Concert Stage - Originally 1/6, but also 1/12 scales. (very photo heavy)

As Dal has posted his Faithless Angels at the Newton Farm Park Concert Stage, I thought I'd post the rest of the opening night's concert. There are likely to be a lot of images and I'll post them in separate sections.

The stage was initially built with 1/6 scale in mind. However, I soon discovered that even with the enormity of the stage, I still felt it wasn't big enough. So then I tried it with 1/12 scale figures. That was a much better size.

There are five events on the grand opening evening.
1 - Quartet
2 - Final Fantasy Females
3 - Warrior Concert
4 - Native Band
5 - Faithless Angels

4 - Native Concert - also in 1/12 scale.

5 - Faithless Angels - 1/6 - sort of. Dal (BlondeActionMan) provided the posed figure images, and I've Photoshopped them into the stage setting. They are 1/6, but I've made them a little smaller, so the back screens can be used. You've probably seen his versions which he has darkened a little. But here are my originals.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of these! I love your cello player, especially because I wasn't a fan of that head sculpt, but it works so well here!

Also your 1/12 ladies seem weirdly expressive! Way more than on the shelf for sure. Well cast, placed and photographed.

They're very cute and awesome! I especially love the stage and the lighting! I adore the grand piano, I wish I had one, too haha!

Phenomenal stage!!! You can feel the "live" atmosphere!

Excellent work, both in creating the amazing environment and setting up and shooting and presenting the scenes. Feels so real. As for the bands, my favorites were your Quartet (although it seemed to me like the guitar player was holding her instrument a little awkwardly -- maybe cross the legs the other way or turn the guitar the other way? But then what do I actually know of holding guitars, being remarkably unmusical myself?) and Dal's Faithless Angels.

Thanks, GubernatorFan. The build of the stage took much longer than I had anticipated. But that is often the way, eh? Hmm. Maybe crossing her legs the other way might work. But then she and the violinist would be crossed the same way. Nothing wrong with that, just wanted a little variety. I do think, perhaps the guitar is a little high up the way she is sitting. I am not a guitarist either, I am a keyboardist, but that doesn't help with holding a guitar. LOL.

Thanks, Dal. I will have to try to remember some of the poses you do. You are able to pose your band very well. Much better than I can do.

Thanks, Diana. Not sure what happened. I tried to do a multi-quote, and it worked, said it was posted, but can't see it on the thread. Anyway, I'll try to remember what I posted last time.

That cello player I wasn't too happy with her when I got her. But she has grown on me. I used her in the background story of Nat & Kat. Originally I thought it was part of Hidden in the Shadows, but just realised it wasn't. It was part of a Spy Camp background. Well, she was a mother in that, and that seemed to fit her really well. When I was "casting" for the bands, I saw her, and just thought of cellist. So that's where she ended up.

The 1/12 world, I just feel is so "cute". They are tiny but pretty functional. There is some limitation in rotational articulation in the arms. That caused some difficulties. Otherwise, I think they worked out well. Especially making the stage seem larger, and more in keeping with their scale.

Thanks, Adeno. That grand piano is just a cheap pink Barbie piano I got from Aliexpress. I just spray painted it black, so it was in better keeping with the bands I had in mind.

Wow! I’m digging this stage setup very much! I love all of the intricate details you put into this, especially the lighting. Speaking of, what are you using the the stage string lights? It fits very well in this scale without looking too big or out of place. They kind of remind me of some mini led strip lights my wife bought for some Christmas wreaths that are powered via usb.

Also where did you find (or kitbash from) those strings instruments? I happened to pick up a 1/6 scale Fender Stratocaster a couple months ago and it looks very similar to yours, although the scale of yours looks a tad big (unless it’s on a smaller framed figure…)

Thank you collectorofmany. The lighting on the scaffolding is basically LED fairy lights or Christmas Lights. They are powered by USB and have a remote to change the colours. One thing that they can't do, is changing the brightness, which is a shame. They are held in place with lots of the smallest size cable ties. There are 200 lights on that rig!

The spotlights are Lume Cube lights. Sometimes I had the snoot on them to turn them into spots. Other times, I'd have them open for bigger coverage. But they are so small they are ideal for 1/6 dioramas, just a bit expensive. What isn't expensive in 1/6 these days?

The string instruments were all got from eBay. Mostly China, of course. I hate that some say 1/6 scale, and when you get them are 1/12. It seems that some of the sellers don't understand scale, now how to calculate it. My first violin was supposed to be 1/6 but turned out too big. So after an internet search of violin sizes, I calculated the 1/6 size and then checked each seller looking for dimensions. Different guitars have different sizes, from my experience. Some can have more or fewer frets. Whether my Fender is too big, I didn't measure the guitars. I just decided whether they were "close enough", and that was good for me.
