Nice acquisition. I don’t think the skin tone difference is all that severe (at least in the pic). Remember that different materials reflect light differently. She looks good.

Just Belatedly learned of the Worldbox AT203... with its significantly-longer legs than that of the AT201 that i recently acquired for my "Mamotte Shuugogetten!" Shaorin.

i just picked up a Pale AT203; those legs are simply far more suited to Shao~

I have been infected by 1:6 maddness, and applying what Ive learned on my latest project. I am still awaiting the srrival of the Head Sculpt, which I will be modding to fit a Jiaou Doll 19A body in wheat. ( BS01) I included a comparison to the JD 11C in Wheat (on left) I purchased last year. As Eddie was a tall and skinny guitar player the 19a is the perfect body for him. Finding a head sculpt with his quirky smile took a bit of searching but I settled on the ww2 soldier head sculpt. There were none available in the states so I ordered from China and I understand its just cleared customs and on us soil. Ill be  rooting the hair using goat hair from Moresmores and lurchased all the tools and parts to mod it to fit the JD neck post. Of course, I purchased the guitar and amp in 1/6 scale and got a great deal on both from Stars Guitars on Ebay. I paid less for the pair than many sell the Frankenstrat replica for... if u can find one in a 1/6 ( most are 1/4) .
Ive ordered the yellow tiger striped fabric for his jacket, and am currently sewing a pair of 5 pocket jeans. Ill post finished pix of course, but Im too excited to not share some of it right now.

Haven't grabbed much lately, but here is a picture of some knick knacks that came in recently. Parted out tbleague mulan sword, DID Valkyrie Table, and some pumpkins for the season from oomomo (japanese dollar store). Pumpkins were only a couple bucks for a pack of 4 with some light paint. Good size for 1/6 figures.

i finally got around to finding my answer in the YuMeng YMY 11cm. Doll Body;





i had ordered two of the 2nd Gen. bodies... and received one each of the 2nd and 1st.

i'll have to see about getting another 2nd. Gen.
in the meantime, Miku gets the 1st and Rose the 2nd, as shown above.

All in all; they're just so Adorable now... Just Perfect~

Not sure if I ever mentioned specifically in this thread of this preorder, but he arrived today, as did the replacement top hat (early reports were the stock one is garbage, which has been confirmed!)






Some folks were throwing shade at the paint app saying the complexion was off (which depends on the photo/settings used on reference photo—I’ve seen some press photos highly washed out, including the poster/cover art) but I think this looks marvelous for the $170 shipped price I paid for him.

I mean even if Mars Toys releases him (I’m hoping it’s the Mayoral version) I’ll still likely pick him up… I mean, after really not having a decently priced and sculpted 1/6 scale Penguin in forever, bring it! I was also surprised in the lead time from announcement as this was the third to last figure I preordered (out of 7) and the first to arrive. I presume because this is the 8th release from this company Eternal Toys, they haven’t got to the point where their release schedule isn’t so far out from announcement (I’m looking at you basically everyone else! )

Hot Toys - Joker (purple coat version) from The Suicide Squad

This arrived today. This figure has been on my wants list for years.
I happened to be on ebay about two days ago and spotted an auction for Joker with 20+ minutes remaining.
I slapped on a bid and won!

Being located in the UK, there was no import fee, and very low postage cost. The price of the figure was $100 less that the original retail price.
The figure is used / like new. If you are wondering, yes the body under coat is stained by the purple coat, which is a known fault with these Joker figures.

All in all, i am very happy. I now have a Joker to pair with my Suicide Squad Harley Quinn.

The brown shipper box states: SPECIAL EDITION
For the moment i am unsure as to what makes the figure special edition?

That's my doing. Just moved house and fixing things up.

Usually they are the same price but only sold exclusively through sideshow and not sideshow retailers who get the collectors edition without the bonus items.

Two "Gloria" fashion doll furniture sets. The "Gloria" sets (one is labeled "My Fancy Life" but is the same item and stock number as the "Gloria" version) can be painted to look decent, they are generally well-scaled for 1/6 figure use, and they are inexpensive.

I use spray paint - Krylon or Rust-Oleum or generic store brand, it all seems to work. Washing the parts in warm soapy water and drying them thoroughly prior to painting seems to help the paint adhere better.

Absolutely, you can use acrylics. But it helps to prime them first, too.

Nice start, Dave, they already look so much better than the actual product.

I like the Rustoleum paint/primer combos personally. Do be warned though, do NOT use them with any alcohol based paints. It’ll just be a pseudo-dry, mostly sticky mess (I learned the hard way with some gold trim work I was doing). Acrylics though are super great for everything after priming.

Cool new sets. Repainting them makes them look much better.

Okaaayyyy... I've reposted the "Gloria" pix and some painting tips over in the De-Barbified topic (thanx for the link, I'd forgotten about that discussion). Now to bring this topic back on track, this showed up last week:


Pale skin tone, large bust, detachable feet, somewhat "anime" in proportions, complete with a "westernized Asian" big-eyed head sculpt. Includes: three pairs of hands, two pairs of feet (flat and high heel type), cloth swimsuit, and display stand.

Ready to use right out of the box; minimal spray painting required.  

Just add a coupla hundred dollars in outfit and accessories, and maybe replace the head sculpt for another half-a-hundred, and she'll be ready to go!

i've been fairly-strongly considering whether trying out one of those TBLEAGUEs just might be a good idea for Shao, Actually.

However... - truth be told - i have found myself growing rather fond of the WorldBox-ed Shao's "Chunkiness"
and, further, when she gets the longer-legged AT203, i'm feeling she just might end up being near-perfect to me.

Now, if WB actually eventually issues a Peachy-Beige Skintone...
i am quite confident that it most certainly WOULD, in fact, render my Shaorin Perfect...
