Four Rocks (updated with a Fifth)

No, I don't mean this kind of rocks:



I mean these Rocks:



The suspiciously similar figures were captured making their way through the desert landscape, pursued by or escaping from persons unknown.





They were apprehended, processed, and prepared for study.







At present the working hypothesis is that they represent different generations of clones derived from a single original specimen, known as The Rock, with the genes mutated partly through degeneration and partly on purpose.



The closest replica of the original is believed to be the specimen identified as Hot Toys Roadblock; however, he suffers from a painful and unsightly case of open joints. The much younger specimen identified as El1ev1en x Kai B appears to be nearly as perfect a replica of the original, perhaps derived at a different stage of the latter's development. The One Toys Mr Stone specimen is still a sharp, albeit slightly stylized clone, while the Crazy Dummy Ranger specimen appears to be the least accurate clone, although still quite viable. Except for the first specimen, the clones appear to have been grafted onto secondary specially developed bodies.

Research continues.

One looks "stony faced" and another looks "quarried sick". I don't like the last one but perhaps he has "sedimental" value

The Eleven/Kai sculpt honestly looks the best to me, as it not only captures Dwayne’s likeness the best, it also adds a bit of personality from the others (especially the flat Ht version) — though the other two just seem to express anger. The Crazy Dummy version is the weakest of the bunch, obviously. Overall, nice presentation.

Nice comparison sequence. The side by side "mug shots" offer helpful comparisons.

I agree, the new El1ev1en x Kai sculpt is amazing, and has more life than the Hot Toys version. I wouldn't call that one flat (I liked it so much I picked up the head by itself when it was first parted out, then figured I needed to pick up the body and clothing to match), but it has been a few years, and the new one is definitely more lively. It is also available in a bearded version, and I just broke down and ordered one of those too. And thank you.

I agree about that. So much so, I bought the bearded version of the same sculpt, too.

Another vote for Eleven/Kai. If you had shown me the other three heads with no text or explanation, I never would have identified them as the Rock.

I agree about the best one, but the others being unrecognizable seems to me a little bit of an exaggeration. Then again, I have seen the hallucinogenic special effects for the Rock's face from The Rundown, so perhaps I'm more elastic and forgiving in my expectations.

I agree with that, too. Crazy Dummy is definitely the weakest likeness among these.

Of the 3 I like the roadblock one the most along with the 11 x kai one, I have no clue what's going on with the "crazy dummy" one, looks like The Rock's cousin, David "The Pebble" Johnson.

I recall seeing on Freaks (or was it OSW...) someone made a custom Black Adam using that Crazy Dummy gunner head and that was years before Dwayne J. was considered for a movie version, and i was thinking how apt the sculpt looked with the goon face, menacing scowl and that the skintone and facial features can probably pass as Egyptian.

You are welcome, and thank you. Egyptian as in the Scorpion King? Which was just the way his name was written, by the way, there is no Egyptian legend of a king (or dude) with the body of a super-sized scorpion.

Oh i stated Egyptian because in DC comics, Black Adam's mortal form is Teth Adam from Ancient Egypt.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the details of DC and Marvel, barring a few relatively recent movies (and not the most recent ones). I now realize this must be in relation to the upcoming Black Adam movie, in which the Rock plays the protagonist. Otherwise the only Egyptian association I could think of was the Scorpion King.

This should be a movie/tv series. Seriously. It reminds me of that show Living With Yourself starring Paul Rudd. But would obviously be a VERY different kind of story with DJ as the main clone candidate.

Hahaha! I find this even funnier because 'The Pebble' has the biggest muscles out of all of them; as though he has to compensate for his lack of stardom power.
