Thank you very much, Craig, I'm glad you liked it. Happy New Year to you too!csyeung wrote:Haha Awesome Ian! Thanks for this! Happy new year!
Stryker2011 wrote:Interesting effect. The lighting is great. Not sure about that body to be honest.

I'm glad you agree! Jabba did not become a major crime lord for nothing! And, as Han said, he's a wonderful human being!Theboo-bomb wrote:What an entrepreneur, a trail blazer that Jabba guy is, always thinking ahead of the curve and making lots of credits along the way.

A retake, using two different types of fire electrical fire effects. But Ralf has to remind me how to keep the dark skies on the screen from lighting up on the photos.
Thank you for the advice. The lamp parallel to the screen trick I know, although in this case the only sources of light were the screen (albeit displaying an actually dark image) and the little light sources for the fire. With the lamp parallel to the screen, there is the problem of it possibly lighting up the back of the figure, which can then be reflected on the screen (depending on what is shown on it, it can look quite obvious). The other problem is, of course, that the farther you put the figure from the screen, the less screen background you get to work with.Randam Hajile wrote:GubernatorFan wrote:3: Vampire lit by flames.

This is actually quite difficult. Your best measure against lighting up the screen is to work as far as possible from the screen using a small light source. Depending on the scene you can also try to orient the lamp parallel to the screen, thus minimizing reflections. Still, it is mostly a trial and error process...
Thank you for the suggestion. I will see if I can find the appropriate controls. The camera I used (and usually use, out of convenience) is just the phone cam on my Samsung Galaxy. I do have a real electronic camera somewhere, but that would require excavations.davidd wrote:What kind of camera are you using? To compensate for the camera opening up the aperture in response to a dimly illuminated scene, find the "exposure compensation" control and set it, for scenes like this, somewhere between -1 stops and -2 stops. Usually the adjustments are in 1/3 of an f-stop. That doesn't matter. Just select -1 or -2. Then the auto-exposure will be darker than usual.
Ooh, I like the way you're thinking. I'll keep it in mind for later on.Ovy wrote:And here I was thinking you were burning one of those vile vampires on a stake!
Anyway you could give him a scarf to hide the neck.
Btw is it ever too late to wish a happy new year?
Thank you for the kind words. I love all versions of this head, and can't seem to put them away (I had to make an effort to substitute another head for variation in the comparison to the WB body shot). The dunes I have used mostly for Star Wars (Tatooine) purposes so far, but they came in useful the other day for this and a photo that ended up in the anniversary thread. Unfortunately, at some point sunlight messed up the left end of the backdrop (not visible here).Valiarde wrote:Thank you for the pic! That dress was something I had in my basket every now and then I think. Lovel head and i like the dunes backdrop
Thank you kindly! But I have to admit that is probably because it's fake (printed)!BAMComix wrote:The stonework on your last pic looks terrific, Ian!
Yeah the sun can be pretty harsh with those backdrops. I only have a few but might get some more soon. They do come in handy for stories.GubernatorFan wrote:Thank you for the kind words. The dress is nothing too fancy, but easy to use (it is stretchy) and safe to use (on the seamless bodies). I have several of it. With the right accessories, it could conceivably even be used for something non-modern.

Someone wanted to know what this head (SDH025-C) looks like on this body (TBL S47B)... so here it is:
Thanks, I think so too. Yes, S47B (and S46A) has narrower shoulders, which is what you are observing. And it is mostly a good thing. It is, unfortunately, a little too tall. In terms of height, my favorite TBLeague / Phicen female bodies are S29B and S25B.lawlaw91 wrote:She looks good on this body, I feel like this 47B is smaller and more compact, compared to my old S17b, the shoulder almost reaches unreasonable 3 heads on a girl's body, which made my girls look so board, so wide ..........
Thank you very much!Visisonor wrote:Cool custom, and great-looking group!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked them. I didn't know from your message about the lightsabers whether you would manage to post something and I figured I needed to do something in your honor. So thanks for the gentle push.skywalkersaga wrote:Awww, love it, GF! Nice to see the Nelvaan Anakin in action again. :'D
Your Clone Troopers look great altogether!
Yeah, move over Adam Driver lol. I'm glad you like the group shot. I know he's the plainest, but the new white clone trooper is my favorite.Stryker2012 wrote:That is one buff, Anakin. Nice group photo with his backup pals.
