Disclaimer: While these photos do not feature anything explicit, they make reference to adult humor and adult themes. It is meant as a joke, of course, but may be NSFW.

Immortal recently-deceased French director Jean-Baptiste de Larochefoucauld is credited with directing the following TV ad in the 1980s, recently discovered in the studio archives.

Why it should not have been allowed to run, especially in the USA, is probably clear enough from the contents...

lol!

Awesome. The tension you built up til the punchline was very well done. Seeing only C3PO, Han and Luke which are seeing what we aren't seeing and what they rather don't want to see is so cool. And that "expression" of chewie is always so fitting  Smile

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Difficult to set up tension or surprise with the disclaimer, but happy it worked out for you. I love that HT gave Chewie a movable mouth, although I find myself wishing it opened more. One can still achieve a little bit of emotion with it. How is our secret buddy project coming along? Wink

Poor Han indeed. But he should have risen to the occasion and gone steady with Leia before she found solace elsewhere. Smile

Ovy wrote:Who shot first? And will Colt 45 protect from DL-44 blaster bolts?

Presumably Lando preempted Han, who couldn't even say "I love you" to Leia. I don't know how good Colt 45 is against blasters, but it is said to work every time. Smile

Cool It isn't on put on ice yet. (possible puns intended) But yeah, I hadn't really time to finish the project, but I did some work already. Hopefully I can post some results soon even without a Diorama  Wink

Excellent (although I haven't progressed either). Remember, they used flour (for baking). I will say no more. Smile

Very nice, so it is inspired by a banned commercial not allowed in the US? I feel like a lot of older stuff seen on TV back then kinda pushed things actually, compared to today. But this particular scene reminds me of some of the lyrics from those Star Wars Gangsta Rap song videos from several years back, specifically Gangsta Rap 2. lol Beware if you look it up and watch, the lyrics are extremely vulgar and juvenile, but teenage me found them quite amusing when I first discovered them. 😆

Thank you, I'm very glad you liked it. Well the specific banned commercial reference was a lame attempt at an April Fools joke. The rest is inspired more generally by (a) goofy Star Wars spoofs from juvenile image editing to SW-inspired adult movies to that silly Chris Pratt battling Vader in his bathrobe skit; and by the never-ending desire to satirize various silly ideas increasingly present in the Star Wars franchise. I suppose it is also a public service announcement against the dangers of alcohol consumption? I am not familiar with Gangsta Rap 2, but I will take a look -- don't worry, you have warned me. Smile

Tjolnir wrote:Talk about a hairy situation. Chewies face caught in the act is priceless Smile

Glad you liked it. This Chewie's face has only two expressions, but they seem to lend themselves to more interpretations. Smile

LOL, I expected a (blocked) YouTube video so didn't even check the thread. Glad my curiosity got the better of me, this was fun!

I love Lando's elongated neck in his first pic. Gives him that super perky advertising feel. Very Happy
Great posing, composition and storytelling!

As usual a joy to read. Smile

Thank you, I'm delighted you enjoyed it! And that you actually liked Lando's longer-looking neck. After the fact, it struck me as too long, so I've gone back and drilled the head a little more, hoping that it will look a little more natural, but I haven't taken any photos. The whole thing started with me coloring another TBLeague body, at the same time as the Lando head arrived, so I aimed for a match (now I have three custom African bodies, each with a slightly different skin tone).

Stryker2011 wrote:Ha! Would this be what the word Bestiality was invented for…

I suppose that was one (out of several, surely) reasons why the commercial was pulled off the air. Smile But from a modern perspective, there is perhaps a redeeming grace -- clearly Leia no longer thinks of Chewie as a "walking carpet," and she does not show prejudice against race or species. Smile

The neck did look too long but it worked for that shot. The second one looked more natural, but I understand that you'd want the head sitting lower.

As for the custom colored bodies: Very exciting! I'll probably make my first attempts in May. I might not have my work space set up yet (the current occupant is taking his time), but I have all of May off and will definitely spend some time on the 1/6 hobby. Trying out new body colors is top priority. I have black, red, brown and I think yellow Rit dye. And I'll see about that make-up approach, too. Glad I wasn't imagining things, and that my corrective action was merited. I also hope it worked, we'll see...

Given the variety in outcomes, I still cannot bring myself to try Rit dye. The make-up approach seems promising, but remember it only works to make things darker. With oil pastels we can go both ways. Anyway, whatever you try, I hope it works, and that you will share your results with us.

Here it is after the additional drilling of the head. I think it is a bit of an improvement. What do you think?

Definitely better. I actually think the head could sit a nudge higher at this point, but I'm very unsure. It probably has to do with him looking up.

Lando's head sits at the perfect height now. Great work!

BTW I also "dremeled" a bigger hole on the neck of the HT Brie Larson-sculpt and was able to get it down by a few milimeters. It fits well on most bodies now. No Giraffe neck anymore Smile

Thank you, I'm glad you agree. Since I used a foamie inside, the height is easily adjustable, as needed. I guess in this photo without clothes, the head should sit relatively low, as pictured. But if he is wearing a shirt, especially a collared one, it would help, visually, to place the head higher. Luckily, foamies allow for that beautifully, and more easily than the original plastic inside neck connectors. Probably this is largely true for putty as well.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. Looks like we were engaged in the same endeavor. Glad yours was successful, too. It really is a very nice head, as usual with Hot Toys, so I'm glad you succeed in modifying it.

+1

That was me exactly. Laughing

The set-up and delivery was great. When I got to the photo of Lando, Chewie and Leia, I burst out in involuntary laughter. It would have been funny enough if it were just Chewie and Leia, and would have worked, but including Lando as well made it both disturbing and so much more funny at the same time. That's awesome.
