These Star Trek figures turned out quite decent.  discussion - Your Latest Purchase... - Page 24 1f44d As a big fan, I should really add some to my collection.

Here is a little update on the Mina Harker headsculpt, I have recently purchased (see above).

I was going for a Winona's "Reality bites"-haircut and trimmed the head, so that I could mount the hair pieces from a HT "Resident Evil Alice"-figure. I also repainted the eyebrows slightly. While it's not perfect, I think it is already an improvement. Still, the mouth on the headsculpt is slightly to small ... but there is very little to be done about it.

That's quite a striking difference with the new hair and eyebrows.

Very nice work, Randam. Definitely an improvement. You are the master of the molded hair transplant, among other things. If you make this a permanent character, perhaps consider how to make the head sit just a little lower on the neck.

Thanks for the nice feedback!

@Gubernatorfan
You are right that the head sat quite high on the S33 body in this photo. I corrected it in consequent pictures, but then found that the light in the initial series of photos was better. Crying or Very sad It sometimes drives me crazy how every flaw (dust etc.) is revealed in toy photography.

Here is a shot with correctly seated head (but ugly ankles):

Randam, I'm glad you caught it yourself and are able to rectify it. And that seated photo is very nice. Yes, if one looks for it, one can see the ankles. But you know what? I'd rather have (or see someone have) a functional action figure that can stand than perfect ankles that are good for nothing but lying about. Wink Your photography is beautiful anyway.

I agree, excellent find and kitbash, Dal. But isn't it a little lost in this section? Hope it finds its way home to the Ammo Arms and Dinosaur Valley threads.

Thank you Ian Very Happy . I guess so yeah, but he was my latest purchase, so I figured I'd post him up. Don't worry though, Louis will make an appearance soon in both the Ammo-Arms and upcoming chapters bounce bounce

This guy came last week (The In-Famous Space Wizard) He'll be joining my Star Wars universe, as I have no vested interest in the character for the Marvel universe (I don't have Thanos, or any of the rest of the gang on PO). He's very tall.

And this guy came yesterday (Scaletta's Mr. Robot, ie., Bishop/Lance Henriksen from Aliens). The body is a bit of a disappointment, especially since the arms don't match the hands or head sculpt -- It almost looks like he's wearing some sort of tan long-sleeved undergarment. The torn torso is pretty cool.

Very nice new acquisitions. How are you liking the "space wizard" as a figure? "Mr Robot" can probably benefit from a kitbash modification to the body or hands, although I'm not sure even that would save him from those pesky aliens. Wink

The Space Wizard is interesting. The body is a ratchet type, but not overly stiff like the early Phicens; the main outfit is flexible rubber, which is an odd choice — and if I were anywhere where I couldn’t control the environment, I would be paranoid as hell that it would rot pretty quickly. It also deters the figure from posing much.

Well, I just did my "Black Friday" shopping and picked up the following in stock items from Timewalker:

Glenn Rhee, since I have Maggie on PO:

2 of these bodies (one of which is already designated for a custom project in the works -- not made by me -- of Brendan Fraser from The Mummy):

And Redman Toys (Mina Harker), which I plan to use for my Western Era (getting rid of that $#!tty hat though):

Grabbed this outfit off feebay recently. I think it's a fairly new company, they have like a couple older sets before this. The yellow is more a greenish yellow than the bright yellow in the pictures. Still, nice to have more color in the collection than the usual black outfits. The tiny buttons are all sewn on this piece which I have to give them credit for. Often they are just glued on. The metal stick thingy is to help you pull the buttons through the button holes I presume, cool that they included that cause it would take forever to button up. I am still waiting for head and body to arrive to kitbash this figure although this fit nicely on a 25b that I had. Also comes with a tie and black gloves and  socks (socks are closed so I presume for feet.

Edit: the hem of the dress also has a flat metal wire which I just noticed.
