151NEW PRODUCT: TBleague s42-s43 - Page 7 Empty S43 ankle stand, concept Sun Aug 01, 2021 1:09 am

Tabul

A few ideas popped into my head to make a nice stand for the seamless feet, but the ankle stand seems to be the most promising. So the idea is to use a normal stand but instead of a crotch hook or neck clamp, instead use a ring like leg lock, made of plastic and reduce the size of the little pole. As you can see in the picture it actually holds her pose and the base can be hidden under a sheet of paper to minimize its footprint (hanging by a thread right now). Very Happy

Finished the prototype for a leg stand, it can hold tricky poses, the clear plastic is from a bandaid tape, the round part that holds the tape, used a mini saw to cut it with and some thick wire to hold everything together. It does work and is easy to hide. Wink

Nicely done and brilliant posing/photography, especially in the first shot, which looks totally unsupported. The other way to go would be to transform it into something that she can (just) lean on, that would not need to be hidden -- like a tree trunk or a column. Or, give her an appropriate fantasy staff to lean on with one hand?

Thanks, but going to see if I can find a see-through plastic that is not as tall or thick as that pole, maybe thigh high for double support to see if she can be lifted into the air.

Female Jiaou Doll figures (at least the ones with seamless ankles) came with clear plastic stands you could put together as you wanted.

Here is the finished leg stand that i've been working on, the main part is the suction cup which makes it ideal for smooth-flat surface. if you look carefully at the image you can tell what was used.  Wink  NEW PRODUCT: TBleague s42-s43 - Page 7 Tbleague_s43_with_prototype_stand_by_adelphievs_deonjs9-fullview.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9MTcwNyIsInBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcL2I0MDZmOTBlLWU0NWMtNDcxOC04ODUzLWU3MmViZmQ2MWNmZlwvZGVvbmpzOS0wNjBiYzA0NS00MmU4LTRmYmQtYmQ5Ni1hMmRkNzgwOGYwNzMuanBnIiwid2lkdGgiOiI8PTEyODAifV1dLCJhdWQiOlsidXJuOnNlcnZpY2U6aW1hZ2Uub3BlcmF0aW9ucyJdfQ

I was wondering about that too. Elegant solution, but if it is tight or gravity pulls it away (as it would), it might leave a mark -- at least for a while.

Your solution looks sooo good, but I would advise some caution. If you use it for photoshoot then take it off, you should be fine, but if you're gonna display her like that for a long period, it could lead to skin tearing. Maybe a larger transparent strip could be better for a long term display, like in your previous post.

I read your concerns and happy to say she is ok, had it with the string for just a few minutes. Now this one was super complicated at first, what I ended up doing was tied her heel to the support because her shoes were too slippery, I folded scotch tape so I wouldn't damage her fabric. Very Happy

I find it really interesting how the S42/S43 looks nearly identical to the female characters' bodies in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

Welcome welcome! While I agree that the shape is there (I’m a big fan of the series and hoped something worked with this body for my custom Kasumi, but alas it didn’t), the reality is that outside of Tina (and maybe Helena if you don’t mind it being a little too tall), the body is waaaaaaay too tall. Tina is 5’8.5” and in 1/6 the S42 comes in at about 5’8.75” depending on head sculpt used, so basically right there. Helena is 5’7” so it’s not too much taller. The other female characters are 5’ to 5’5”. So they are a bit on the short side for the tall and majestic S42 (the thing TOWERS over other TBL bodies, it’s really quite impressive 😂).

Sorry, I can be a bit weird and ocd when it comes to the numbers side of this hobby lol. If you haven’t already, check out the Phicen/TBL body catalogue thread here. It’s one of the best resources on the site for what body to use for a custom character

Your lady in red looks great, Tabul. I'm surprised that Flirty Girl costume fit the bigger S43.
I pre-ordered the yellow & green set in 2019, followed up with my supplier mid of last year, said the batch still hasn't arrived yet!

Tabul wrote:Yes it is Anna with blue eyes, you are correct the head could be a little bit bigger but you get use to it (is one of the best head sculpts out there for a great price), besides you would need a really good camera to capture her real proportions. Her outfit is from Flirty Girl, hopefully they will create more superhero type costumes. I have to mention even though she is able to stand on her own she has weak ankles limiting her poses but everything has a solution, just use double sided tape to secure her footing and maybe reinforce the back of her shoes with a hard thin plastic Smile, here is a picture for reference against PL2020-173 with the s43 head.

Hi Tabul! By any chance do you recall where you got the costume pieces? I recognise some like the leather corset & sleeves (how are those holding up btw? do they flake/disintegrate?), Im curious where the cape/pants/belt/boots are from ^^ Thanks!

Anyone aware of a TBLeague kit female figure that is essentially the same mold as S42/43, but with detachable feet? I have the S42/43 in hand, and here is what I've observed so far while comparing to other similar models, whether in hand or from user photos:

S38/39 [in hand]: Curvy figure like S42/43 but larger bust size and considerably shorter.

S46/47 [in hand]: Similar butt and hips as S42/43, but smaller bust size. Same/similar mold as Month, Bastet, Hell's Messenger [all in hand] and perhaps Saintess Knight [from photos].

S52/53 [in hand]: Similar bust as S42/43, but smaller hips and butt. Same/similar mold as Kier (FSoD), Gethsemoni, Sinful Suzi [all in hand], likely Viking Woman [from photos], and perhaps Knight of Fire [from photos].

Nefertiti [from photos]: Same/similar mold as S42/43, including seamless feet (ugh!).

I have also seen people cut off the seamless feet on their S42/43 and install custom adapters for removable feet, but it seemed to make the figure disproportionate below the knees, and I also prefer not to risk damaging the figure.

Any further observations that you all may have are appreciated.

That's some very useful information right there! I didn't realise that the S43 and the S53 have such noticeable differences beyond the feet.

Here is a conversion guide, in case you want to give it a try:
