I'm assuming this is based on something? Otherwise I'm not seeing why anyone would do post apocalyptic themed figures in exceptionally clean, sexy kimonos???

It feels like TBL are just out for maximum cash, with minimum effort lately.
I bet these still clock in at $200+ despite barely any content or coherence.

Hmm... is 'A' a new, shorter 'teenaged' body? It looks shorter and slightly less stylised than the S44/45 that came out in '21, and although the height looks right it's too flat-chested to be a 26/27. 'B' looks like it probably is the S44/45 in some shots, but in others it appears to have 'a bust'. I'm not enough of a fan of either type to take the risk to find out by buying them, though - and definitely not at that price.

Otherwise, these seem like another stubbornly ill-conceived release from TBL when they should be trying something different.


EDIT: The height scale between 20-21 centimetres (approx 8 inches) for 'A' suggests that it is indeed a new or at least 'unique' smaller body. OK for a child character I guess, providing you bundle it up in enough clothing.

Ok, I didn't even realise these were by tbleague at first, just thought they were a random generic company. Guess that says it all.

Like GeeWillikers, I was momentarily curious which body that was, but will just wait and find out. /shrug

I like the concept, but this feels undercooked.

The "doomsday" theme isn't pushed enough with the character designs. Right now they just look like sexy Halloween costume geishas with swords. Also, definitely not a fan of this body, whatever version it is. No shoulders and lollipop heads- pass...

They are probably fine for what they are, but I can't help but feel a little "meh" about them. Which is good for my wallet.

Idk, the A body looks like the same one used for the PL-193 & 194 Green Snake / White Snake to me. B body is hard to tell, being wrapped in that kimono and all, it seems too short to be the new S50/S51.

My first impression was looks like TBL made a Super Duck set. Yeah, $200 for a bare bones set is a deal breaker for me even if I liked the figures a lot more than these. Easy pass.

Seems like Tbleague is trying to incorporate more and more of these ridiculous and heavy bases that no one actually wants.

Looks like TBL maybe took some inspiration from its past -- "Kimono" Shi from 8 years ago -- but without using the specific actual character, and generally, with much less character overall.  So, me too, meh...

I was rather excited when i saw a Doomsday theme from TBL...easy pass!

The figures look good to me and they are at bigbadtoystore for about $150, but it's the base that kills my interest.

If TBLeague was to either get rid of the base and drop the price by $25 or even $35 dollars.  Or use a standard stand or replace it with either a forest or a house setting then it would be better.

Yeah the white version is definitely a new or 'unique' body. At only 8 inches tall, which makes it TBL's smallest 1/6 body, and it isn't lumbered with TBL standard-issue Hewj Bewbs

I am tempted to get just one, but then I realise I'd struggle to find a use for it other than a well-bundled child character in the background.

I'm finding it much easier right now to turn my nose up at TBL's efforts in general after taking a long hard look at what I got for my money with the White Ghost Soldier.

The body might be tbleague's answer to a Blythe doll body. On the one hand, I adore Blythe doll clothing (it's just SO CUTE as compared to the ridiculously sexualised crap the 1/6 world is littered with) so I would love more bodies that could fit into those. But on the other hand, I struggle to see what kinds of 1/6 heads would actually fit on it or look young enough to make sense.

I don't know what body that is? Never seen it before.

I can't be certain, but the one on the right seems to have a thicker waist and maybe slightly wider shoulders.

There are two different bodies shown in the product announcement from what I can see. The first one could be the same body that Annalise shows, but the smaller of the two looks particularly tiny, and I had not personally seen one that looked like it before.

Oooh! Annalise, I think you might be onto something. That release is not on my radar as it is not my thing and apparently I never paid attention to the size of the body, but whatever differences there may be to this new one could be a trick of the eye due to the different style in clothing. The hands look more like those tiny anime hands, whereas this release looks to be coming with somewhat normal hands...

The hands are certainly different on this one, less stylised, but technically they aren't part of 'the body' so it could be the same one. It's interesting how much a 'normal' head and hands skew your perception of how stylised the body itself is.

I admit I don't really take that much notice of the anime bodies though.

Great observation, I hadn't noticed that. Maybe it is different then?

We might never know... No one here has shown off their in-hand Green or White Snakes and it seems like not many are interested in this one either, so finding someone with both to do a comparison could be difficult!

I wanted to do a cute scene, a parent with their child on their lap giving them a hug, so I took their two figurines. (I didn't necessarily want to do a mother and daughter, but I found the two of them and which went very well, because in the same theme.)
The fault of this figurine is that the little girl has a very short kimono, which means that when she sits as in the photo, you can see her panties. You can hide it with the long sleeves, but it looks weird.
It's not that easy to do, because the dresses are slippery and the figures slide a little
