I like the Rustoleum paint/primer combos personally. Do be warned though, do NOT use them with any alcohol based paints. It’ll just be a pseudo-dry, mostly sticky mess (I learned the hard way with some gold trim work I was doing). Acrylics though are super great for everything after priming.

Cool new sets. Repainting them makes them look much better.

Okaaayyyy... I've reposted the "Gloria" pix and some painting tips over in the De-Barbified topic (thanx for the link, I'd forgotten about that discussion). Now to bring this topic back on track, this showed up last week:


Pale skin tone, large bust, detachable feet, somewhat "anime" in proportions, complete with a "westernized Asian" big-eyed head sculpt. Includes: three pairs of hands, two pairs of feet (flat and high heel type), cloth swimsuit, and display stand.

Ready to use right out of the box; minimal spray painting required.  

Just add a coupla hundred dollars in outfit and accessories, and maybe replace the head sculpt for another half-a-hundred, and she'll be ready to go!

i've been fairly-strongly considering whether trying out one of those TBLEAGUEs just might be a good idea for Shao, Actually.

However... - truth be told - i have found myself growing rather fond of the WorldBox-ed Shao's "Chunkiness"
and, further, when she gets the longer-legged AT203, i'm feeling she just might end up being near-perfect to me.

Now, if WB actually eventually issues a Peachy-Beige Skintone...
i am quite confident that it most certainly WOULD, in fact, render my Shaorin Perfect...

The proportions of that body suit the head sculpt nicely, and those lightly blushed knees are so cuuute!

About two months ago I ordered a bootleg Figma of Megumin (from Konosuba), which took ages to arrive (at a certain point it was stuck for a month in customs). Got to say, I can't really recommend the bootlegs. The painting is quite bad, a bit different from the original, some parts that are supposed to be seethrough are painted and some of the parts don't fit well (or in the case of two of the hands, at all). Most annoying is that the magic effect circle that's supposed to fit on the top of her wand doesn't fit, because the peg to fasten it isn't included.

But on the other hand I only paid about €27 (including shipping) for it, which is about a third from an official Figma. And I've seen complaints that the painting on this official Figma was lacking too.

Should have the WB AT203 by the 10th. notably taller, with a better Arm-to-Leg-length ratio that will be far more suited to Shao's Anime-ness;

Superduck eventually scaled this (or extremely similar) headsculpt down to 1/12 for their SDMINI001 set, and I chose that head for Kate, my original character, back in 2022 - with slightly different arrangement of hair strands and no headband/eyemask.

I guess it was bound to happen that I bleed into 1/6 scale. Inevitable even. Though technically it hasn't happened yet, this headsculpt is not even my first 1/6 scale item: ebay listings sometimes confuse "sixth scale" and "six-inch scale", and I ended up with microscopes which look too big, and 1/6 scale medical gown for an earlier chapter. But I don't have any body yet.

This acquisition was in part triggered by "one figure to rule them all" discussion. I started reflecting on what figure I would pick as the one and only, kind of expecting the answer to be some variation of Darth Vader (either the iconic suit, or Hayden look from just after he assumed the Sith Lord mantle, or maybe just before, as Anakin the Jedi Knight). And yet I felt some saturation with popular culture figures in general, and many Vader figures I already have, so the answer was that I'd rather have a protagonist of my first story in tangible form - which I do have, in 1/12 scale. But if I want to assemble a 1/6 scale version, I need this head, and they are becoming sparse, so I grabbed one while I could. FOMO in its pure form. Oh well.

It was bound to happen. 1/6 is addictive, and draws many folks in eventually.

As for me, I haven’t had the energy lately to do much, but I have received a few POs lately.

I like the final sculpts on Blondie (especially the one without the hat) and Angel Eyes, but Tuco isn’t good (the face turned out rather squished and elongated). The weird thing is the chosen bodies — both Blondie and Angel Eyes are WAY too short (especially Eastwood), and Tuco is way too tall. Marty and Doc look good, aside from the crappy sculpted hair on Doc.

Between her new body and Eye Faceup... Shao no longer embarrasses herself nearly so badly beside my Wife Konomi...

Yes, Mark, I think you're right about Tuco. By the way, these recent arrivals alone are bound to push your Western collection to the point of needing to expand your facilities...

Mark, that's one awesome collection of pickups! Congrats! They should all look good together, though I'm guessing Doc and Marty will have their own space.

Oddly, I planned to use them in my West World if I ever get back to it. I'll probably display them as they are (with all their accessories added), but if I use them as more characters, I'll have to replace the rifle on Doc Brown, and was going to use Marty (sans current headsculpt) with a different head sculpt to represent young Mark Stryker (for flashback scenes).

Thanks guys! It's for one of older stories where one of my figures and her team love to hunt gigantic creatures (1/1 scale rabbits) in the wilderness zone. (north pasture)

I didn't even think of the Star Wars settings, that's a very cool idea! I can see how that could happen.
