Did you ever watch The Expanse, Randam?
ETA: And as for Star Wars, while I am purposefully out of the loop of Disney's version of it, as a die-hard fan of the 'real' Star Wars, I don't even really consider it to be 'sci fi'.... at least, to me it is more of a fantasy story that just happens to be set in space. ;p

I think you might enjoy the Expanse, although everyone is different. I love it, for the most part.Randam Hajile wrote:
The Expanse is on my list of series to watch. I watched two episodes so far but felt I really need some time to concentrate on it. I think it is nothing that you can enjoy while doing other stuff.
I share your feelings about Disney's Star Wars, Sky. It's more Space Fantasy than Science Fiction. I'm still resisting feeding the Disney monster with a "Disney+" subscription, so I'm also out of the loop with their new series.
The competition rules prohibit that I disclose my entry before tomorrow ... but I will post the images (especially the fully arranged ones) here, as soon as I'm allowed.

To be honest, even the Star Wars Original Trilogy was more Space Fantasy (I think the term used then was Space Opera) than Science Fiction
I like those, too. And the various Stargate series, and the two Dune series by the Syfy channel (isn't this what it calls itself now?). In each of these cases except for Dune, it took me a long time before I finally ended up watching them. I don't actually insist on something being hardcore Sci-Fi, was just commenting that Star Wars is technically not it. There are some Sci-Fi movies that take themselves so seriously they become unwatchable, and others that are just so poorly written or directed or shot that it is hard to evaluate.Stryker2011 wrote:I’m more of a Firefly and Farscape fan (Space Opera/Fantasy) rather than hardcore Sci-Fi.
GubernatorFan wrote:I'm so relieved I guessed right! And I absolutely love the kitbash and character and the whole presentation. Great combination of diorama and projected elements. Poor Taylor Kitsch, though...
PS what happened with the voting results besides the debate whether someone was allowed to vote or not? Are congratulations on that count in order for any of our members?
Proud of you am Mi, young Padawang. Always pass on what you have learned, ke?skywalkersaga wrote:Randam Hajile wrote:I'm actually much more into Scifi than Fantasy, but the genre seems to be pretty much on the back-burner

From what I gather in my occasional encounters with these on YouTube, at least Andor feels and looks more like "real" Star Wars than the others, which was also a major boon for Rogue One.Ovy wrote:GubernatorFan wrote:...

(And now that you have opened the Star Wars can again, my next mission is to get everyone to watch Andor. It's our only Hope. So, everyone: Watch Andor. )

well, though I do agree that it is very good (I might not be quite at the same fan level yet as you are), just wait with the crusade/mission until the first season is completely in…. they still have two episodes to send the thing south
Andor‘s advantage imo is that they could start with kind of a blank sheet as not much had been known about him in Rogue One - and the little there was, had been ignored (as I found out yesterday when rewatching Rogue One). The story works, whether it‘s Star Wars or any other rebellion. But set in some dear environment with some known elements and some new…
I also really liked the Expanse (loved Drummer too ). I did not really get the idea of this protomolecule thing , but anyway…
Your pics are a temptation to play Cyberpunk, but I was told that it is kind of the style where you do not see your character but your character‘s hands only? I don‘t particularly enjoy that (not that I have played that many games yet, hardly any actually - I am too old to remember the functions and to slow to act… )
