C'thulu would be proud of your handiwork. This is impressive or beyond that. Can't wait to see it painted.

Diana wrote:He looks so bada$$ already I am reeeaaally looking forward to seeing the painted finished figure!
GubernatorFan wrote:Very nice monster! He's assuming a definite shape now and it's great seeing him standing on his proper feet (and tails). Amazing how you pulled all this together from so many disparate elements that all need to function well with each other to make him work (as opposed to clothing and accessories which are more elective). And I know how much more together this will look once you get to painting him.

skywalkersaga wrote:This is such a fascinating build, I am riveted with each new update! And it's adorable to see that your kitties are obviously 'interested' as well. :')
GubernatorFan wrote:Such a complex build. I just hope you remember where everything goes. And that the cats don't abscond with your parts.
Valiarde wrote:As I like both, Ctlhulhu and LotR I'm watching this project with interest.

Thanks! It's two separate builds now, I'll do Morgoth later.
Stryker2011 wrote:Oh, wow! The cutting of all those spikes sounds absolutely daunting. The light up eyes is fantastic. This guy is going to be such an impressive beast.
BAMComix wrote:Nice!!!
skywalkersaga wrote:This is already looking awesome!
GubernatorFan wrote:I agree. Nice progress, and the lit-up eyes photo is an enticing glimpse into what he will look like in all his glory.

Well two figures are better than one
wow looking great already! Kinda like an artwork on that last pic with the light on.
Randam Hajile wrote:Wow, this really became a beast! I love the light-up eyes!
Ovy wrote:Shovelchop, how many tentacles and spikes do you want to attach??
Shovelchop: Yes.
And totally agree, this one looks like an artwork and it should totally be your avatar.
GubernatorFan wrote:Good idea, Ovy.
Alex, this is going to be one fearsome beast for sure, with all of them spikes. And it will make up for size (compared with the piece of art you showed) with the complexity of the design. Using a spike for the light switch is pure brilliance!
OceanGirl24 wrote:This is so cool! I just love seeing the process and everything you're using to create this beast.
Don't you just wish someone would supply you with unending parts and pay you to do this kind of thing? With no deadlines or anything. Just creating what you want. lol
Oh good, I wish all sorts of characters were this flexible on scale.shovelchop81 wrote:Canon says (from H P Lovecraft himself) he can change size from a man to continent, so that has me covered as 1/6! LOL.
I did try this as commercial venture at some point and even had a Saudi Prince (there are a lot of them I know) wanting to commission me to make 1/6 versions of his royal bodyguards!

And that sounds fascinating... I don't dare ask.
GubernatorFan wrote:Thanks for the succinct video on Cthulhu. I for one, knew next to nothing.
I meant it was odd the prince wanted a sixth-scale version of his guards.
Now, now, Alex. You are an artist, and even royals worship those!shovelchop81 wrote:GubernatorFan wrote:Thanks for the succinct video on Cthulhu. I for one, knew next to nothing.

Maybe he wanted to order them around while in bed or something? I don't know how old he was either so could have been still a kid, I only communicated through his 'personal shopper?' or some such intermediary, a prince in Saudi wouldn't talk to a pleb like me!

I truly admire your creativity and actually following through.
Randam Hajile wrote:You addede even more spikes and tentacles, since I last checked the thread! Very cool!
I looks like you could even build a giant crab for Ovy from the leftover monster parts...
GubernatorFan wrote:Nice! So "just" painting left now? Strikers are so inconsiderate! Hope it all works out well.
