FWIW this is the washing machine used in the above scenes.

Funny. And that washing machine is really cool.

I wonder if we’ll ever see a decent Q in 1/6...

The only one I know about is Sideshow's and it was pretty ordinary.

The washing machine scene is excellent! Great job, shazzdan! From the photo, Sideshow's Q actually looks pretty neat.

Here is a little shoe shine kit I put together with the Kiwi shoe polish. Unfortunately it is closer to 1:4 scale rather than 1:6. The polishing brushes are made from bamboo toothbrushes.

I'm keeping an eye on prices. They are still averaging around $2 each plus shipping.

Here is the egg carton. I measured a full-sized carton and this mini is exactly 1:6 scale.

This is crazy, I've only ever seen this scale of home products in the Barbie accessories toy aisle. lol...sometimes you can find pretty decent stuff for cheap.
Australian Grocery chain store promotion - Page 2 Img_2044
I included my hand to show scale. With careful painting these could look pretty good I'd bet.

That is true. Check out these threads (one of them is specifically dedicated to the reuse or customization of Barbie items) :

OK, all of these are suitable for one-sixth projects. The scale of these varies from 1:6 to a little over 1:5.

Australian Grocery chain store promotion - Page 2 COltWYC

---------------------------
From top left to bottom right:
1. box of Lipton tea
2. box of Weet Bix breakfast cereal
3. box of Sunbites crackers
4. packet of Huggies daipers (in Australia they are called "nappies")
5. packet of Finish dishwasher detergent tablets
6. bottle of Pantene hair shampoo
7. jar of Leggos pasta sauce
8. carton of Coles free range eggs
9. packet of Arnotts Tim Tam chocolate cookies (in Australia they are called "biscuits")
10. jar of Nescafe Gold instant coffee
11. bottle of Mount Franklin spring water (1.5 liter, not 375 ml)
12. bottle of Daily Juice orange juice
13. packet of Birds Eye potato gems
14. packet of Messy Monkeys snacks
15. packet of Purina Supercoat dog food
16. bottle of Cold Power washing detergent
--------------------------------

If anyone wants some they will be $1.50US ea. I reckon I can fit 4-5 in one small padded pack/envelope so you can have up to five for a flat shipping cost, which will be $3.00US.

Send me PM if interested.

Forgot one:

17. White King Power Clean toilet cleaner.

The Vanish Gold presoaker is too big - between 1:4 and 1:3 scale - and is too fat to fit into a small shipping packet. If the packet is over 2cm in thickness, the shipping cost jumps to $12US.

I'm glad you've collected all these and that they all work with the scale. Unfortunately, they appear nearly impossible to find online.

That's why I have offered to do it myself. I'm not making money from the above deal. It is a favour to you guys.

Oh, I missed that. How nice. Why not offer them through your eBay store? Or is it simpler this way?

If I did it through ebay, I'd have to charge at least 20% more.

If anyone wants the complete set (30 pcs) it will be $40 plus $12 shipping.

It's back! Coles has run the promotion again this year with new products. It only started today so I haven't seen any of them yet. It is good that there is an expanded selection but it is bad because it has sparked interest in the first ones again, which will drive up prices.

Here is the new range.

Australian Grocery chain store promotion - Page 2 294cde70-a460-11e9-8f69-1f826fa41b8d

Think I'm going to try and get a complete set as fast as possible and sell it off for lots of money. Then I'll wait for the craze to die down and try getting some at more reasonable prices.

And for those of us in the UK M&S are running the same promotion for their products.

https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/10/can-pick-mini-food-toys-kids-free-ms-summer-10149447/

Don't shop there much, so I don't expect to pick up one anytime soon. Pity it wasn't one of the main supermarket chains.

The New Zealand version still seems to have healthy trade.

There seems to be a similar promotion in the US by Zuru but I don't know which supermarkets are involved.

I don’t often shop at Marks and Spencers but one of my mum’s friends does and picked up one of the minis for me this week. The scale varies depending on the product from what I’ve seen in the stores (the can of tuna and soup look very oversized), but it’s safe to say most of them will work well with 1/6th scale from what I’ve seen. The one I got is really just printed card with some foam or something inside to keep it rigid, but it’s lovely quality and all the text on the packaging is clear and legible, even down to the cooking instructions on the back!

The paper bag they come in is recyclable but I decided to turn it into a little shopping bag instead.

I’m in the process of making a kitchen diorama for Max and Juno so I’m looking forward to filling their fridge with goodies!

I do wish Tesco would get in on the Little Shop thing though, M&S is so expensive! Sad

Nice finds, Christine. I ended up buying a lot of Zuru's from eBay, and most of them seem at least a tad oversized for our scale.

Most of these things tend to range between 1:5 and 1:4 in scale with a few that are close to 1:6. 1:5 scale is often usable for 1:6 projects but anything larger just doesn't look right.
