I suppose it doesn't hurt that he's super fit too, i.e. works out a lot . Plenty of reference pics coming up now anyway

I've took him apart again and subdued the weathering quite a bit after all hes not in the South American jungles like the other MECH I made for him, he's also back together with all weapons deployed as a teaser for the finished thread where he'll be up against Dr. Doom (he did a stint as IM too).
I've made a start on continuing the unarmoured Punisher TV version too.

Changing his height and starting on the vest detail parts.

I had to improvise his foot pegs as I didn't want to waste a decent double ball peg but had no matching pegs of any kind so I've bodged together some random bits and hot glued them on, then used boot feet in the end as the soft boots were too big. Spent a stupid amount of time threading things into material, typical for 1/6 military builds! So his trousers won't fall down and his hems are tight over his boots. That was all pretty boring basic stuff, putting his armoured vest together is more interesting and needs a lot of custom work before I can even paint it.













Loads of seam lines in the way while threading the cord into the waistband, I had to go around them all using lots of holes I made.





Filling the Molle hoops with cut down model sprue bits to look like shell holders for the vest.

Wow that was major surgery right there. Was it so absolutely necessary/worth it to reduce his height? (If that's what happened in the end, I'm a little confused.) At any rate, impressive work putting him back together. The use of bits of model sprue in this manner is just brilliant, and speaks to your well-attested inventiveness.

Thanks! He would have been taller than his armoured version if I hadn't changed his height lol. Well necessity is the mother of all invention and I don't have a lot of military stuff compared to Sci-Fi type bits and bobs . I'm going to give him the hair from the other JB sculpt I cut up as I don't like the MC Hammer look of his hair on this one, it's just too high.

Interesting adjustments, Alex. I applaud your desire to make the height consistent.

It would drive me nuts otherwise! The actor is only 5'9" too so I've taken that into account.

Been adding detail bits to the vest trying to be as accurate to the reference pics as I can, it now has real brass studs and all the straps with buckles I can make out from the pics. I've also built his belts with their load outs for mags, grenades etc.. Painted the skull readjusting it a few times but think it's there now in the final pics; ignore the scribbled on one that was just for my reference.

Something's off with that skull still, I think the cranium is too wide.

I don't know how delicate I was, I wouldn't have wanted to be him but the hair is now redone after cutting off his 'fro' and squashing bits of the other hs's scalp onto this one with glue then sculpting it all together with milliput so it's shorter height wise and looks less like a bread loaf on his head. I've also redone the skull on the vest to look more aggressive by adding angles etc.. Some how a bit of red dye/ink? got in the white so I'll go over that with another batch of different white. Hair's curing at the moment.

Brilliant. I never would have guessed you redid the hair.

Cheers! Painted now, might be too brown under the lights, when I put him next to my other four scratch built Punishers I'll see if that sticks out as they all have black hair. Finished faffing with the skull and concentrated on giving him wrist pegs, hands and a neck that works; odd one that, the normal necks disappear into this body, a G3 I think? So I had to make a custom job that works great but has that ugly line, should be hidden by the jacket collar later. The hands are curing over night with silicone inside the peg holes as they are too big for the posts but all match each other (and his flesh) colour and style wise with the variety of grips I want for his weapons etc.. Weapons were sorted out today too, he's pictured with half of them: a Beretta M92, a Colt 1911 TAC, a Heckler & Koch MP7 and a large modern sawback clip point jungle knife. I'm going to have his face beaten up in that skull like way he gets in the end of season 1, bloody his knuckles and a bit of spatter here and there.

He looks good. I don’t think it looks too brown at all (the hair).

I'm afraid I've made him a lot less attractive now!

I've used the look he had after that really gruesome hand to hand fight before he got arrested which left him with injuries that made his face look like a skull (similar to how they had Dolph Lundgren portray The Punisher with stubble, grease and sleepless bags under his eyes and lighting in the sewers). Jon also had his fists busted up and his opponent's blood all up his arms, I can hide the arms with his jacket then use his scabbed over hands that I've painted too for other poses. I've broken up the black a bit by giving him some olive drab slings and a harness with holster since this version of the character is ex military not law enforcement. I've also painted all his weapons lightly weathering the metal parts (well that would be metal on the real thing) and matte blacking the fibre reinforced polymer parts or Micarta. I need to finish his sniper rifle bag (that I've nicked from a larger one which I'll fix too) for his EDM Arms Windrunner anti-material rifle (it comes in .50 BMG, Cheytac .408 or .338 Lapua) and weather his boots. I've taken minor liberties with the damage to his face to make it a little more skull like by giving him vertical split lips to look like teeth and a bloody nose which adds to the grinning and nose-less skull look. Weapons are drying.

Some blood came from his nose, yes...but the rest...well you should see the other guys! The bloody knuckles are great too. But I don't think you should go too far with the weathering on the guns, as I think he maintains them very well. But some blood on the grips and butts won't hurt I guess. (At least not the guns)

Very impressive. I would not have gone that far, but I think it works very well for your intended purposes.

Certainly not in the Netflix series! I can't believe f***ing Disney have cancelled it and all other Marvel series due to their 'platform' idea .

I've just given them a worn in look as he does get them used from the Turk, he was first sold a .22 rimfire in pink! It's all the Turk had!
