Hey folks,
I'm trying to push myself to be more active with taking figure pictures...so here's some of what I've been up to lately.

Cool shots. The outdoor stuff is the best. Really like the variety of characters.

Beautiful figures and photos. Not only do you make them hyper-realistic, you also manage to fit them so naturally into the environment and even 1:1 buildings don't look out of place the way you shoot them.

Blackpool, I highly recommend doing it! He's a ton of fun. Just be mindful if you use the lantern, it can be a little temperamental.

These are so awesome! I love the transition from the artificial backgrounds to the real ones, the depth and scaling with the figures is really superb. Is that a bearded Arthur Morgan in the first shot? You manipulate and photograph the snow very well.

Thanks a lot! Smile Actually they're all shot in a natural environment. I added in a slight light reflection in one of the lantern pics though.

Also well spotted, that's definitely Mr. Morgan, sporting a hat I made for him out of paper towel. The one he came with didn't fit his hair pieces very well, I found.

That last military pic is all of a sudden looking a lot like current events in eastern Europe! Shocked Shocked

Which speaks well to the realism of your scenes. Ambitious to venture out in the cold and snow to set up such an engaging variety of shots featuring a number of figures with various tiny bits and pieces to keep track of.

These are great photos, outdoor photos always look the best! I only tried this once and only once in my life. Had an older retired couple next door staring at me with a "who do we call to take have him taken away" look on their faces. After that I would only try it if I had a large amount of private land around my house. If I did have the land, I would have a 1/6 scale city in my back yard.

Ahh I feel ya there, haha, being seen can be a little awkward...that's why I've been trying some more night shots lately Wink

One time I had a buddy from Instagram visiting and we did a little 'Nam shoot in a local cemetary (such great foliage for it) and we had some...glances. Got some great shots though!

If I had a more private yard I'd definitely have a little trench/foxhole area set up for some shots.

thanks for sharing
nice idea to take a close up of the backpack and gun… we should focus on accessories more often rather than the figures only

Thank you very much, I do appreciate it Smile

I agree, sometimes seeing the gear and kit can be really nice, especially if work's been done to help improve the look of them.
