Lexi and Allison on holiday - update 28 mar - Back home

In addition to the nice photos, I got to say (I know this is probably to Gizem's Kittens' credit) "Bernadette" seems like a really fitting name for this character -- there's just something about the face and look...

I like the shot of her sitting with her legs crossed. Very natural.

While Bernadette was on her trip, Lexi finally got out of bed. She stretched herself and noticed that Allison was waking up too.









Allison: "Mmmm. What time is it?"
"Ah, you're awake too. It's time to get up. I'm going to get dressed."


"Wow, that's a really beautiful dress" Allison said.
"Thanks," Lexi replied. "With Bernadette wearing her leopard dress, I thought I'd change into something stylish too. Can you zip me up?"
"Sure. I don't have anything like that to wear with me. As you know, I didn't pack a lot of stuff."



"You can borrow something from me, if you want to," Lexi suggested.
"Wow, that's great. Can I borrow this one? This looks nice."
"Sure, if it fits you."



Allison tried it on, and happily said: "It fits! It's a shame your high heels don't fit me though."
"Yes. You'll have to do with your own shoes. Now where is Bernadette?"
"Ah, she left a note. It says she went sightseeing and expects to be back for a late lunch."
"Hm. That won't be long. Maybe we should get it ready then. I could eat something anyway."

Looks like they are about to have breakfast at a relatively fancy hotel.

Meanwhile Bernadette went on with her roadtrip. She carefully navigated the french roads and stopped several times to admire the view. Just like Lexi she always found some high spots to take a good look around.

While Bernadette was on her roadtrip, Lexi and Allison were preparing lunch.
They found a barbecueset and they set up the table.
Allison found something in Bernadettes' luggage, while Lexi remarked "I don't think you should be sniffing through her luggage."
"I wasn't sniffing!" Allison said, "it was there in plain sight. Besides that, she must have taken it with her to share it with us. So it'll be fine. I'm going to open it, I could use a drink."



"Be careful with that. I think it's pretty strong," Lexi said, while she was putting the meat on the barbecue.



"It opens pretty easily," Allison said, while she was unscrewing the bottle.
"That's not what I meant!" Lexi replied.



After she poured herself a drink, Allison said "Wow. This is really good. I'm gonna have another one. I wonder where Bernadette is now?"



Well, Bernadette was still in France, admiring the view.



There was also an anonymous cylist passing on the road.





And on that hillside there was a large concrete conception. Since she was close to the border with Germany, she guessed this was a remnant of the Maginotline.

You and Gizem must be pretty close, to have gotten Bernadette on loan.

That's pretty cool if that concrete structure is a remnant of the Maginot line!

Got to say, these (shoe racks?) being used as bunk beds is a very clever and effective idea!

Thanks. As GnK/Bernadette posted, Bernadette wanted to travel, and since Lexi travels, she was invited to travel with us. It was a neat idea, and did involve trust on his side.

I'm not sure, but I think it is. There weren't any signs at it, and I also couldn't find anything about this particular one on Google. But it was sitting strategically on top of a hill, and it kinda looked like a military object.

In fact those remnants, and the german counterpart (the Siegfriedline) can be found at various locations across the border.

Where I live in the Netherlands there are still several bunkers and fortified positions of the dutch main defenceline: the Waterline. Unfortunately most are at places that aren't easy to access, or don't have good spots to take Lexi's picture with them, but I still hope to find some of which do have a nice view.

Thanks. It's a piece of furniture where you put your TV on, and DVD-player and discs, not sure what it's called in english. When I entered this apartment I noticed it's potential quite soon (these pics where taken during my holiday).



Bernadette crossed the French-German border again, and there was a nice view across the Saarvalley.







When she arrived back at the place they were staying, Allison greeted her enthusiastically.
"There she is! Hi Bernadette!!"
"Hello, Allison. You're very happy. I see you found the Jagermeister. Careful with that."



"That's what Lexi said too. Don't worry, this is only my second glass, I can handle it very well. Would you like a glass too?"
"Nice that you have prepared such a barbecue, I am looking forward to it. And you have dressed up so well, give me a moment to shower and change." While Bernadette was leaving she mumbled to herself, "I'll have to hurry. Otherwise Allison will soon have drunk the bottle empty by herself."



When Bernadette had showered and changed, she poured herself a drink.
"So have you had a nice day?" Lexi asked.
"Yes, very much," Bernadette replied. "I crossed the border to France, there was nobody to check. Even Gizem could have crossed the border with her tank. I took a look at ships on the Saar. There was a cultural program, I visited a monument and a bunker of the Maginot Line. On the way there were of viewpoints"
"Yes, those are always nice."



"I have many pictures, which the ones who stayed at home can enjoy."
"That's great. It's always fun to look at the pictures and remember your holidays. Can you pour me a drink too?"



While Lexi and Bernadette were talking, Allison was drinking glass after glass.



Lexi noticed this, and said "Allison, are you allright? You've had quite a lot of drinks.
"Ai'm vine," Allison said.
"Are you sure? You look a bit dizzy."
*Booink*



Bernadette got up and said, "That does not look good."



"She is totally drunk."



Allison snored.
Lexi asked a bit worried "She doesn't react at all?"
"No, not at all. I think we should put her to bed."
"Pff. Not again. I've just done that already a few days ago. She is so irresponsible. We should just leaving her lying here. She'll be OK. It's warm here. She will just have a sore head when she wakes up."

Unfortunately for her, no-one did.


After Allison went knock-out (Allison-Jägermeister 0-1), Lexi and Bernadette discussed what to do.

Bernadette: "Allison will survive this, Loreen always drinks the big bottles of Wiskey away and has no problems with it. Once she was even almost crushed by the bottle. But after a good night she was okay again."
"Yeah, she'll be allright," Lexi said. "I can't keep getting her out of trouble. I think we should go for a ride, if you are up to it?"
"Sounds good. But should we not clean up a bit first?"
"Nah, let Allison should do that. She needs to be more responsible."
"That's what you say. Maybe you're right. Then let's go. But where to?"
"Maybe we could take my car and go to the forest. I'd like to test its offroad capabilities."
"OK. Then let's do that."
And soon they entered the forest.



They drove over a big wall.



It was really high. It seems Lexi has improved her driving a lot, because she didn't drive off the wall.



There were ruins there.



"Maybe there was once a village here. Do you think that there are spirits here?" Bernadette wondered.



"Maybe. Last year I went through a ghosttown as well. That was a bit further north. I handled the ghosts very well."*
"We also have some experience with spirits. Lady Asra is a vampirella and was still wild when she arrived. She had masses of death heads, a bat and a big tarantula with her. We had no chance against the gang until Ernie and Bert came to our aid. They then brainwashed Lady Asra and now she is completely tame."
"That sounds like an epic fight."



"This is a beautiful source."**



"Yes, it looks great. Maybe we can go swimming?" Lexi suggested.
"I do not know, what about all the sea monsters and octopuses?"
"I doubt they are any here."
"I'm not sure. I would like to have my pistol with me," Bernadette sounded doubtful.


"We can go back and maybe return tomorrow. Probably Allison would like to swim too."
"I think this is better. The sun is almost going down too."
"Yeah, we should head back."
They drove further and when they exited the forest Bernadette said "There is the village again."



"Yeah. We are almost there. You were right though, the sun has almost set."



"It is very beautiful. let's watch it," Bernadette suggested.



"Indeed it's a wonderful sight," Lexi agreed.



"The sun is almost down. We should go further."
"You're right. It'll be dark when we get back. Allison should have cleant the place by now, so we can go straight to bed. You'll probably be tired now."
"Yes, it was a long day. I have seen so much today."



*Lexi refers to the abandoned town she visited here
** It is actually an old gallo-roman temple, build around a small well in the forest. The wall they drove over and the ruins they saw, were part of the complex. So Bernadette's worries that there may be spirits do have some ground.

Here in the States, two-hundred years is considered old. Where you live, two-thousand years is all, like, "eh, just another old ruin."

That's awesome! Fun forest adventure, there!

The bits about octopuses and sea monsters and vampirellas had me laughing!

Another set of nice outdoors shots. But driving over ruins? You better be careful in more ways than one.

Thank you! The octopuses and monsters were GnK's suggestion (most of what Bernadette says is written by him).

This is ruin in the Saarregion (Germany). In the Saar and nearby Mosel-region there are quite a number of roman ruins. You may remember the roman theatre Lexi visited there (that was on a separate trip, earlier last year).

I did take a picture of the explanatory sign at the temple. Unfortunately it didn't turn out too well, and it's hard to read, even on the high resolution.

The well is the small 'bullseye' in the middle of the picture. There is a tree directly right to it.
At the right are the ruins of which Bernadette wondered if there were spirits there. The ruins are from a countryhouse. I only just noticed that the sign says there's also a small graveyard there. The graveyard is Frankish, so is from a later era.

Thank you! Everything was freely accesible, except a part with warnings for the Oak Processionary caterpillar (which small hairs can causing a burning reaction on the skin). Coincidentally that was the area of the graveyard and countryhouse.

Really digging those ruin shots and the sunset images — very atmospheric. I thought for sure Asra was going to show up at some point. Allison really needs to pull herself together.

"Hi Kitty, do you want some attention? Do you know where Lexi and Bernadette are? I don't see them."



The cat moved over and revealed a note. "Ah,you were guarding a note, you're a well trained cat. What does it say? They went for a ride in the forest with Lexi's car. They ask me to clean up."



"Why should I do that while they're having fun? Besides that my head hurts too much. So I don't think so, I'm going to bed."

That second cat was totally unimpressed by her absence of proper work ethic.

This looks like it could be a dispute. Allison was supposed to clean up after all.

Clean up later. Sleep now. That's my kind of prioritization!

The next day the girls did return to the well, as Bernadette and Lexi suggested. Unfortunately it wasn't as sunny. Still nice enough to get into their bathing suits.
Whil Lexi settled on the edge of the well, and Allison made herself comfortable on a beachbed (if that's what it is), Bernadette looked a bit worried.



"What are you doing?", Lexi wondered.



"I want to be sure that there are no sea monsters and octopuses here," Bernadette replied.



"I'm sure it's fine," Lexi said and she dived in.



"Come, join me! The water isn't cold at all!"



"I'm not sure. I think that something is moving."



"I'm the only thing moving in here," Lexi reassured Bernadette.



"If you stay there, can you throw me the ball?"
"Here it comes. Can you catch this?"



"Got it!"



"Hey, Allison, catch it, if you can!" Lexi said, while she threw it at her.
"I sure can!"


After some splashing around they decided to leave again. Unfortunetaly it started to rain, otherwise they could have had a picnic.

I thought the gun was specially modified to check for breast cancer. I hope your figures did not suffer any negative side effects (or catch a cold) from the immersion.

I somehow missed the pics where Allison woke up. Like the shot of her when she first sat down on the floor where she found the note under the cat. I hope you thoroughly washed those ladies after being in that water — I can imagine all sorts of bacteria growing on them after that.

Thank you! I like that shot too. But my favorite from that shoot is Allison climbing into her bed (took me 15 minutes to bend her so that she was balancing and it still looked realistic).

Actually I don't think there were a lot of bacteria there. It was running water and came straight from the ground. You can't get much fresher water than that.

On their way back they were discussing their cars.
"Mine is the fastest," Allison stated.
"I'm sure it is," Lexi said.
"Maybe you should do a race in your cars?" Allison suggested. "I wonder which is quicker."
"I'm sure Bernadette's sportscar is a lot quicker than mine."
"But your car has four wheel drive and is maybe more agile," Bernadette replied
"Yes, it could be an exciting race," Allison said with her usual enthusiasm, "if you first have to go around the kitchen table, then through the pillars in the center of the room, go around the coffeetable and finish in the kitchen. It's a combination of speed and agility."
"We could do that, sounds like fun," Lexi said.
"Cool! I can be the referee. I can use Bernadette's gun to give the start signal!"
"Yes, you can use my gun. But you must be careful not to shoot anything."
"I'm not sure that's a good idea," Lexi sounded a bit doubtful.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful."
And so Allison gave the starting signal. *bang*



*BANG*
"Holy (censored)! What was that!"
Yeah. Allison with a gun, that was not going to end well. At least she didn't shoot anyone.



Meanwhile Bernadette and Lexi had gotten away and Bernadette took the lead.



She had a healthy margin when she reached the kitchentable, but she overshot the turn.



She slammed the brakes and made a half spin, while Lexi turned through the corner quicker and took the lead.



"Whoah, you totally crashed into me there!" Lexi shouted.



But it looks like there was no damage done.



They went side by side through the turn, but Lexi has the inside line.



They're side by side going to the pillars.
