Hi,

I got a bunch of Barbie dresses and wanted to share my experience with using them on my TBLeague S09C doll.

These dresses are quite cheap - about 1/10 of the price of "regular" cloths. But they are quite tight, especially for the "large bust" bodies. They might work better for slimmer doll bodies. On the S09C, tight dresses barely close in the back. But larger "princess dresses" work OK.

Shoes are not OK - the Barbie shoes are way too small for the regular sized feet of the properly scaled 1/6 doll bodies.

Here are a few examples (apologies - the servimg system does not seem to understand how upright / portrait pictures are to be shown...) :

(anyone knows how to rotate these? They are OK on my laptop and on any site where I have them, but the sergimg server seems to have lost the correct rotation information)

Cheers!

These work remarkably well. What a difference a more realistic body makes. There is a fuller brand of Barbies clothes for which are generally a more predictable fit for seamless bodies. Check out the Barbie DeBarbiefied and Clothing seamless bodies threads. Perhaps I should move this into the former.

Thanks! I will check these out.

Feel free to move my posting wherever you think is appropriate.

Cheers!

Here is another one. This time I shot in landscape mode.

I agree, it is another remarkably good Barbie fit for a TBLeague body. Wish I could give you advice about the servimg system -- I haven't had any issues with it, but it may have something to do with the source of the photo and how it interacts with servimg. Anyway, landscape mode worked.

Another very nice find. Not everything would work in terms of both fit and look, but these certainly would seem to.

I have just looked at this forum post on my mobile - and there the portrait pics show up properly upright!!!

It might have to do with how this forum page is shown in a desktop browser: I am using Google Chrome, and there may be something different to the way how the pics are shown on this browser vs how they are shown on the Android Chrome.

Cheers!

Indeed, these interfaces work in mysterious ways. I use Firefox and a desktop computer.

And on the mobile is something else: I can "like" each posting!
This feature does not seem to be present on the desktop version which I am now looking at...

Possibly there is some setting here on Forumotion which could be tweaked...

You are correct, the "like" button is only available when looking at the forum via a smart phone. There doesn't seem to be a matching option using a regular computer.

Nice outfits. As far as the photos, I often find this issue if you don’t first open your photos in a photo editing program first and then “save as”, pics shot in portrait mode tend to revert back to landscape for some odd reason on certain platforms.

That may be it. I always crop and resample in a program first -- although in theory that too can be done with the phone or maybe a digital camera.

Yes, you are both right - probably a photo editing software adds something to a picture which then makes it being shown properly everywhere. I will experiment a bit.

Yeah. AFAIK a phone flips images automatically, but deskstops don't.

On Barbie-clothes: DarthJ also has a topic about his figures with Barbieclothes.

It's always fun to experiment with doll clothing and tbleague figures, and feels great when you find something that fits (or even just 'almost' fits, lol). Glad you found some that worked for your ladies. : )

TravelGuide -- I believe DarthJ uses mostly non-Barbie fashion doll clothing, but I'm sure there is an overlap.

I think you're right. But I think he does use furniture from Barbie, Sindy and another similar brand.

Are you using standard barbie clothing? If so I'm very surprised it would fit on tbleague bodies, I thought standard Barbie had a very small waist compared to even the slimmest tbleagues. I always imagined barbie curvy had more appropriately fitting clothing for any standard female action figure.

I'm wondering if some of the dresses might be some 'generic' barbie/fashion doll clothing from ebay? As in, marketed for barbies but not actually from an official set.

From my experience, I've managed to fit regular Made-to-Move barbie clothing (dresses, tops, skirts only), onto the smaller tbleague bodies (s25b), but yeah, only the curvy regular or curvy MTM barbie clothing will fit any of the larger tbleague's.

Not very clear to see in the picture (and I don't have a better one of it), but the shorts Allison (she's on the right) is wearing are from Barbie.

She's got a matching headscarf:

The top she's wearing is from Barbie as well:

I got those with a used Barbiecar I bought from someone (I think it was the car in the picture).

Looks great on them! I find sometimes just cropping a little bit the picture and re-saving will solve the sideways pictures. Mostly only happens with pictures from phones.

I was not even aware that there is such a thing as "barbie curvy". I used the clothing that was advertised as "for Barbie". These are not actual Barbie clothes, though - they are from a 3rd party low-cost manufacturer...

Yes, you are right - these dresses I am showing here in this posting thread are "generic", from various eBay sellers. They are just so dirt-cheap - I got 4 sets, and now my doll has 3 princess dresses, 5 ball dresses, 30 regular tight dresses, 3 bathing suits, 5 pants, 5 tops. The one in my current Xmas holiday avatar picture is one of those tops.

The narrow dresses are tight, especially on the S09C which is not the slimmest... but one as to work a bit, push and pull, and then the dresses sit fine. Looks good anyway when the fabric is a bit strechted... Laughing

No problem with those princess dresses or ballroom dresses - these are wide enough.
