Interesting outfit. Looks like they're using the old s23 figure for these sets, based off the legs muscles. I like the Asian head but I'm almost certain people are going to try to sell it for $80-$90 when it comes out, and that's too much for me.

Hmmm. I... I just don't know what to think about these. The outfit's are... uhm... I don't know. Better, in that they seem to be more... practical...? But still... so much reused stuff on most of these figures now that these guys are actually starting to bore me with their releases in a lot of ways when it comes to their female figures. So many opportunities being lost for these made-up hodge-podge figures when they could be doing Danger Girl, Witchblade, Fathom/Aspen, Barbarella, etc., if they'd just get off their butts and talk to the license holders (who would probably be more than a little excited to work with a company that has proved they can deliver the "sexy" femme fatale in 1/6 form).

Didn't you hear? They are going to be wearing siamese cats down there. Shocked Shocked Shocked

For someone like me who has little clue as to what has been released in prior sets and so on, this is all new to me. I have no real interest in figures as "characters" but I see some good kitbashing opportunities as I venture into some of my projects based around Fire Emblem. Ain't perfect, but it isn't called kit"bashing" for nothing!

Apart from the contradiction in terms, the 1/6 Nordic Warrior Asian Version looks particularly stunning -- if I were to get it, I would not need any reference to "nordic," as she would be a fine fantasy character anyway. That goes for the "European" version too, actually. Both outfits remind me faintly of some outfit designs from Assassin's Creed. And there is some kitbash potential, of course. But overall, Stryker makes a good point about the company's choices.

My guess is that it originates from the characters 连体 - which means siamese, but are also used when describing a one piece swimsuit, or other garments which cover both upper and lower part of the body, like a jumpsuit or a racing driver's outfit.

The use of the word "siamese" is not uncommon in eBay listings for these items.

Weird collection of parts from old figures and nothing except the axe looks very nordic.

Was this released yesterday by any chance? 😋

I personally thought the Medusa shield with the Greek wave motif along the rim was very compellingly Nordic. Smile

Ah those bloody ancient Greeks, muscling their way into Valhalla again! 😆

The Persian scimitar was also a nice touch!

Well, while scimitars tend to be Near Eastern in principle (so, yes), this one is so fantasy, it could belong pretty much anywhere, especially in a fantasy world, I suppose.

Fair point. Still I think using the word Nordic anywhere near these figures, is pushing it.

Ignoring that, they look nice though. I'd definitely kitbash parts of this. Namely the uniform. I already have the plate sections (from the old crusader figure) painted to look like this, but the fabric sections are really nice. I'd be inclined to dump most of the mismatched multinational weapons and shields though.

Given all the mismatching, are we sure this isn't a clever fools prank?

Well, not bad, at least they are starting to wear more clothing.

Anyway, still waiting for my Eastern Warrior African version and Western Warrior Australian version.

I like that the outfits have more cloth to them than usual. That said, the design is still a little too haphazard for my tastes. Tbleague seems to struggle with choosing one aesthetic style per figure and sticking with it, and with understanding that a lot of the time, 'less is more'.

Though I do like these somewhat more than the more armor-heavy figures. This is borderline a dress...almost? ;p

Not really that keen on the Asian head, something about it looks odd to me. The blond one at least seems to have the slightest hint of an expression? Maybe they heard us moaning about blank-staring figures...

One thing that stands out is the hands... am I right in thinking these are different hand gestures than the normal tbleague figures?

Yes these do appear to be new hands than many of the other sets recently released.

TravelGuide

Indeed. The hands are different. The 'relaxed' hands look a bit weird though (see last picture of the asian).

I like these although as usual i prefer the second outfit with the first weapon selection and i'd like to see the side skirts having real scales rather than just printed outlines

I like the Asian version. Could use as a base of the Chinese assassin's Creed which was quite cool but only came out as a smaller game.

Oh boy... once again I'm kinda going against the stream here.

Aside from the totally random "Nordic" label, I simply loved those, ESPECIALLY the asian one with the bow. It has a cool MMORPG look to it, with a bunch of messy details on the costume. I'll have to hold my breath so hard to not get both versions, to later change the european's weapon to a staff and turning her class into a healer. They will fit perfectly well with the Lucifer's Isabel, which I PO'd.

Now they could've let the asian version with just the bow. This recycled sword from the "Fighter Woman" figure just didn't go well with it. If they felt the need to give her a second weapon, a recycled dagger from Ahrian with a leg sheath would be way cooler.

Also, I always found those pair of hands with three stretched fingers and two recoiled ones so weird. The Royal Defender, Kinghts of FIre, Spartan Army, Viking Woman and Imperial Guardian didn't come with them, so I thought they had finally retired these nonsense hands for good... until now... oh welp...

I wish TBL would release male counterparts of these fantasy figures, preferably using M33 or a new average body. Till now, there's only Barbarian Soul, Hercules and Death Dealer.

Like I said, omitting the silly "Nordic" label, these actually work well as fantasy warrior characters. The Asian version looks more striking (in part because of the outfit variant), although the European has a better shot at being conventionally "Nordic." As for the males, they also did Alexander the Great. And in partnership with others, there were a couple of Conan and one He-Man sets (that were designed to go with TBLeague bodies). I think I have reviewed all of these here, but only Barbarian Soul of the ones you mentioned. Oh, and they did do Hercules twice (I only picked up the first, Steve Reeves, as a set). As for the "weird" hands, I think those are maybe the ones that came with a couple of earlier sets like the first ("Nordic!") Cleopatra and a couple of others. Never found them particularly useful, but who knows what was going on in the source material.

I like her too. Which doesn't mean I'm going to get her, but that's mostly because I end up getting not many figures.

As for the realism, or suggested lack thereof. It´s a fantasy figure. There are tons of actionfigures whose realism can be discussed.

I think the loose special hands are for bow shooting, for a letting loose of the string pose or reaching at a new arrow in the quiver.
