Head Repaints

Hey fellas,

Been a little busy doing some head paints lately.

Here's a quick before.



And the after.



Trying something different with the skintone, using beige with a little bit of red mixed in.

Also I'm not sure if I've shared this here yet or not, but I redid an old HT Mark Rolston head I had kicking around, he makes for a great German.


I've been trying to do more heads to gear up for a commission for a friend of mine, where I'll be doing a couple dedication figures based on a couple of his relatives during WWII.

You have certainly added some subtlety and realism to these head sculpts!

In that case it is positively marvelous!

Always glad to see others tackling repainting headsculpts.... it's definitely not easy at this scale. At least, not for me... my hand tends to shake, *sigh*. But yeah, great job at bringing some more life to them! And I'm very intrigued to see the eventual 1/6 versions of your friend's relatives.

Thanks! Heh I've been doing a lot of 1/12 scale heads for 6" figures lately too, so going to 1/6 is quite refreshing, feels like you're working on a huge canvas instead of the head of a pin, haha.

Ha, yes, I guess it all depends on one's perspective! I've never dared to attempt to repaint 1/12 faces, so to me even 1/6 feels really, really small.

Looking good. And the project for your friend sounds awesome. Good luck with that.
