At first glance, I thought TBL had screwed up and reposted the Aset Black promo photos. They are very similar. I like the White version this time around. I might have to break down and buy an Egyptian series figure after all.

While these are technically the same as the Aset/Isis sets, they do look nicer to me. It's almost as though the Aset sets were a rough draft for these. The sculpts here are slightly more realistic (but still not ethnically correct, of course). But as there is no compulsory heavy base, I would hope these are less expensive and hope it's a trend going forward (although I dare say that someone on BBICN will complain about it). It should also go without saying that at least one of these should be in an appropriately ethnic skintone (but here it is being said yet again). I do like the throne, but would have little use for it. I like more the fact that it is an optional extra rather than an obligatory part of the sets.

Unfortunately though, I've already spent the money I would happily have spent on one of these on an Aset. So it seems like a very strange move to release these so soon after, unless of course TBL have actually completely run out of ideas now.

And enough of the S47 in sets now, please. It is a very nice body, but with TBL's current exhaustive (and exhausting) monthly release schedule, this is fast becoming overkill. Why not just take a month off to develop a new muscle body instead (a leaner, more toned S47's arms and torso with S23's abs and the legs and lower body of an S21, maybe)?

I agree that these look too much like the Asset sets - similar outfits, same hair colors. I did preorder one of the thrones, though (59.95 at BBTS).

Looks nice. I'm not collecting their egyptian line. Although I do like that they are selling the throne separate.

Throne is currently £91.12/$109.99 at GianToy, £115/$140 at OSK, £50/$60 at BBTS (minus shipping, which will be hefty I imagine).

I like the thrones, but wouldn't fit my collection (and they are 70 Euro at SPACE which is a reasonable price imo)

I do think these look pretty. But I had the same reactions:
- enough with the S47 alrerady. Getting bored.
- very similar to Aset, which I made the mistake of buying both of.

Both heads are gorgeous and would look great in other projects. I'm not sure about those coarse curls, but the headpiece seems to tame them a bit.

Well, Isis and Nephthys were sisters, so that might explain the similarities... that and TBLeague doing what Hot Toys does.
I agree, the head sculpts are very pretty, I'd say prettier than they often are.
The throne made me chuckle, it is so bad historically/artistically. But it does look kinda cool, doesn't it?
If I were to get this (I might pick up a few parted out pieces here and there), I'd have to pretend this is a modern Hollywood actress in a film that butchers the history, culture, and look of Ancient Egypt, as usual.

Nephthys has landed In my limited experience of a small growing collection, I’m appreciating the TBLeague quality and she has a good range of accessories. It’s taken a little time to get everything straight and hair tamed, but I really like this body shape, the face sculpt and she has a lot of presence in her full gear. Glad I snuck the throne on my preorder, it’s heavy and solid and a great backdrop/alternate ‘stand’.

Yes, Mark, from a historical point of view, the blonde hair is ridiculous, but then again so much of the design is Egypt-inspired as opposed to Egyptian.

She does look really good sitting on her throne.

I agree with you Stryker and GubernatorFan. I think TBLeague says "F#*% history, we can do whatever we want." So we get Caucasian Egyptians and Caucasian indigenous Americans. I am thankful to Gooboo's tutorial and for Rit Synthetic Dye to create my own.

She certainly has a whiff of Miss Sweden does fantasy Egypt, though evidently I’m fine with some fantastical licence here!

Given TBLeague are capable of managing some deep skin tones on several of the fantasy gods, it would be good to see them translate those to human form too.
