From what I gather in my occasional encounters with these on YouTube, at least Andor feels and looks more like "real" Star Wars than the others, which was also a major boon for Rogue One.

Ovy --- yes, yes, you converted me long ago to watching The Expanse. Also Drummer is my ultimate girl-crush, I LOOOOOVE her.  Randam's random pics - Page 17 1f60d

As for the 'other' show you are mentioning, unfortunately no amount of pushing will get me to watch any recent Disney-era Star Wars media. I am extremely stubborn on this fact. MAYYYYBE someday down the road I would potentially change my mind, but only after I finish all my 1/6 scale Star Wars projects, so it would still be several years off before I'd even *consider* it.

Of course, I don't mind if others watch and enjoy it, though. My husband is watching it and seems to like it, but even he cannot get me to watch it. I've had to be incredibly firm on this for my own personal reasons which are too long and involved to explain on poor Randam's thread. Razz

And getting back on topic.... I agree, I had a look at the other entries to the competition, and Randam's photostory was definitely the standout! I love you

well, though I do agree that it is very good (I might not be quite at the same fan level yet as you are), just wait with the crusade/mission until the first season is completely in…. they still have two episodes to send the thing south Wink

Andor‘s advantage imo is that they could start with kind of a blank sheet as not much had been known about him in Rogue One - and the little there was, had been ignored Laughing (as I found out yesterday when rewatching Rogue One). The story works, whether it‘s Star Wars or any other rebellion. But set in some dear environment with some known elements and some new…

I also really liked the Expanse (loved Drummer too Cool ). I did not really get the idea of this protomolecule thing Embarassed , but anyway…

Your pics are a temptation to play Cyberpunk, but I was told that it is kind of the style where you do not see your character but your character‘s hands only? I don‘t particularly enjoy that (not that I have played that many games yet, hardly any actually tongue - I am too old to remember the functions and to slow to act… )

Stryker2011 wrote:I was right (and wrong). I said E OR H, but I see now it’s both.

Well, H was my entry, and E was Valiarde's Revolverman Roland. I think it was pretty easy to guess, as I have shown a few Blade Runner/Cyberpunkish characters here before.

I deeply loved Rogue One, but "The Last Jedi" by Rian Johnson was such a punch in the guts that I am completely done with the new SW movies/series. Worst thing was that my friends were so hyped that they liked the movie -- and I was acting like the party pooper. When I recently watched "Rise of Skywalker" on TV, I could not believe how poor the whole story arc was developed and finished... So, no Andor or Mandalorian series for me any time soon! Especially, because I don't want to motivate Disney with my money to pump out more crap.

With Star Trek/ Picard being rebooted by people who hate Star Trek, I should definitively watch the Expanse now. Smile

Concerning Cyberpunk I have to say that CD project had far too high ambitions. I love and hate the game at the same time. The gameplay loop is rather dull, but the world and atmosphere is really breathtaking. The storytelling is quite inconsistent with some really cool ideas and well-written characters (better than Witcher III) and some infantile (sexistic) crap. But if you have the chance, check it out, Illusion! BTW I think I'm pretty much your age, so that's no excuse... Smile

Thanks for your opinion on the game... and your misplaced trust in my capabilities Wink
well... I suppose it helps when you have a "history of gaming"... but when you play at about 47 for the first time, it might not go that well for some folks, such as myself Laughing
I totally keep forgetting what to do with which keys...(esp. when playing only every couple of weeks)... I had been very much looking forward to the Witcher, but they threw the whole tutorial of functions at me right at the intro... I did not get past that Embarassed
I loved Lara Croft - but dropped out of Jedi Fallen Order after about 2/3 because I could not cope with all the moves and Jedi functions confused

Damn you really nailed that Cyberpunk scene, the setting and characters are spot on. I have not been able to play 2077 yet but have kept up with it since its announcement and release; I understand why it was underwhelming for many and did not quite reach the scope lots of fans of the genre were hoping for, but the world itself is undeniably aesthetically pleasing. The lighting and atmosphere is what is so striking about the genre, and being a master of lighting in your photography this was an ideal project for someone of your caliber and you accomplished it beautifully. All the lights in the neck piece, temple implant, and that dumpster turret - all spectacular!!

Also if anyone is interested in looking into another upcoming independent cyberpunk-style game, check out Vigilance 2099 on the tube. It may not look entirely polished, but the concept itself seems like fun and trying to approach the genre a bit differently.

I feel you. Memorizing different buttom combinations for each and every game is really painful. The gamepad control of the witcher was relatively intuitive, but don't try ever to play it on a PC with mouse and keyboard. I really wanted to replay a modded version on my PC, but I could not make through the tutorial either. Smile
I need to find my PC gamepad ...

Thanks, I still plan to make some improvements on her (the power supply wire on her back need to be hidden much better...).

Vigilance 2099 looks very interesting. I hope they will be able to finish their project soon. The atmosphere is great already.

BTW I can also recommend "Cloudpunk" for its Blade Runner-like cityscapes and lighting... Damn, I really wished someone would remake "G-Police" for modern systems. Randam's random pics - Page 17 1f602

I finished work on a new part of my Witcher diorama set. Based on a small deco oven with light effect, I build a small fireplace. All stones for the wall were made out of FIMO, as shown before.

Here is the result (with low light to show the glowing embers of the fireplace)...

Thanks for the nice comments, folks! I've now attached the old window front to the fireplace part, which gives the diorama a total length of 120 cm (!). Still, there are a lot of things to improve...

As a fan of dark and eerie art, I recently stumbled about the work of Mary Metzger who is a very talented illustrator. I was especially fascinated by her artwork "Death & the Maiden"...

Randam's random pics - Page 17 MEHRPP1_t

I thought about reproducing the picture using 1/6 parts and came up with this little tribute to Mary's original work...
