

They are available for preorders at every major toy store.
(I had Ventress on preorder from maybe three different places around a year ago, and all of them were canceled one after another, hopefully I'll get her this time)

Thank you my friend! The backdrop is of course my 1/6 scale rock face. Yeah, a cloth cape would've been a far better choice for sure. I shall look forward to your future bash , Vis,

Meanwhile, I've got Mara Jade too.


What I like about her: beautiful headsculpt, the subtle smirk, articulation is mostly decent, the overall look.
What I don't: head movement is rather limited, plastic scarf with non-removable goggles.


I also don't like the sparseness of accessories, but it's not really specific to this particular figure, rather it is common for the entire line. Extra hands are an extremely rare exception.

The hinge in the abdomen seems unfamiliar - I've never seen it in the Black Series before, it's probably a reuse of something from Marvel Legends. And in combination with diaphragm joint it results in good ab crunch.

Don't have any photos with the lightsaber yet (botched the lighting), but here are some photos with Luke (also from Black Series, relatively old ROTJ version, but already with photoreal):



And speaking of Luke, the clock included with him is surprisingly unwieldy, I can't get the hood look natural.

Nice figure indeed. The articulation choices and the limited accessories and hands are part and parcel of this being still essentially a toy line, something partly reflected in the price -- though it is not necessarily cheap for toys, it is far less than high end twelfth-scale figures.

loving these figures. As per my post, I just delved into this scale with the GI Joe Classified line but as a huge SW fan, I have looked at this in the shops for sooo long and now think I will start to collect. I could finally have my squads of stormtroopers, scout troopers, rebel troops and endor troops etc.

It's expensive to army build nowadays, even in 1:18 scale, but certainly far more doable than in 1:6 scale.

Very true and at £20 a figure, I could have a 10 strong sqaud for less than what it costs me for a DAM or Hot Toys 1/6 haha even if I would much prefer the 1/6 lol

Great pick up Vis! and yes, Mara has a few issues, but her sculpt truly is beautifully sculpted.

I recently dived into both, SW and Joes. I will say, their so much better than when I was a kid with the original figs .

Yes, this is the main reason.

However,

there is another.
Exorbitant license price Hasbro has to pay to Disney.
It is much higher than that of Marvel license, which is why Marvel Legends figures almost always come with more accessories at the same price point.
And G. I. Joe belongs to Hasbro, so Classified is in even better position.

Another new arrival is my New hope, Han Solo.

Great light saber effect!

Found the comicbook Leia too, to use as a reference and a source of parts for my custom.


And I also have another head on the way, so even if I break this figure down, I'll build it up again, in a slightly different way.


I like this look more and more. The headsculpt is actually all new:


No other Leia from Hasbro has this particular hairstyle

Curiously, she is slightly taller than some other Black Series Leia figures. But difference is marginal, and, true to the source, the figure is quite short:


The last shot is with SHF ROTJ Luke, with soft goods from OT Customs - currently my main display Luke, at least until the Interstellar Ranger is released:

This looks like the best likeness so far.
